== INSTRUCTIONS ==
1. Install and run the voice app once
2. Install free SVOX Classic Text-to-Speech Engine
3. Go to Android Settings -> Voice Input & Output -> Text-to-Speech settings.
Activate SvoxClassic at the bottom of the screen.
Select SvoxClassic as the Default Engine.
4. Run the voice app, click “Continue”, then follow the instructions.
5. Your SVOX Voice main screen will be now visible. Don’t forget to try the new pronunciations correction feature (‘pencil’ icon)!
6. Download other free / paid apps to combine our voice with. For example, you could try: Google Navigation (on Android 2.2 and later, only with Navigation < 5.9), Moon+ Reader PRO, Voice Actions Plus, TalkToMe Classic, Book Speech Audio Books, Transzilla, Good Morning, WakeVoice...

3. Tap on the Android menu key and select ‘Help’

1. Google Navigation requires that the Text-to-Speech voice matches the phone language. You can change the phone language in Android Settings -> Language & keyboard -> Select language

Это как раз тот случай про поговорку на безрыбьи и рак рыба. Как-то так. Широкий выбор голосов подменяет качество - это про свокс. Наверно так устанавливаются все tts модули, но в итоге когда необходима озвучка английских слов, то возникает необходимость вручную переключаться на стандартный tts, что не удобно или (как я подозреваю), купить ещё и английский голос, что при наличии вполне вменяемого стандартного - довольно странно, а ведь есть еще ивона...

Меняю отзыв ввиду решения проблемы: штатный Goggle TTS должен быть включен и обновлен, тогда все работает.

Very nice, but makes many mistakes in names. SVOX has pronunciation correction feature, but it doesn't help in every case. It's possible to add some spaces to fix it sometimes (to say 'кОля' instead of 'колЯ' just write it as 'Ко ля' - Russian name). But no way to put stress to the end of the word, for example.

To cut it shortly, this is the best and most natural Russian voice available for Android (female Katja voice is too distorted). It's not absolutely perfect, there are problems indeed like stress mistakes, but most of the time it's very good, warm and natural. In general, it's very, very close to natural human voice, great for reading books and navigation. Some of my Russian friends didn't believe at first that it's a synthesised voice, not an audio book read by a professional actor.

I have SVOX RUSSIAN - Yuriy which I use with Moon+ Reader Pro. SVOX works for 5-7 minuts and then skips 10-40 sentences and stops to work.
