Stray Boots

Did one of the DC tours with my 2 sons and husband. All four of us had a blast and none of the boys knew they were learning along the way. We walked for about 2 hours and saw many sights we never would have if not for the app talking us there. Super fun. Highly recommended!

This was my second scavenger hunt with Stray Boots and they did not disappoint. We split in two teams and made a contest out of it. Great way to spend the afternoon!

Questions are not always interesting and the app doesn't even recognize partial answers... Definitely isn't worth 12bucks per person.

Good idea, poor app and boring tour. So poor that we did not use the free offer to give the tour to someone else. Overpriced as you need to buy 1 place for each person in your team.

After installing have a lot of spam windows (pop up windows). Can't close this application. Need to use Force Stop. Uninstalling right now.

I just downloaded it and whenever I click on a tour anywhere in Utah, it opens the browser to a page that cannot be found.

At first, I tried to install the app on my 2011 HTC phone, but apparently it's too old to run the app. So I installed it on my tablet instead, but whenever I try to load my tour, it crashes. I've tried going from the home page, from "browse tours," and "my account," and I've also tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it still keeps crashing. I'm very disappointed, especially because I bought 2 tours 3 years ago, when they were just text-based (no app) and was very satisfied then.

I used this on a date and it was very well received! I highly recommend it.

My husband and I have done 2 different tours so far and we love them! It's a great way to check out a new city because you get lots of cool facts that you wouldn't know about the area otherwise. It's an affordable fun thing to do when you have a couple hours.

Used this to explore the Met and was not disappointed. Would definitely recommend this as a good way to explore and find out fun facts.

We've done two Stray Boots tours now (minneapolis and Chicago ). We split into two teams and did it as a race. One team had to have a head start though because the course is the same for everyone. They should make it randomized so you really can do it as a race! It's a lot of fun that way. The process of purchasing a tour and activating it could be streamlined. We stood on a street corner for a while entering info and having to flip between the app and email. Really love this as way to see city!

SO MUCH FUN! I have done two Stray Boots tours (both in NYC). I have been in the City 20+ times and never managed to see as much and get as much of a true 'experience' as when I BOOT it. Really, Really love it.

Lead to a boring path

Stray Boots is a great interactive game when you're city hopping. Happy they're on Android.

I cannot express how much I love Stray Boots. I recommend them and hashtag them all the time!! My husband and I just moved to DC and we really enjoyed seeing the city and hidden treasures of DC that even people who have lived here longer had no idea about!! I just love it!!

Looked good but only US based and no free sample to see the app in action.

So, so much fun. I have done three now in Philly with my young girls (11,13) and we all enjoy the challenge and the bonding. And we always learn so many things that we otherwise would have taken for granted. A MUST for families!

I've played before when you had to use Mobile Web, but now with this app the game is so much better and interactive. I learned a lot about my own city while playing this game and discovered some really interesting and delicious places (Try one of the food tours) that I would never have tried before. Definitely worth a playing in your own city or while traveling around the country.

My husband and I did this during the afternoon before going to a comedy show. CON: We used a groupon for this, and I'm not sure if that's the reason there were a million steps or not, but it took forever to get started. We had to go to this site and that site and enter codes and install and the codes were wrong because they are case sensitive, and it just took way longer and was frustrating because we weren't sure it was going to work. PRO: When we got it working and got to the starting point, it was wonderful. We saw different parts of the city that we would have never gone to and the clues and facts we very interesting. CON: At the starting point, it then told us where to go and gave directions (for the first few clues). After that it would just say "find...such and such", but did not give us any directions (left, right, cross streets, etc.) We ended up wandering around and then skipping quite a few clues until we got to one that at least gave us a place to cross reference. Only got through 1/3 of tour because of this. (We had tickets to a comedy show). SYNOPSIS: We DID have a great time, but will need to allow more time to get started and not have anywhere to be after.

The second I open the app, it crashes. I've tried uninstalling in and reinstalling it, but nothing works. Its a shame, really.

We wanted to try it, but it crashed every single time I restated the app. Tried it about 10 times before I gave up. :(

I played the Downtown Portland tour and enjoyed it a lot! It was a great way to spend an afternoon and didn't take too long either. You are able to go at your own pace and after the tour the app recommends a place to eat nearby. The app is great and I didn't have any problems with it. It is very user friendly :)

A friend and I did 2 Stray Boots self-guided tours of Nashville, TN. So FUN! It's a great way to explore the city you live in or a city you're visiting. Highly recommended. Will do it again!

Horrible app. Keeps crashing. 1 star. UPDATE: After a 25 minute experience with tech support, they comped me the experience and we used my wife's iPhone. Awesome tour, awesome experience. They just should make the Android version work.

We had so much fun exploring our city using Stray Boots! I can't wait to go to the other cities and play there too!

A great game to play, and well worth the price!

This is an excellent way to dig into a new city. Started by trying out a tour in my local area, just to see if I'd like the app, and I ended up learning more about South Beach than I ever have on my own. Louisiana after dark was great too. Definitely recommended for the adventurous.

This was a great way to learn about and explore a new city. The app was so easy to use. The tour was set up very logically. I would do this again in any other city I visit.

My wife and I had a date in San Francisco and played the Chinatown tour. We both really enjoyed the opportunity to dig a bit deeper and had a great time. I look forward to playing all the SF games and will also likely try them when we vacation as well!

My boyfriend and I did the Perfect Date tour in NYC. We had a blast doing the scavenger hunt. It was also fun to learn facts and history about each challenge completed. We can't wait to try another tour soon!

This was fun! I played the Serious Treats one with my girlfriends -it really shows you a range of unique (delicious) spots, and since we all got to do it on our phones I could take notes and remember the ones I liked. I'll definitely be hitting up chickalicious again! Huge improvement from when I did a tour last year, don't even think they had an app.
