Write for Android
This is BY FAR the best note keeping application out there! I am using Dropsync to syncronize the files across my devices. Creates HTML and svg output that you can open without the app as well! If you have trouble importing your write files after the update to 6.0.1, backup your files (don't miss this step or your files will be lost), uninstall and reinstall the app, copy the files back in the write directory, and import. Worked for me. Yay!
There no updates. Developers have stopped supporting it altogether. Even the Write Beta was last updated in 2014. It keeps growing the pages down when I near the end. I've had to revert back to S Note due to frustration and poor support. It was a nice app though. Good while it lasted.
Vector recq. Works excellent! Add planar view change document into full width will give possibility to write longer words.. recognition seems to work except when handwriting like my sister's doctors cryptic hieroglyphs come into it. Understandable... ;-) Good work volks, keep on! App will be on our list of top 100 next month. Cheers.
The app works wonders, but I need more from it. I would like it to be able to sync to my other devices so I can see my notes everywhere else. This would enhance productivity a ton, trust me. Finally, when I rename my documents, I want the file to have that name also. Right now, when the document in the app is renamed, it is just in the app. The files are just random numbers and I cannot tell which one is which unless I rename it again there in the files folder. That is very inefficient.
I really like the app, but I've noticed on the Galaxy Note II it seems to not want to open notes after a while, which is pretty much counterproductive. A fix or even a workaround would increase my impression of Write would greatly increase my overall rating of it.
This is by far the best note taking app out there, but it can still be improved. My biggest complaint is that there isn't a way to export multiple notes as pdf at one time. Also being able to delete more than one at a time would be cool. It really needs a shape tool too. I'd pay for those features.
This is word processing with handwriten text (without text recognition). Great for actual writing. Papyrus had an unstable charging system, and I wasn't up for paying three times for the same feature. The HTML format will be around and readable forever. Well thought-out app with a defined purpose and features to match.
Would like to see other features implimented, most likely to come in time. One hopes. I would like to comment though. As some one made the statement that this is better than Papyrus. And in some ways it is, but, as I see it. And of course this is my opinion and not a standing one though, it can not import a document. PDF or others, that I can see. Though, that is not an important feature to every one. Regardless, this is a good beginnings for this app. Hope the dev takes this further.
In almost all aspects this is better than papyrus and lecture notes, bookmarking, rule eraser and add space are great options. However, only drawback I see is that there is no option to type text. This ability to switch between typing and handwriting is present in all the other tablets EDIT !!! Guys any of you having problem with not having cloud storage use app dropsync. it automatically syncs your backup folder in sd card with dropbox.
But can't use it yet because it does not support PDF import, all my notes are in papyrus and I have no way to port them to write without first screenshoting every single one of my notes which I'm not prepared to do. Add this feature and I will give full 5 stars and a sixth if I could
Very good and fresh approach. I especially appreciate the open format of the notes and the fact that there is a complementary desktop application... so it is possible to generate notes on both Windows and Android. The application needs some improvements.. but it writes smoothly on a tablet. It misses the possibility to add voice notes or other types of file attachments.
Like someone recently said, it sometimes creates documents you cannot open again. Once i lost a few important notes, i stopped using it. You can see the notes in the list, but when you click on them it does nothing and they are gone for good since you cannot store them in a normal format. Other than this, it's the best note taking app.
This app totally replaced S Note on my tablet and kicks Papyrus' a** for note taking. Being able to move your written text around at will makes it like a note pad and word processor all in one. I emailed the developer with a suggestion and he replied with 45 min. As soon as he updates with the ability to turn off the back back so I don't keep hitting it accidentally, I will upgrade this to 5 stars.
An excellent well thought out app. My only grip being left handed is that my hand continuously pulls down the Android notification bar. So please could you add a full screen option?
Love the web view! Take notes so much quicker writing than typing on tab. Not sure if I just haven't figured it out yet but would be great to have a write to text option. Would make essay writing easier.
First I would like to thank you on making this app free without ads! Not very many devs are as nice to do this. We need more developers like you. This is a very nice note taking app, I don't have anything major to complain about. I would like to suggest adding palm rejection that works with your finger or capacitive stylus. I do have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 from 2012, but I also have non-note phones without dedicated styluses. Palm rejection would be nice as the app can't tell a difference between a normal stylus and fingers or palms. I think it would be nice for you to make a setting for ads you can turn on in settings for those who want to support you, but default them to off. I can't have ads myself, as I have very limited Tracfone data.
I use this on my Galaxy Note 8. Works flawlessly, quick and with plenty of options for basic note taking. I was using the included software suite for the S-pen but this leaves nothing to be desired and the way that it incorporates taking notes and writing.
The deal breaker in an app of this type is the inability to disable the back key. I have been waiting and hoping for this function in an update, but nothing so far. It can't be that difficult to implement? Otherwise excellent, it's quick and simple and not loaded down with unnecessary clutter.
I can't say that this app really.... Well how do I put this..... Well, this app was not good for taking notes, reminders, or anything I expected it to be for that matter. I would rather spend five bucks at my local Walmart for a REAL notebook, than use this. The design was bad, because I couldn't read my own writing, because every time I try to write something, it doesn't matter how much I try, the line doesn't follow my finger. I would rather use this as a drawing app than a writing app.
I'm trying this on the Note 10.1 2014 edition but it is registering my Palm as a zoom or pan action and makes it impossible to write. I disabled all inputs other than the pen I'm it's settings and use it like this. Other shortcomings: no sync between your phone and tablet. 2) No image editing, not even a simple one
I was looking for a long time for a app like this. Works great on my note ll. Ever since kitkat 4.4.2 up grade pages will not open to full size...Help
These lines are tiny. You'd have to zoom in and pan around constantly if you wanted to use this. If I had a stylus maybe I could write with this, but I'm going to need something tailored to finger input. Plus, everything is ugly.
The only thing missing is a way to rotate pictures. Even just in 90 degree intervals would do. But as i say very good and even more so as its free!
I searched through and tried many, many apps. This one is unbelieveable! I passed it over several times before actually viewing the video and found everything I needed to create a handwritten cookbook to be given to my family. My daughter insisted that I hand write it, this way I only have to do it once!! THANK YOU!!
Hope you developers will continue adding functions, make it in a plus version and charge at least $5 so you get the inspiration to continue! I would like: Understandable filename Possibility to disable of return button A global bookmark view for all bookmarks or for all in a selected folder Possibility to add reminders or actions for a bookmark Tip: for sharing a note, open it, select menu-send document
I see why it is liked but I would rather it has a keyboard on it aswell so that I am able to write neatly. Instead I just get reminded of how horrible and unsteady I am to use the stylus using my note 2
I was taking notes in class and I guess I accidentally clicked the back button. Now I can't open that document and I don't know why. There are no errors or anything. It responds to being pressed, just does not open.
I love this app and use it all the time. One thing that would make it perfect would be the ability to send documents to a print service such as HP or Google cloud print. Is that possible? At the moment I export to pdf and print from that but to print directly would be great.
It doesn't try to do any fancy text conversion, that's what notebook apps and a good handwriting recognition keyboard are for, instead it just gives you good control of handwritten text that can forcibly follow ruled lines and be selected as if it were text. Definitely best with a digitized stylus though as input would be unreadable otherwise.
Had been using this app for a year. Love everything about the app, easy to use, inserting lines.. only thing is I can't view nor edit file from my phone. No multi device sharing function.
Write is wonderful as it is easy to be customized. Unlike Papyrus which leave user no choice with preset size, space could be automatically added whenever the writing reach right or bottom of page. Cons : Panning with 2 fingers is still a hassle :-( There is a bug where undo button goes missing when input mode is switched to disable all touch controls and enable panning at same time. P. S :It could benefit from immersive mode .aka full screen mode
So far this is the best stylus note taking app so far. I prefer to write down my notes with a pen and paper but during a commute it is compact, portable, and accessible. This app's best features are its auto-insert space reflow, space insertion, and favorite pens. I gave this app 4 stars because it's not entirely user and visually friendly. Some improvements that can be made are the ability to add/make audio files, audio file markers, vids, pics, and needs less directory-styled and more notebook coherence.

I would love the ability to combine text and and handwriting in same document. I am a huge evernote user but don't like the color limitations and inability to move my handwriting around on the screen if i need more room to add another idea in the middle. It does import into evernote but then I can't edit it. So I will begin using this app w drive to go cross platform.
I own a galaxy note 10.1 and a very frustrated one because not a single app out there could meet my very basic demands.. that is an app that can actually write properly without any major major annoyances and lackings. For example we have metamoji supposed to be a big big thing, they even went to the biggest corporations to market their product and promote it as the best and the thing does not even have palm rejection. I tried all of them and sent all of them to the bin. The major features I liked: exports to PDF without distortions in the pdf reader. MY writing is consistant. In Bamboo note my writing style was not vectored properly in the left edge. Palm rejection is a big help. Many others did not even have this. Adds a photo and allows me to resize inside. Perfect. When I erase it swaps back to the writing mode automatically. This is practical and intelligently made and earns from me a 5 stars. I look forward to pay for a new version to support it. And looking forward to any new features and improvements: book shelfing for example: bamboo note style would be perfect. Tiny change is the default pen size. Too small. Must be about 2.0 as default instead of 1.0.
I love this apps, I use this app on galaxy note 8. If you are looking for an app to work with spen smoothly, than this app is the right answer for you.
Palm detection is not at all working. If done, I would really think about buying and spreading a word.
I've tried several apps for my Note 3, looking for one that allowed me to most seamlessly use the S Pen to capture images from my screen and easily integrate them into a handwriting app to annotate them. I find this to be the most intuitive and simple app for doing that.
I have a Samsung Note 4 and this app is awesome. It works very smoothly and looks and feels just like writing on paper. Its very versatile and can be tailored to my liking. Keep up the good work. It would be perfect if you could offer an insert feature that allows for the date and other specific words like "Subject, Attn, etc". It would make note taking even faster. GREAT JOB!

I like it, but I need it to actually change the file names (of the svg and html) after renaming a document inside the app. The windows version handles this better, since your are prompted for a name after creating a new note- which is actually reflected in the real files, not just inside the app. Whild we are at it, I would like the structure withing the app (folders/files) to be reflected in the actual file directory. Right now all notes are stored in the main app folder. Thanks for this cross platform app!
