Cube Companion App for Android
I wanted a Cube for so long. I bought one right before a recent trip to Colorado. I was excited all the colors I collected while on my trip. A few months later i hade to factory reset my phone... there goes all my colors. There should be a way to backup colors...
Easy to use. Battery maybe isn't lasting well? It seems I need to keep the cube plugged in now to keep it on. Will find out how good the paint matching is in a few weeks; first time using it during renovations after getting it from the Kickstarter.
Cube malfunction with Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile
This is excellent. The Cube device is really well designed and attractively packaged. It incorporates an integrating sphere just like laboratory instruments so it should not be unduly influenced by surface texture or gloss. Testing with Dulux color cards, it named the colors correctly 100% of the time. Took me a while to realise that you swipe the color coordinates to the left to access color card names.
Would be good if we can reorder the scanned colors manually. Share multiple selected colors. And the favorite star colors change not visible on light colors.
Its good
It is not accurate enough though. Will be sending device back. Printed various colours through my sign maker software and 64" 6 colour printer onto a gloss vinyl and recorded the rgb codes. Cross checking using the cube the results were somewhat off. Shame.
As a graphic designer the Cube color measurement tool is useful for me everyday. Great design and powerful features for an affordable product.
Severely needed backup export and restore of swatch files. Cube gives good, approximations of color to paint. I can use the rgb info to input colors for use in CA and graphics. Calibration to monitors needed..
Just received my cube and have been giving it and the app a thorough test. #Pro's: very easy to use the cube and app, nice industrial design and top notch product finish. #Con's: when naming colors in the app it doesn't invert the text color (dark=white text, light=black text) until finished typing making it very difficult to read. #Recommendations: add some form of palette management to group color samples together into categories. This would allow the user to sample and group colours far more efficiently.
Correctly guessed the colour names on 8 of 9 Dulux colour cards I tested it on. The one miss was so close that I couldn't tell the difference between the colours with my eyes. Good work.
Only spent a minute playing with it so far, but RGB, CMYK and LAB seem to be working. Swipe left on RGB/etc colors to get to color database (i missed that when i first played with it). Look forward to spending some more time exploring colors with my cube.
App looks modern and friendly

The cube has been working really well, but now the app won't recognise my cube, even though they are side by side.
