1. Install and run the voice app once
2. Install free SVOX Classic Text-to-Speech Engine
3. Go to Android Settings -> Voice Input & Output -> Text-to-Speech settings.
Activate SvoxClassic at the bottom of the screen.
Select SvoxClassic as the Default Engine.
4. Run the voice app, click “Continue”, then follow the instructions.
5. Your SVOX Voice main screen will be now visible. Don’t forget to try the new pronunciations correction feature (‘pencil’ icon)!
6. Download other free / paid apps to combine our voice with. For example, you could try: Google Navigation (on Android 2.2 and later, only with Navigation < 5.9), Moon+ Reader PRO, Voice Actions Plus, TalkToMe Classic, Book Speech Audio Books, Transzilla, Good Morning, WakeVoice, Pocket Blonde...

3. Tap on the Android menu key and select ‘Help’

When I try to install the voice, it downloads about 1 Meg file. When I try to then use the voice it tells me over and over there is an install error can't reach the server and to check my internet connection. My internet connection is FINE. I have left messages before with no response. Is SVOX still in business???? Sounds like they have gone under. Too bad as the sample voice seemed good.

Loved this for years. Installed it on my new phone and says cannot connect to internet to verify on either cellular or WiFi network. No response when contacted. I know it's a cheap app paid for years ago but at least a generic response would be nice

Tried the paid version - it couldn't download / install the voice data then I uninstalled that and hit the refund button and tried this trial - same issue (couldn't download / install voice data) 3 stars rating as a placeholder until I find out if there's a workaround or support / troubleshooting guide.

I was thinking about trying svox after struggling with pico, which is actually decent enough, I bought one language before, but that's not good enough for English ebooks, I wanted to try the trial, but, despite losing money on something I have no use anymore, you don't let me to try any other voices you are selling. to me it seems as an idiotic concept, here, take my one star.

I got the app, and downloaded the free trial. When i opened it for the first time(right after i installed it) it said my frew trial had ended, and it wont let me do anything on the app >:/

To an Australian ear, Victoria sounds like a stuck-up Pommy, but in comparison to the two other female English language voices, Victoria is the best voice period. Once the devs fix the engine's issues with ICS it will be even better. As it is, however, SVOX and Victoria is what manufacturers should have been shipping as the stock English language TTS engine and voice with Froyo 2.2 and later. Victoria's voice beats hollow, the ear-achingly bad robot synthesizer of Pico.

This worked well on my old phone but then I upgraded to a Pixel phone. Every time I try to download the voice data, it fails with a message that I have no Internet connection. Tried contacting the developer but the email addy no longer exists. This item is no longer supported. Do not buy the full version.
