About Pitched Tuner

Pitched Tuner has been designed by musicians for both beginners and professionals. It helps you to quickly and easily tune your instrument using the microphone on your Android device.

It works well for a wide range of instruments: strings, woodwind, brass, guitars, voice, and more. Even very low bass strings can be tuned.

Simple controls and clear visuals make the app great for beginners. Responsive and precise algorithms provide professional level accuracy for more advanced players.

Hands free tuning means you can tune all of your strings without ever having to touch the screen - you don't want to have to reach for your guitar tuner in between tuning each string, and now you don't have to.

Pitched Tuner displays a traditional tuner needle and dial. It clearly shows the frequency being played as well as the nearest note and error in cents. The dial then allows you to easily track small changes in pitch. A separate volume indicator tells you how clearly the microphone is picking up your instrument sound.

The app can also sound a reference note which you can use to tune your instrument by ear (which is always a good skill to practice), or as a target note when you are re-stringing your guitar/violin/etc. You can choose from a pure sine sound, which is precise but quiet, or a simulated piano, guitar or clarinet.

You can very the reference tuning pitch away from the common 440Hz. You can also configure the app to adjust for non-concert pitch instruments, for example the B-flat trumpet.

There's a choice of light or dark themes and you can adjust the volume sensitivity of the app for quieter instruments and noisy environments.

Decent looking app. Very slow note tracking. Inaccurate tuning. Custom instrument tunings are a nice touch, but I would like to be able to delete the other instruments. I'm a guitarist. Don't need the banjo presets. Recently switched from iOS. I wonder why iOS has such better music apps.

It's a fully chromatic tuner, so, unlike some tuners, you can tune whatever you want. There are specific tunings available, but, given you know how your instrument is tuned, they shouldn't be necessary. There is a paid version, without ads, but the only feature it has over the free version is the ability to make your own tunings, for strange guitar tunings or less popular instruments, but, again, since it's fully chromatic, you can still tune whatever you'd like to tune with the free version. The tracking is fine overall, with one strange problem: it tends to pickup the 2nd harmonic of sounds when they aren't right next to the tuner. Since the 2nd harmonic corresponds exactly to an octave, it effectively just means that sometimes it says things are an octave higher than they are. You can still tune it like that, if the octave overtone is in tune, so is the root, it's just strange. It might be useful if you're into Mongolian throat singing, but otherwise, it's just a small problem. Moving the instrument closer fixes that.

Does a good job. I tune mostly to tone generators, so that function in this app works well. SUGGESTION: It would be nice if I could open the app to the tone generator page by default. Also, octaves beyond 5 would be useful. Thank you for a good app, and considering that I use it at work for my pre-show warmup, I'm happy to pay for this app.

Tuned up an electric 12 string. Had a bit of trouble as theres no setting for one.

Works pretty much as described. Seems kinda sensitive to overtones, especially on brass instruments that don't produce anything close to a sine wave. If you're trying to get a pitch "close enough", this app will work fine

by K####:

I like it, but the needle sometimes goes haywire even when placed on specific setting. Not very good fine tuning

K70%
by K####:

It'd be cool if it there was an option for reporting the highest or lowest pitch within a melody. Otherwise, it's a great app. Works just as described at the interface is minimalistic and straightforward.

Extremely helpful, simple and easy-to-use interface, haven't had any problems.
