About Crocodile and Monkey - Story
The Monkey and The Crocodile
Once upon a time there lived a monkey in a jungle on a jamun tree near a river. Jamuns of that tree were very delicious. The monkey used to sit on a branch of the tree and enjoyed the fruits.
One day while the monkey was eating the jamuns, a crocodile came out of the river and settled down to take rest on the tender grass near the jamun tree.
The monkey saw the crocodile. He was looking tired. The monkey said to the crocodile, “Hey friend! Would you like to have some refreshing jamuns.”
The crocodile looked up to the monkey, smiled and said, “Why not friend! Thanks for the favor.” The crocodile kept his mouth wide open and the monkey started throwing the jamuns into his mouth.
Soon the hunger of the crocodile got satisfied. He not only liked the hospitality of the monkey but also the taste of the delicious jamuns. He said, “Thanks friend for the nice treat. I will come again to see you.”
They both said goodbye to each other and departed. The monkey started eating the jamuns again and the crocodile took his way to home. Both were happy to have a nice friend.

Page 8: One day when the crocodile came to meet the monkey, he gave some jamuns for the crocodile’s wife too and said, “Friend! This is for your wife. Please pay my regards to her.”
The crocodile accepted the fruits and took his way to home happily. He was eager to give the fruits to his wife that his friend monkey gave for her.

Page 11: The crocodile’s wife was very cunning. She thought if the monkey used to eat such tasty fruits everyday then his heart would also be tasty like these jamuns for sure.
She said to the crocodile, “Please go and get the heart of that monkey for me. I would love to eat it up.” The crocodile got shocked.
He said, “Oh dear! He is my friend. Please don’t do this to him. If you like the jamuns, I will get more from him. But please don’t ask for his heart.”
Page 14: She said, “If you don’t get his heart, I will not eat anything and will die from hunger.” He tried a lot to convince her but in vain. She was not ready to hear anything.
Page 15: The crocodile heavy heartedly agreed to do whatever she wanted him to do. His wife became happy. He promised her that he would come with monkey’s heart and left home.
He swam towards the jamun tree where the monkey lived. In the meantime he thought of a plan so that he could get the monkey’s heart.
