EpicWin - RPG style to-do list for Android
I have tried a lot of different productivity apps including habitica but none of them motivate me like this one. I like how simple it is. The only thing that would make it better is if we could lose hitpoints or experience for not completing tasks.
5 years ago this app helped me with accountability regarding chores, classwork and exercise. I need to improve myself again and I came right back. Best to-do list I've used!!
I've loved using this so far, much more fun than ticking things off a list. Some possible improvement - the avatars could have different quests so you can have separate lists. An automatic arrangement of quests based on epicness. I use it for routine daily stuff and bigger things, but the big things end up lower down the list under the little things. Otherwise keep up the epicness
Every day tasks give me anxiety and this app makes going about trivial tasks easier because I'm more focused on leveling up than I am about the difficulty of the task. This has really helped motivate me to get out of my post partum slump and kick into gear. Thank you.
Have a new category of tasks that count as random events. By completing other tasks events might appear to reward the player. For example: player completes xtask and an event comes up with reward or penalty( - 2 or +2 episodes of show. ) add a rewards and penalties random event list.
Fun app to add a bit more incentive to your chores. I found the prompt to list them by point value and category had me listing things I would normally keep in the some-day pile of my chores.
The program works as expected and I find I use it a lot. The single biggest problem is when moving a task to another day or when a recurring task is scheduled. I may have over 40 tasks on a day. Some are always performed in the morning, some always in the evening, etc. Each day I spend a lot of time reorganizing them for that day. Some priority system to keep them at least close to the right time would help. Forcing the alarm to help now but that is not a solution.
Very much enjoying the idea of travelling through daily and long-term challenges and collecting loot depending on how far you go. I would like to be able to have something more interactive with this app that incorporates the avatars that you create. Achievements could be things they could wear / use, for instance. Or even mini games / travelling to new places. Also I would like some more customizable features of your avatar rather than just the original choice of 5 characters.
It is pretty boring. It doesn't make you want to adventure and level up your character. Also, there is no way to level up two skills (if I work out, it is both stamina AND strength) so I have to create the same task twice for it to level up correctly. The design also keeps a lot to be desired. Also the lack of the social aspect makes it even less inspiring. It is cleaner than other apps of the same type but the functionality is extremely limited. Also the avatars are very few and there is not much choice. Probably deleting soon.
Easy to set up. Incentivizes finding and completing chores. Even helps me lose weight by reminding me to use my fitness app as a quest. I do wish I could have quests reoccour immediately or at least same day. Like loads of laundry, I do 3-4 loads of laundry on some days and only 1 load on others. I'd like to easily count them separately without creating a new quest each time.
Great app for getting things done. Cute and fun to use. Easy interface without clutter or to many options. Just set a score for a chore and do it. Would be great if you could get rewards that can be spent for real world treats. I reward myself by playing a video game or watching TV when I level up or skip all chores of a type for a day when the stat increases. However there is no way to register this in the app.
Its definitely great for me....but i do think that all apps that try to make doing chores fun works initially only and we begin to get get bored of it as we will need to do more to level up and thats all it seems to really do so far...... The loot, levelling up, the avatars, and the looks are definitely FANTASTIC for me but lacks something to really make this stick with me... however, i read that they are still developing the app to improve it (game wise) and i am really looking forward to it.
Turns your daily life into a charmingly cute fantasy world, we're all of your daily tasks turn into EPIC QUESTS! As you complete quests your character gains experience that push him to discover some hilariously self aware loot. I just wish there was some encounter system, or random events that players can gain/discover on their quests. Still solid for the To do List.
I have been having problems getting motivated to do stuff but this truely helps because I want that xp XD! But as other ratings have said is that it's not really personalized and I would agree to make it more game-like, or maybe adding a normal. As of now is working but I just know that I'm going to get bored of it eventually. And I literally just hit lvl 1. Still a great app though would recommend.
Definitely a great behavioral tool--it really helps add salience to the tasks! I like the different areas, it's a good way to track areas that are maybe neglected. It also helps to better conceptualize each goal. My only criticism is the lack of ability to 'do' any RPG type tasks with earnings. I expected more of that from the reviews. Hopefully they expand on that to help keep up interest and added value in finishing goals :).
Really nice graphic design, but still too limited. This is the first "gamefied" task list that I find that really looks and feels like a game, but it still lacks a lot of features: there are no social features; no way to view or sort tasks by priority or categories — actually you can't even create categories; it's not possible to create tasks with checklists; you can get loot from tasks but can't do anything with them etc. I won't use this app yet, but I will keep it in my phone as I want to be aware of its updates. I hope more features are added soon so it can be more useful and fun. [Edited: then I scroll down the page and I see that its last update was in 2015... Well, no need to keep it in the phone then...
Funny melodrama. I'm surprised by how much happier it makes me feel about having taken my pills or shifted the laundry! I use it to help me keep track of and motivated about daily or regularly occuring tasks. I like to give tasks melodramatic titles, like "Begin the laundry ritual" or "fold the laundry of darkness, lest it haunt thee on the morrow." I also like how it divides tasks into categories that include "spiritual" and "social". That reminds me to do things that make me happier every day.
I've missed every task I listed using this app, mostly because there is no widget, therefore no visual display other than the pokey little notifications in top left corner. I can't use sound because I'm deaf. Load screen takes a little while sometimes but it's free so that has to be considered. If it had a widget, it would be 60% more useful.
Really good app, makes it easy to organise your tasks. I wish you could actually do something with the items you gain, equip them to your avatar, fight some bad guys! Currently your stats, level and items are just for show and don't actually do anything. I like the app but feel I'll get bored with it soon.
Fun graphics, sounds, and background music. Funny & cool characters. Artistically the *best* RPG-style to-do app out there. Other, similar apps have more features, but they treat graphics and sound as a complete afterthought. Mistake. This app does it right! Make it look and feel cool, and flesh out the features later. Can't wait to see how it develops.
I really like it it's fun to have, I'm really starting to build a nice schedule of things to achieve daily and weekly. The only thing is I can't see a way to delete tasks I didn't achieve, except to leave them on the overdue list. I'd prefer if I could delete some tasks without giving myself the points as some form of accountability. But that's just a small thing it's great all around.
It's great, but I really want the update for the Android version. From what I understand, iPhones have it. =/ Anyway, I haven't gotten so much done in such a short time before! This app is great and the developers should keep up with it for people who struggle to complete daily tasks.
After looking at some of the other task list things, this one was the best. Pros: great graphics (I love the designs) and ease of use. Cons: like every game task list, I find that none of them have any real motivation to actually use it. More customisable characters, fights, hell, just a plot would make it better.
Great lmotivational tool. I don't use it for single time tasks, but only for long term repeated efforts. The most important improvement would be in the UI. Somehow the event management does not feel standard. For example I often open up tasks while I only want to scroll the screen. Hence the four stats.
I really like this app. It's very helpful and aesthetically pleasing, but it keeps force closing on me now unless I tap on something very quickly. I haven't even had it for a week. I would rate it 5☆ if I could open it normally anymore
The first time I try this app, I feel amazed by how exquisite the graphic was. But then when I add a task with a reminder, there's no notifications in my phone when the task is due. So maybe that's the only thing lacked here, which I don't know if its a bug or this app don't have a proper notification system. Please fix.
This is a great way to motivate yourself, it's fun and really works. I mean it doesn't work as well for me, but that's just because I am very forgetful, so I forget it's even there. But when I do remember it, it really motivates me. Also, I'm a skeleton, childhood dream accomplished. I was a weird child.
Great app. I like the loot system but I wish it was more useful. If there was a battle system with enemies that you could use the loot against this would be the best damn productivity app on the market. It already pretty much is. The loot just feels useless.
I really love it. I miss only one simple option - to set a task to repeat itself on "No due date". A simple example - I am writing a paper and I want to earn 100 points for each page. Now I don't want to go every time to Completed tasks and click on "Do it again", but I don't want it to come as tomorrow's task either. Could you please introduce this possibility? Otherwise it's perfect! PS: Sometimes I miss a wizard class:P
Really puts you in the mood for strapping in on getting things done. Only things I could think it could use on first glance is a way to organize your tasks, and possibly even a personal journal to leave entries on your travels. I think people would spend more time using this app if it had more personal qualities that connected them to their avatars. I have more ideas if you want to hear them for 5 stars...
I have a child on the autism spectrum. Trying to get him to move through his day while completing all of his tasks in a timely, efficient manner without tantrums can be daunting. Since downloading this app on his tablet, he is eager to earn his XP and watch his avatar level up! I wish there were more animations to make it seem even more game-like. This app has fostered a sense of independence in a child with little confidence. We love Epic Win and a lot of my fellow ASD parents are using it too. Thank you!!

Great app so far. Visually nice, and simple to use. Noticed some very minor issues with laggy touch response not attributed to my device, but that's about it. The only feature this really needs is a friends list, maybe with battles or some type of leader board. Would help with encouragement to complete tasks.
I like that it gives you an avatar and base stats to level up. It really helped me put things into order too. I just wished it had a mini game somewhere, so I can see my avatar in battle :))
Hi guys. This app is awesome! However the interaction with app is not much smooth! Scrolling through tasks is hectic and also while scrolling randomly task opens up for editing! Fix it! Then surely you deserve 5 stars. Thanks
The apps graphics are smooth, and its really user friendly. My only gripe is the items obtained have a literal zero value, since no boss fights. Add random battles and this a a 10 out of 5 app
If you are looking to get organized and get things done, but can't stand the tedium of normal ToDo list apps, this is a fun alternative. It lacks advanced features for recurring tasks, projects, labels, etc. It makes up for this with loads of personality. It's most unique feature is the ability to tie each task to your character's stats (strength, intelligence, etc.)
I've been dying to use this app for a long time, and generally it's exactly what I hoped! It even seems to be running smoother for me than for a lot of people. For some reason however I get NO sound. A wee little bug I guess.
Loving the app, but it really needs a widget to show me my task list without opening the app. On, the plus side, it lets me schedule repeats in odd increments like returning library books every 3 weeks. Would be even better if I could add even more complex repeats like 1st Tuesday after first Monday of the month.

At first I thought it was a game.. NOPE it's a game/To do list.. it has helped me so much!! And it reminds u! Like let's say U have a quest "Work Out" and it has a specific time for it, it will remind you until I finish it!
