StepJockey - Stair Tracker for Android
Great idea but it won't save my weight in US, won't save my stairs as when I put the floors in separately and it doesn't always let me scan the code to stop so my steps are not all counted for. If the app worked liked it said, I would love it and give it a 5 star.
The app looks fun at the start but last 3 days the app stops registering the steps and have reinstalled app on few occassions... Contacted Customer Services but nobody there to help
Really helpful and great for keeping fit!
Addictive
Never worked
Good
Absolutely love the updated version of the app! It has really engaged staff in our office to use the stairs more. It's now so quick to scan the StepJockey smart signs in our building and track my progress week on week.
Constant issues saying poor Internet and hundreds of steps and tens of journeys not registering after several reinstalls.
Works well. Nice graphics and easy to use.
On the surface the app seams good. Well good luck. I am pretty computer and software literate. There are no instructions on HOW TO START THE APP! i WASTED 1/2 HOUR OF MY LIFE. I'm deleting the app. Good luck guy but busy people don't have time for non intuitive apps. Good idea bad execution. This smart sign business is useless. Don't waste your time.
This app is a wonderful idea, and had me drooling at the prospect of a stair step tracker. But. No Google Fit integration, no MyFittnessPal integration, no manual mode for use where smart signs or NFC tags are not present. I cannot use this app without all of these present. Shame, really.
I wish there was a way to show the total calories as you go instead of selecting finish every new set of stairs. I love the idea and people are obviously not scanning every floor when they get there bcz that's the only way I've noticed it doesn't track your steps. I do agree though that there should be a way to track stairs without the QR code. I can only use the app at work and live on a 3rd story apt so it would be nice to use at home too.
Unfinished university project.
Good if building is rated.
Terrible execution
Saw it in the sun newspaper and it is amazing, more people need to know about this app SPREAD THE WORD
I use the app to track my calories at work using the free paper signs downloaded off the StepJockey website. Burnt a surprising amount of calories just going up and down twice a day!
Maybe some of the comments refer to an old version of the app? Worked well for me during the Health Month at my work - we were put in teams and tasked with climbing Mt Everest in our building. We got really competitive about it and it worked fine.
Can't get code and no NFS button to push. Uninstalled
Then refused to work. Also wanted me to sign in via Facebook. Do your own advertising.
We used the app to climb the equivalent of the ten highest skyscrapers in a work challenge. You just tap or scan the signs with the app to log your climbs. It does make using the stairs a habit!
If you climb more than 2 flights of stairs the app jams on climbing and then assumes you forgot to log out and records you as having only done one flight! Useless.
Idea is great but crashes. Also if you are not connected to the Internet when you scan to finish it often goes wrong the next time you take to the stairs and doesn't log that climb
How to use? Where is the QR code???
Not a good app at all
I am naturally quite lazy. However, this app and the simple printable posters they give you on the website, make it a doddle to change from "no exercise" to "some exercise" - if only walking to to the second floor! I'm trying to convince my new boss we need some proper stair climbing signs for our office building.
This looks great app, but I am not able to find out how to get the QR codes to scan to start tracking my progress.
If you want to be changed around the Internet download it
U need to make an account. It's useless for me. Thanx for waisting my time...
Great concept, but too many bugs. Makes the experience pointless in terms of the challenges and keeping up with steps and calories burned. Also fails to keep an accurate account scan times, which leads to much confusion. Crashes often. I would not recommend this app and personally think they should take it off the market until they fix all of the major issues --there are plenty.
Looking for something to count my steps at work which do not have the nfc signs that you are requesting YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION
App says scan sign. What frickin sign? Useless.
What a cool way of getting you to use stairs instead of the lift at work
Doesnt work without their posters. Should use phones inbuilt step counter for stair climbing
Its garbage can not use unless u scan their code. If stairs had these codes we would not need an app
Worked for about two weeks, then crashed every time I tried to open it, means I fell well behind with the stairs challenge at work.
I tried NFC, it didn't work (yes I did have it turned on). I tried barcode and that hung as it appeared to need network access. Useless.
Rating upgraded to 5 stars following action by tech support to resolve calorie history/audit issues with Android devices.
The product itself had so much potential! The app failed it. Horrible UI and barely functional.

Decent app for a really great scheme. Good to see all activity records updated. Love the trophies and spot prizes - very motivational indeed.
