Maginon SmartPlug

Software works horribly. Keeps turning on/off randomly which scares the crap out of me when I'm about to fall asleep. Also, I used to have a timer turn on the light automatically in the morning to help wake me up but it never ever turned on. And now when I'm tossing and turning in bed because I can't fall asleep because I took enough caffeine to kill a small horse about 4 hrs ago, the light pops on when there are ZERO TIMERS SET. I either throw out this smart plug or I don't buy white sheets anymore.

Where can i buy more? I bought one at an ALDI food store, in Pennsylvania, USA, but they never brought more Smart Plugs. I like Maginon Smart Plug a lot and i want more.

The app works almost well. The timers and settings also work pretty efficiently. The primary everlasting, recurring issue is the app won't connect to the current state of the smartplugs, rendering the app useless at random.

Could use some extra features and a better way to organize schedules, but it does indeed do what it's supposed to :)

Same as other reviewers, schedules don't stay consistent.

Buggy! Timer control like a bad random joke!

Online server supposed to alllow preset on/off times for switch - but it seems to change randomly.

Hope they make a newer smaller more stable version. These are great

When you set the timer function. NEVER will it come on at the scheduled time. Just will come on and go off randomly all day and night. No matter how many times you you reset it.

It works but it logs you out randomly with no option for it to save your username and password. It's nice to be able to turn things on and off when I'm not home though. The scheduler also doesn't work anymore. It used to work but the timing was farther and farther off every day. It no longer works at all.

I wish there were more features for controlling the plug. One of the problems that really irritates me is the inability to program the actual plug to run on and off autonomously. The plug only appears to turn on and off if the handheld device is running the program AND is connected to the internet.

Installed and worked a few times. Switched itself on one night. Now wont connect to internet. Slow blinking green light only. Did multiple reinstall but nothing worked and is useless now. Cant even use on just local wifi.

I've had continual problems it doesn't recognize my Wi-Fi signal and I have to go through the entire setup process all over again this is happened twice and is very inconvenient since I installed them to use in my home when I'm far away at my other. There's no way for me to reset them when I'm not there so it's sort of a waste of time to have them in because I don't need them when I am.

Started off great, but lately the timers aren't working right at all. They keep coming on earlier and earlier. They are almost 8 hours off now. Adjusting the schedules or changing timezones seems to have no effect.

After getting the smartplug working it all the sudden stopped after a couple of days and since then I have not been able to get it to work again. reinstalled app, reinstalled the controllers. the smart plug doesn't light up showing that it's connected to the internet and doesn't respond to the app. Called customer services and they sent replacements. Now units install but on/off programming does not! Very unreliable!

It's a cloud service so it doesn't always come on or go off and I have not found a way to change my password..... update 9/2/16 so they added a sunset and sunrise on/off feature and it doesn't work either it is 1:07 pm here in Iowa and the light just turned on I'm pretty sure it is NOT sunset right now

Not for precise timing. Even on the proper time zone, the time creeps ahead until it is hours off. When you turn it on manually, it takes 5 to 10 seconds to respond at times. Getting worse.

I've had this for a while now, and the schedule has never worked for me. Not once. I enjoy the basic features of manually turning the lights on and off remotely.

I can't find where I can set the times to turn/off. There used to be that I could set the time for it to come on or go off. It made it nice to have it come on when my alarm goes off.

I have deleted and created different schedules and none of them seem to work right. It works fine turning it on and off from my phone.

Demands to make an account (what for???? it's a plug, not a bank account app) but there is no way to finish the action. So now I'm a proud owner of a useless brick.

Need to remove the app from the task manager before switching back to it. Also the server goes down from time to time.

Love this "Plugin" and app. I got two. They save me energy and money and work great. I run appliances that don't need to be on all the time, e.g. dehumidifier, cable box. Works great.

Constantly logs me out, throws errors, and generally is high maintenance.

The app in the product work pretty well most of the time if they added IFTTT support it would go up another star and a half.

The app only works half the time. Maybe it's my connection but it's irrating.

Wish i hadn't spent the money on this garbage. Can't keep a schedule if it had to.

I don't enter the house now to pitch black. I turn lights on from my driveway ..midnight snacks not a problem .

I love apps that have functionality and serve a purpose. Could be easier to set up but otherwise a great app.

I was able to reach customer service by email and now it's working again thank you.
