Locale GV SMS Plugin

Very handy and works just as described - I use this plugin with Tasker. I had a silly question for the developer, on a Sunday night no less, and received a response within the hour - quite amazing.

The developer is above board and easy to work with. Product does exactly what it claims to do.

to see this app available again. Got the email about reimbursement for past purchases, but this is one app I don't mind paying for again. Would rather tip the dev than bother with that procedure.

I struggled for a while to find any intents that would let Tasker send SMS on my tablet using either Google Voice or Verizon's tablet messaging app. After much trial and error plus searching the internet I finally got distracted, gave up and moved on to the next challenge. I'm glad I remembered reading someone recommend this plugin as a solution. Very simple to use and works perfectly. Thank you!!

I only give out my GV number, but wanted to automate some text messages I send to people through Tasker. No matter what settings I tried, the text got sent out with the carrier #. Now, the outgoing message displays through GV as it should.

This app requires that you store your Google voice password in the app instead of using a proper authentication mechanism and it does not have any retry capabilities if you try to send an SMS when you don't have network connectivity

while Google required a name change.

Thank you for your email regarding the name change. Also, thank you for your work on this app. I use it and appreciate it. It works well and I have never had any trouble with it. I have purchased the app under its new name and don't require a refund. My wife has this on her phone as well and we use it with tasker to let each other know where we are and when we are on our way home, usually. There are also many other uses for this when you want to automate sending a sms through google voice. Thanks again.

This plugin is great because I don't subscribe to my carriers texting ripoff plan. It even works with Google's two step verification.

I use it every day! If you need to send automated sms' this is the plugin for you. I use this in conjunction with Tasker.

This is an excellent app to use in conjunction with tasker to automate sending SMS messages via Google Voice.

Its a must have if you use Google Voice and Tasker.

It works as stated. The look and feel could use a little work, but other than that. I was able to use this APP with Tasker and Tasker for Pebble to send canned text messages to my wife just by pushing a few buttons on my Pebble watch! Worth $2

While I'm bummed that it can't monitor incoming GV SMS (Google limitation), it sends out messages via GV just great (I use Tasker). The developer was very nice and helpful and the plugin is simple and effective for what it can do.

I use this plug-in with Tasker to track my billable time by SMS messages using Google Voice. When I start working, I click the "Punch In" Tasker task which generates an SMS message through Google Voice (prompting for client name and notes along the way). When I'm done, I "Punch Out" using Tasker. This plug-in allows me to use the Google Voice SMS feature rather than my Android phone's built-in Texting app. This means I don't use any of my texting allowment from Verizon, and the associated Google account keeps has a record of my clocking in and out for generating billing and future reference. The developer is responsive and fair and reasonable. That's not always the case, in my experience. Toby @ Steelgirder is a great developer making great products that I'm happy to support.

I've never had a problem using this plugin with Tasker. It's easy to use and set up and works every time.

I've ditched my texting plan for Google Voice and needed a way to retrain folks still texting the old number. This plugin works perfectly with Tasker for replying to texts from the new (GV) number. It supports tasker variables, and works perfectly google application specific passwords. Thanks!

I am very happy with this plugin. It is definitely worth a couple bucks.

I have my google voice associated with GoogleApps and my own domain. Unfortunately, this seems to break this plugin. There is no documentation with this plugin, so it is trial and error to figure out if you have it configured correctly.

Does what it says on the tin. Developer is also very responsive to issues.

This thing works with Tasker perfectly. I have sms disabled on my phone. I have google voice installed. I can set up Tasker to send texts using Google Voice with this app.
