Dana Facaros and Michael Pauls are the authors of twenty-six Cadogan Guides covering every town and region of Italy. They started back in 1986, bringing up their children in an Umbrian village while exploring the country. Italy soon had its way with them, turning them (and the children) into hopeless, unrepentant foodies. In their travels, they always enjoyed taking notes on regional specialities and obscure delights, and these became the basis of this app.

This app is packed with lots of great information and it has the potential to be a great resource when exploring the culinary traditions of Italy. A caveat, though - improved organization and functionality is very much lacking at this point and search is desperately needed. The app should be free until it's made more functional.

An absolutely delightful, versatile, and useful app. Through thousands of text entries and colorful images, all of which can be linked through various filters, this app describes regional dishes, ingredients, and wines, including cuts of meat, types of cheeses. cookware and tableware, food festivals, and even a five minute grammar lesson to enhance the non Italian speaker's enjoyment of navigating this app. I would rate this 5 stars if it had a "search" function.

Been browsing this app trying to come up with anything it may have missed, and can't fault it. It even has pictures of all the entries, and some of the write-ups (like pane di Terni) made me laugh out loud. This will be getting heavy usage next time I go to Italy - and next time I make it to a decent Italian restaurant!

Comprehensive. Every entry is a good read. I found myself using it in Italian supermarkets.
