About Internet-Box

The Internet-Box app is just what was missing in your home. It offers you lots of options for home control and surveillance. These are just a few of the many app functions:
- Manage WLAN: would like to rename your WLAN or select a password that you can remember? No problem. It's all possible with a minimum of fuss.
Making calls: don't have your fixed network phone to hand? No problem. You can use the app to make calls at home on your fixed network number.
- Phone book: export all your smartphone contacts to your HD fixed network phone at the touch of a button.
- Guest WLAN: be prepared for guests! The secure guest WLAN is just a click away and can be switched off automatically afterwards
- Smart Home: control devices at home, save electricity or keep in touch with the people you care about. Smart Home integrates selected Smart Home products.
- And lots more besides… try it out for yourself!

Compatibility:
this app supports all Swisscom Internet-Boxes (Internet-Box 2, Internet-Box plus, Internet-Box standard and Internet-Box light). Other Swisscom routers like Centro Grande are not supported.

Different functions are supported depending on the Internet-Box model connected.

Buggy and not reliable. Told Swisscom but nobody got back to me. Sometimes not possible to call or even receive calls. Sometimes have to reboot phone to stop ringing.

Me cha sech immer no mit em internet verbinde...

Why does the app NOT have the ability to check connectivity and link speed? If you login to the box directly you can see/do much more? It is also not obvious that you need a premium subscription to access all features.

U70%
by U####:

I would like to say it in more favorable words but this app (or the internet box) is close to crap: unstable, disconnecting/not connecting, slow - really just not what you'd expect from a company that charges premium prices in return of allegedly premium services.

Speed test, parental control to restrict WiFi times per device, and many more features. Highly recommended

Application claire, efficace et utile ... mais pourquoi tant de consommation d'énergie ! Ma batterie fond à vue d'œil. Dommage car du coup elle est inutilisable.

This App Controls My WI-FI!!!

R70%

Even though I have a Swisscom ip telephone I'm not able to switch on the telephony function rendering this app fairly useless.

O70%
by O####:

The app is very good, but why don't allow users to use their landline when not at home? UPC cablecom has this feature! We subscribe to the most expensive Swisscom package with all bells and whistles, but no, we cannot use our landline with this app like our friends do with their Cablecom phone app. Swisscom offers this feature only to its business customers, why? It is a real shame!

Nice app, but the power consumption is ridiculously high! Even after having disabled the notification of the incoming calls (that require a continuous Wi-Fi connection) this app still consumes 25% of the overall power.

"I appreciate the company expending the effort to provide its client base with modern means of interacting with its services." Very happy to say that these efforts have actually improved the product rather dramatically since my initial 2* review. The app feels like a complete rewrite, in line with SWC's other recent apps: good design, interesting, useful features that customers asked for in the forums. It's a rare telco that listens.

myStrom integration is really handy, file streaming is quite clumsy but still an advantage compared to other providers

Easily eats 40% of all battery!! Maybe because I'm on lollipop, but nevertheless

I appreciate the company expending the effort to provide its client base with modern means of interacting with its services. However, the result is by now predictably half-baked: it's too buggy for a consumer app (I know I'm on the router's WLAN, make the effort to catch the exception upstream) and just lacks focus and customer oriented workflow. What am I supposed to do with such a limited subset of files? Come on guys, a bit of ambition. But I doubt it's.the engineers' decision.

D70%
by D####:

The app only allows uploading of photos and videos. To *my* private hardware. Why can I read my "important documents", and why can I not modify and re-upload them? Generally, the app seems to do what it is designed to do. Which, unfortunately, is not much. Real value could be obtained from delivering an API and then allow ES Explorer, for instance, to connect. This would add real value (i.e. a private data cloud, to an extent)
