With android 6.0 up (Android M up) please enable permission write to SD card to save sticky note.
Bellow is step.
Settings -> application manager -> Sticky notes
Permission -> Turn on Storage.

I don't like the fact that the sticky notes appear on every single thing you are doing. It would be better if it only stayed on the home screen. It was annoying to go to my apps and the sticky notes would be in the way.

If you need your notes and your reminders in front of your eyes whenever you unlock your phone, try this app. You can change the size of notes just by holding the triangle in the bottom right corner of the note and move it, and you can have new notes in a glance, just tap on the plus button on the top of a note. It just says "sticky notes has stopped" uninstalling and re-installing didn't help.

It should warn before removing the note. Like are u sure u want to delete the note. So there is no accidental long important note deletion
