This card is now a paper weight. I can't even log in to this app or the new app. I can't even log in to the website. What a waste no support at all.

X70%
by X####:

Pretty bad...

X70%
by X####:

Double tapping my card does not progress the app to the next step of the set up process. LEDs flash on the card, but nothing happens after that. Will update once fixed.

After a long wait for Android developers to release a fix for the Bluetooth bug that has prevented the Stratos Card from pairing the 6.0.1 release seems to have done it. I ignored the pop up about not working on Marshmallow and gave it a go anyway after the 6.0.1 update and was pleasantly surprised. So far I've had no issues using the card.

So my phone now runs on 6.0, has been for a long while. My Stratos card has been collecting dust since apparently no one is interested in working on a fix. App crashes when trying to add my cards back, Card refuses to sync to my phone, etc. My membership is a complete waist of money at this point. Stratos, you really should compensate your members for this. I'm probably not going to renew my membership if this is how life "with" the Stratos card is going to be.

Some smart people came up with and designed this Stratos card. Why they are unable to release a version of the app that is able to function with a simple card reader is totally beyond me. Wouldn't be a big deal if I could enter the card data in manually, but that's not an option. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed for the next update..... Update: Still broken as of 1.1.5... Update 2: 1.2.2 worked great. Till Marshmallow. Now it's broken again...

UPDATE: Android 6.0.1 on stock Nexus 5x now works. Got the card setup now just need to go use it. Still hate they sold out to some other company.

Not even a good paper weight after upgrading phone to Android 6.0. I don't buy developers finger pointing after the issue has gone on for many months.

After about 6 months since I got my first Stratos card. I think it finally might work. They sent me a replacement card after my first card would fail to swipe nearly 100% of the time. The new card didn't work with Android 6.0, but pairs with 6.0.1. Arghh! Now my card reader doesn't work! They sent me a type B reader when the type A didn't work. I now have a Nexus 6P, I have a bad feeling their new type C reader is what I need. WTF?

DOES NOT WORK

New LG phone update with 6.0 Marshmellow, card and reader are useless now. Apparently a bug in Bluetooth. Since my other Bluetooth devices work. I am holding Stratos accountable not Verizon or droid.

I try to use it at places and it sometimes works. Not reliable and still have to carry my other cards.

Not compatible with marshmallow...

S70%
by S####:

Hey Stratos, I think you need to make marshmellow support priority number 1 since any user that is trying to support your cause basically now has a fancy bookmarker since the card is useless. I waited a long time and am very annoyed that I just got this Friday and pretty much can throw it in the trash since the operating system is not supported (that should be first and foremost with any payment system). Pretty much waiting a couple more weeks then will move on to Plastc or Coin, they have no issues with Marshmellow. i don't want to have to wait until sometime in 2016 for an app update. You really should off refunds for this, it should have been absolutely clear that this ONLY and will ONLY work on specific OS. New phones come out with new OS, you can't ask people to buy certain phones just to use your card. Alot of users feel this way, read the comments.

I will admit I preordered a Stratos card because having an all in one smart card seemed awesome. But having gone through 2 Android devices, I could probably be forgiven in assuming Stratos doesn't care about Android users. My first phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4 couldn't even connect to their reader. My current device, a 2015 Motorola X Style Pure trying to add a card causes a crash. My card has literally been sitting unused in my room because I literally cannot use it.

S70%
by S####:

In addition to the problems with the application and the card, here is why the Stratos card is a waste of money and time at this time. Most of the credit / payments cards we use at this time are chip cards. If you try to use a chip card with the Stratos card, the merchant might ask to produce the chip card and use the chip card reader otherwise the transaction is not going to go through. This means that we have to carry all the chip cards. It does not work at Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart.....

Why a cutting-edge device doesn't support a kind of new, but very common operating system is beyond me. Get your act together guys, or at least provide a notification in the app so I don't have to search for the problem.

This is the worst pos thing I have ever purchased... Like ever. First I get the card after paying for 2 years worth of service... 8 months later... Then the reader doesn't work... After numerous uninstalls, tech support sends me another reader... Same thing; doesn't work. Now tech support tells me to wait a couple of weeks for an app upgrade. Really, more waiting??? I get notified that the app was updated... Reader works... Now the app won't sync to the card.. Piece of s.....

Reader will not read anything, when it isn't taking over 2 minutes to check the battery or reset the reader every few seconds. Why the hell did you not just use the standard reader that EVERYONE else uses? I got Stratos because I didn't expect Coin to work out and now Coin is the only thing that does. Too bad refund isn't an option

After waiting forever after paying for this card it arrives 7 months later and you guessed it, the card reader isn't working. Complete garbage.

Unlike others, card works, reader works, cards loaded fine, but none of the convenience features work. You have to open the app to unlock the card. In the user manual, it says you only need to tap within Bluetooth range of your card to unlock it (proof that you have possession of your card and your device). Support's solution was to turn off the lock. So if anyone steals my card, they can then go out and make purchases with 3 of my cards! Yay! It also doesn't display the cards that are loaded on the notification screen when you tap the card. For purchases, it's convenient, but it's functionality is really, really broken. I would not buy this card again. When I bought in, it screamed convenience and security. Now it just feels like something someone cobbled together to get a product out the door. I'll be the functionality is there, but the application behind it is horrendous. If the Stratos team reads this, why can't I take a picture of my card to display on the device?

Received my card in July after some delays (which is fine, they communicated this well) but the magnetic card reader is not compatible with my HTC One M9. My phone recognizes the reader (as a headset) but the app does not. It just keeps trying to establish a connection to no avail. From what I'm told, it could be several more weeks before the issue is fixed. In the meantime, I was able to use an iPod touch to load 3 cards onto it (and it works awesome) but I'm limited to those 3 cards for now.

I recently got a replacement card because the first one was defective. This one works most of the time. The big issue is the tapping to activate. This is not an option that I will use in a restaurant when I have to give my Stratos Card to the waiter. They have never seen this card before and rarely swipe the card within the 15 second window from when I activate it. Until the tapping is gone this will not replace all of my cards in my wallet. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6.

S70%

This card is a rip off. It works in fewer places then where it doesnt and the card itself doesnt work. I want my money back but they dont address that when I write in. Might be time to let a lawyer see the case.

S70%
by S####:

How do you spell RIP OFF?! By the time you have got to this point you have probably shelled out $145. If you haven't, don't. The card does not work.

S70%

I tried two different android phones, one doesn't detect the reader, the other got stuck on either "Waiting for connection" or just "connecting". Pretty much gave up at this point... Oh and the security doesn’t sync at all. Although I'd like to add that Stratos has superb customer service, because of this, I don't mind waiting a bit longer to get another reader that hopefully works.

S70%
by S####:

Good concepts, bad implementation. It will not work consistently and adds steps to any check out process. You have to train anyone who touches it how to use it and it still fails. Now I carry an extra card in my wallet in addition to the ones it was supposed to replace. Requesting refund for the product. Most disappointingly, I really really wanted to like it because the concept behind the card is solving real problems.

I have the note 4 the card sync perfectly with my other cards so far i have around 90 percent rate in the card working at retail locarions. Atm tried it and it rejected the card saying it was not a valid card. So far pretty good.

This never worked with my Samsung S6. The reader never properly connected even with support working with me. I was advised that the must recent fix which was released last evening (1.1.4) would resolve the issue. At this juncture, I have no desire for another reader and have requested a refund. The concept is great, I purchased my card in March. However, I expected this to work out-of-the-box. Happy swiping to those who it works for.

Can't add a card. Support told me they issued 2 (yes 2) updates yesterday that should fix this. But app still won't let me add a card. I'm on Galaxy S5 one of most popular in-use phones in market. Maybe hiring some test engineers would be a good idea?

Just got my card today. Using the app with a Samsung Note 5 and have had zero problems. Took a few swipes to get the first card in the app, but after that, everything went smooth. Setup was quick and painless. I added my three favorites to the card. I also added a loyalty card to the priority spot. Had to contact support (using website chat) to understand how this works. Jerome, the support tech, was excellent and helpful. It is nice to only have to carry one card with me. I will test tonight to see if it works in the real world, but so far so good. Update 8/30/15 - Tried to use my card at my banks ATM machine, a Target store and a Walmart and it was not readable in any of those places.. So deducting a couple stars.

X70%

Same issue with card reader as reported by others, but on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running Lollipop. Oddly, Support acted like mine was the first time they'd heard of this issue, they even sent me a replacement reader which didn't resolve the issue. I also found that card is not compatible with the Smartlock feature in Android Lollipop. Therefore, for the initial cost, the delayed delivery, and a non-working product I have to limit the number of stars to 1. I'll update if they ever get it working.

All my cards loaded up with ease and there has not been one problem or error making payments with it. 100% sucess rate having used it at gas stations, restaurants, the bank, along with various retail stores. Can't wait for the additional new features to start being released (galaxy s6)

Q70%
by Q####:

Running Nexus 6 5.1.1. Needed a type b card reader, app doesn't auto recognize the card reader type, so you need to fix that manually. The card lock does not work. If you enable and the card syncs it enabled, the app will not load - ever. With this, you need to install, reboot, install, reset card and add cards again. Please work on this feature and it would also be nice to have your phone (optional) let you know when your leaving a location without the card.
