Fingerprint Gestures for Android
After getting the note 8 without root i was feeling lost. I love my remapped volume keys to skip music on the road with out looking at the screen. (Less dangerous) This app help solve it. I am able to use my finger print to unlock screen and tap scanner to skip music. Thanks. Even works with stock samsung music player and spotify. Other apps dont have music function. 5 stars.
Didn't work exactly how I wanted it to (was a bit slow) but that could be an issue with my expectations as opposed to the app. The Dev definitely has the right idea though and you can configure the fingerprint scanner to do a load of additional stuff. The app shortcut touchpad is pretty neat.
Cool concept but in practice isn't the greatest. Not only are the gestures kind of finicky but my biggest grief is that you can't use the gestures while the phone is asleep. For example, I wanted to use the app mostly to use my flashlight without having to wake the phone and swipe in before I could do the gesture. Because of this it doesn't even save me time, and that's if the gesture works the first time. I'll be back when there's improvements
I contacted Google support about this issue, and while you'll probably think the solution is stupid, another app recently updated to fix this problem. The newest version of android N changed the way quick settings tiles work. This means that any "old" quick settings tile based apps will not properly update their tile. For this reason, all "old" quick settings tiles are always grayed out no matter what.
won't work on OP3T (unrooted). I also had to activate the app in accessibility settings manually - wasn't asked to do so by the app. inexperienced people might never try that and think it doesn't work when it would. needs a lot of work, but design + idea are great.
Not very good. It's forever telling me to lock and unlock my phone to have it working. That's no use what so ever! It also stops the native swipe down for notifications on the pixel from working
Hello! I rated 1 star to get attention. I love this app. Its really grippy and nice. The only thing i hate is that it kinda bugs. Sometimes it works , sometimes it doesnt and that double tap delay... Single tap is also kinda slow. Sometimes I use single tap to get to my home screen ,but i have to double tap to make it work.Thank you for reading this ;3
The torch is unique as similar apps do not provide it. The UI is good but the gestures stop working after 3 days unless and until I open the app again. That's kind of a bummer. Solve this problem and I'll give you 5 stars.
It worked, but not like I wanted it to. I was hoping for to be able to scroll up and down through things using the fingerprint sensor. Doesn't do as exact as I wanted and is just a little to slow for me. Great start though
Dude I fell in love with app! I am just curious to know if it's feature scroll up/down work with instagram
It completely stops working whenever another uses the sensor. I have a app lock that uses the fingerprint sensor as well and it just stops when that kicks in. I know, I read it in the description that you need to lock your phone then unlock to get this thing running again. That's annoying! So sad, this has lots of potential. Why can't it just work together?
OK The Problem is with my device Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime. It supports only tapping, but no swiping.
Why is this app rated so low? I have my phone completely skinned like a pixel. But the app I used to bring the quick settings down was slow and unreliable. I got this app to replace it and the rating almost scared me away! However when I started using it I realized how smooth and reliable it is! The notification telling me that it's on is a little annoying, but other than that it's perfect! I don't understand these bad ratings at all and personally think this is one of the most useful apps available!
Why has this app got such a low rating? It is brilliant and does what it says on the tin. It is also very useful if you want to very quickly switch to an app like the calculator. Because my fingerprint sensor is on the side, the single tap feature can get a little annoying for me if my hand hits it by mistake but that's not the app's fault at all. The only problem I have is that the action doesn't always respond on the first attempt but the app is still amazing, thanks!
Really works well for me on my galaxy s7 edge. Can easily pull down the notification shade with a quick swipe on the fingerprint scanner.. Double tap didn't work yet..
UPDATE: After the last update (or the one prior?) the app no longer works. It clearly is "seeing" my touches, but the associated action no longer works. I have not changed my phone config, so I think it's the app. Good app, liked it enough to pay for ad-free version. Really enhances one-handing use on the Nexus 6p by allowing you to go BACK by tapping your fingerprint reader. That alone sells this app for me. The problem is it always gets killed, and needs to be restarted. Not sure why, but I suspect that Doze kills it. I use "aggressive Doze" in the Greenify app, so my phone dozes a lot. Just a theory. If this could be fixed, that'd be tops.
Its a great ap, from what im reading in the reviews that people are saying it's slow is because of how fast your phones finger print sensor can detect your finger print. In using an automatically edge and it works super quick
Beautiful idea but sadly hasn't worked well for me. After enabling app I can single tap home a few times then it's like the service stops working suddenly. If you reply maybe I can help with logcat or something.
Works but a bit slow. Result isn't as fast as you'd expect. So, it is working, you can try it but definitely not something you'll find yourself using.
SO AWESOME! It really does what it says. Very fast on my S7 and very accurate. It took me a minute to to figure out that the "swipe" is a swipe in a horizontal direction and not a vertical, but once I realized that it works perfectly
Love the idea - exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately it literally doesn't work on my phone (pixel). Like it does nothing
Very stable and smooth. Every other app I tried would crash or didn't work properly. I haven't had an issue at all with this app
It doesn't work properly on old devices. I struggled to get consistent results on my old galaxy S5 fingerprint scanner. But I guess it's okay for newer phones.
I was able to set up this fingerprint scanner on my HTC 10 to work perfectly with this app. However every time I turn the screen off the app doesn't reload itself immediately so it's wonderful functionality stops and I have to load it in order to get it to work again. Sometimes that works. I'm trying a work around with Tasker. Sometimes it works.
Always saying lock and unlock your phone to use, sometimes it crashes showing notification to retry and that aside it's not fluid as I thought it would be, accessibility service goes off by itself and too slow to regocnise fingerprint.
Not very reliable. Seems that running almost any app will cause it to error out. I have it set to open the notifications panel but as it turns out I have to open the notifications label the old way so I can hit retry and open the notifications panel the new way. Duh.
It works great as an app, but together with my N6P, it effectively breaks Google Assistant from properly listening, regardless of whether I have Assistant linked to a gesture in the app or not. It works again when I disable the app. I tested and retested over a few days.
Update: after testing and validating the app unfortunately i realized that the app is un stable, i hate having apps on my notification menu but even with showing the app on it the app become not responsive from time to time ???? and i have to reopen it to re activate functionality, im not using any task killer app, can you fix this issue ?, please reply to me, i'm using SMG S5 5.0 thank you. ***** It's a great idea to add another functionality/shortcut to fingerprint scaner ! The only gesture i'm using is the double tap but it's actually a double swipe/slide on my samsunng galaxy S5 (5.0) fingerprint sensor, i used it to open Icon touch menu with some apps shortcuts as a control center for my device ????, ** My only question is does it affect my phone fingerprint life time in anyway ?? , please answer , Thanks in advanced.
Useless - didn't work for single, double or triple tap. All it did is provide a permanent sticky notification telling me an error occurred and to lock and unlock my device.
I don't see the point for the middle icon fixed just for app setting. It would definitely be better if I can remove it. Also it would be better if u can have 2 or 3 end to end rows, each rows having upto 5 columns.
Some functions like screen shot (root) or which ever function which has root in bracket are not working. I need info about it. Pls help. Otherwise good app
Great app. However, can you please fix the persistent notification issue in Oreo? Thank you
Didn't work as expected and very slow. But I believe the API callbacks are to be blamed hence 3 stars. I hope they improve the API's in Android O.
Great app but I have a question that why can't we move the finger up and down to scroll in that direction? The scanner can detect the direction of movement as seen in the pixel's native swipe for notifications feature. Why can't the developers use that in the app?
To get it to work, you have to enable the fingerprint gesture (in the app). Then you have to go to settings, accessibility, and allow fingerprint gesture from there. It'll ask if the app can observe you. Click yes. If you don't take this extra step, the app won't work for you
Constantly stops working, keeps telling me to lock and unlock my device to try again, but it doesn't help
Doesn't work. Tried it on a rooted pixel using the apps root features. Nothing happens...ever. other apps of this type at least did something. Unfortunate.
Very slow app, doesn't work well. Uninstalled and happy about uninstalling this super slow app which doesn't work well.
Great idea and when it works it's super helpful. For some reason it seems to be working less and less. Doesn't work about 70%of the time.

Nice functionality. But I have two gripes. (1) the threshold between single tap and swipe are way too close. There's practically no differentiation between them. When you do single tap, it randomly chooses to respond as single tap or as gesture. Just tapping slightly off angle by a fraction of a millimeter will be interpreted as swipe. You basically has to do a 100% perfect perpendicular tap to be able to register a single tap, which is of course impossible to do every time. (2) there's no ability to use this when phone is on standby. Would have been perfect to use this to trigger flashlight without waking up phone.
