You need to have SwanSong installed BEFORE you lose your phone. It used to work installing it "on-the-fly" remotely after losing your phone, but due to a security update from Google, you cannot remotely start a downloaded app. Just make sure to have SwanSong running before you lose your phone and you will never lose it for good! SwanSong will send you an email with a Google Maps link to your phone's coordinates right before your phone dies or right upon receiving a text with the word "swansong".

This has helped me find my phone and my girlfriend's phone. The later case someone was actually trying to steal her phone at a party, but the SwanSong Google Maps link in the emails we got back pointed right to a guy's house who was at the party. We eventually convinced him to give the phone back. It was someone we knew loosely, too... It emails you with a Google Maps link to your phone when it dies. You can also text "SwanSong" to your phnoe/device to get an email with the link / coords.

I lost my phone the other day after a night out bar hoping with my friends. Sure enough, my phone was dead the next morning when I realized it was missing. All I had to do was check my email and there it was on google maps map. From there I just had to drive to the bar it showed on the map and pick it up. I wish I had this app for my last phone, then it might still have been my current phone. Truly wonderful and easy. Thank you swansong
