SubAssistant for Frontline Absence Management for Android
It seems to be a good app. If you don't have a data plan on your phone you cannot accept available jobs. I'm just getting notified of all the jobs I'm missing out on.
I like that it first notifies the school that needs subs. Sometimes I would accept a job offer and it worked. Other times I accepted (a few times) and it would tell me it was already reseved for another sub only to have a phone call for the same job offer. Most of the time they really were already accepted by other subs.
I'm paying for something I can't utilize in the past it worked but now I am not getting any jobs.
I get notifications but within 3 or 4 seconds they are locked or taken I have had very little success getting an actual job off this app
I like it but I haven't got a text or notification
Works well and allows me some extra sleep. I get as many jobs as I'd like. Thanks!
Great app for subs. Don't need to constantly be searching for jbs.
It is a great tool for being alert when jobs open up
Gets work quickly and easy to use
Works like a charm
It's great
Gotta be the Flash to grab these assignments. I do like the ease and alert options for when assignment come through. I just hope that we are ALL getting them at the EXACT same time... I just find it hard to believe that an assignments can pop up and be gone within a millisecond. On another note, I would suggest adding "notes" for the assignments so that we can see what we are volunteering for as in aesop online. Otherwise, it has proved handy for grabbing assignments that NEVER make it to aesop online.
It was wonderful while it was compatible with Smartfind. TDSB has blocked the use of apps like these with CAPTCHA. I have no choice but to uninstall this app. This is a sad day for me. Is there any chance that you could integrate CAPTCHA bypass software?
I have recently tried this app with Smart Find Express and it certainly does work well. I am simply concerned about the safety and legality of the product. Does the use of this app break any of the rules, laws, or policies associated with Smart Find Express? I do not want to have my career hurt by the use of this app.
Was a great app until recently. App has no way of getting through the reCAPTCHA on 2 of the districts I work in and SubstituteAssistant has stated they have no intention of developing a technology to circumvent this, despite the fact that it is, in fact, possible. I've spoken with several developers who have told me it's possible.
SubAssistant texts you the second a job becomes available, then it's down to whoever has the fastest and most accurate finger selecting the URL Hyperlink. The advantage over the other couple of similar Apps out there (like Jobulator) is that this is a one-&-done click process, whereas the others have two or more layers to click through. Your proximity to WiFi or the coverage of your cell carrier is also going to affect lost jobs if your click doesn't load as quickly as someone with a stronger signal. This one gives you the best odds.
I like the app, it was working well. Now it tells me my free trial has expired. I didn't know there was a free trial period. And I'm not finding any way to figure out how much it cost to sign up or continue the service, is just says it's expired. Give me some help here.
In the last few weeks, my success rate has gone from 80% to practically zero. I am told a job is filled, but AESOP still has it available. Nothing has changed. Re-upping up in the air.
I have been using the app for a couple weeks now. I get several notifications a day, but even if I hit accept within seconds of recieving one, the job is always gone. I was hoping this would be much better and that my work would increase
I clicked on a job to see more and it started accepting jobs I didn't want! Hopefully, I backed out in time as they are not listed in AESOP, but I'm unsure and will have to call in the morning. I think the acceptance part is too easy. It may have been user error on my part....but I had to uninstall. Not worth the anxiety. Sorry.
Even though I'm a paid subscriber, there are many times where sub assistant doesn't notify me of a job even though I can see there are many jobs posted on my board's smartfind site! Makes me have to reconsider cancelling my subscription because it's becoming a waste of money!! Definitely not recommended!!
Hate the fact that I have to pay to work! Why can't this app just be free?! Anyone know I free app I can use for work!
The fact that this is only a free trial is hidden in the fine print. Misleading and disappointing.
So far so good!! Love how it notifies me as soon as an assignment is available. Now that my free trial is over I'm having a difficult time signing up.
I have used several of the Substitute applications and sub assistance is by far the easiest and the most productive in regards to receiving and accepting jobs. It's a little more expensive then the rest but it's well worth it. ☺
I downloaded SubAssistant simultaneously with using Jobulator. Jobulator is working flawlessly while I frequently get a pop-up message in SubAssistant saying "cannot connect with SubAssistant servers". I know it's not my network connection because everything else, incl. Jobulator is working without problems. SubAssistant has therefore proven useless. Too bad, as I wanted a monthly service alternative to Jobulator's yearly service agreement (although Jobulator it's much cheaper than SubAssistant).
Email alerts only come after a ten minute delay. Jobs are all ready taken. Totally useless.
After awhile it just stopped sending me notifications. I followed all the steps on the website to fix it but nothing has helped.
I had this app for a few months (August 2014) and everything was working well. Of course you had the few glitches here and there but they were minor. I started to have problems on November 18th when they released an update and I updated the app. Now, I receive no job notification and I am beginning to see the effects on that. I waste more hours on the computer looking for jobs daily. This app was good while it worked but now it sucks. I look forward for them to fix it soon since it was really useful. For now I decided to cancel my subscription since it has become useless. I even emailed customer service about this issue but all I received back was "we'll look into it", hence I cancel my subscription.
Good
Most jobs are taken within 3 minutes... So you have to be quick. By the time I look at my calendar, the job has been filled. So, you really need to be proactive and know your dates before Sub Assistant contacts you. You snooze you lose in this business!
It works ok, but too many times jobs will show on the app and it is not even available to accept.
The best way to get job alerts!
Love this app!!!!!
Helpful. Works as expected.
Substitute teacher
I have not been receiving job notifications via text since about 09/21/16. I contacted them a couple of times through email but nothing happened. I am now receiving job notifications via text through Substitute Alert. I just canceled my account with Sub Assistant. Too bad but Sub Alert is better. It synchs jobs with the calendar on your phone, a really cool feature. Disappointed, but happy to be moving on to a better product.
Having problems with the fact I signed up with $20 on my subscription then found out there was a free trail. I should have the $20 left yet but I am being told I don't
I really liked using the app. I want to continue, but don't know how to subscribe and the cost.

Seems to fetch jobs slight faster than the other app I've used for 2 years, BUT definitely needs the following features: 1. Automatic Calendar Syncing (this is a biggie!), 2. Built-in Notification Ringtones--you have to rely on the stock tones on your mobile device and these are not very "alerting." 3. Lower price--I only pay $4.95 for all of the above (except for texts, but those aren't useful anyway since you can't accept jobs directly from them). Add those features and I'd definitely be sold!
