What are users saying about MyHyundai with Blue Link

It does precisely what it says on the tin, and then some. There is some lag between sending commands and the car responding, though that is likely due to the time it takes for a command to traverse the network to BlueLink, then make its way out through the network to the car. Smartwatch support was a pleasant surprise, and it works brilliantly. I love being able to remote-start my car from my watch!

Q70%
by Q####:

Doesn't even let me log in anymore. Checked my subscription, still good. I think I'll just end my subscriptions if this keeps up. UPDATE 3.13.17 It's been three months in the cold winter season I haven't used this app. Reinstalled it again and logs me back in quite smoothly. They need to make this app more reliable.

M70%
by M####:

I love my car... and the theory of this app is great for other things, but why not just have a remote starter without an app? I have to have my car locked to remote start it, but I never lock my car at home and the keys are in it. And, why in the world do the emergency flashers come on with remote start?! There are no ways to specify your settings- like to not have your lights flashing at 4:30 in the morning when it's pitch black out and highway traffic is going by. I mostly can't wait until all of my bluelink things expire- I will not PAY to remote start my car.

T70%
by T####:

Too often, I receive system-generated error messages after trying to remote start or remote lock my Sonata. Usually, these messages indicate that MyHyundai could not complete my request, and to try again later. The MyHyundai system should be much more reliable considering the annual fee. Also, it takes a long time to log in, even though I've enabled the option to stay logged in. Login times should be much shorter, especially considering that the app always runs in the background on my phone.

by T####:

Application takes forever to load, ND when it finally does, it's a crap shoot as to if it will actually turn on your car. When it doesn't, it won't tell you why or what happened. Not worth a $99+ subscription for this poor of an app/service.

J70%
by J####:

Sorry thing is this is the only way to remote start the vehicle! If you don't have the app, forget it. And they charge you if you want tip continue to be able to remote start the car after one year. Now you buy the car and have to keep paying for what other companies give in the remote control for free.

T70%
by T####:

2 yrs later this app is still awful. Hyundai should be ashamed. After putting up with hyundai and this horrible excuse for an app since 2013 dont bother paying the fee or counting on this app to work. Now I have a 2016 plug in sonata and the app is still worthless. Obviously lots of phony paid reviews on here because the service mgr says the same thing

My motorola watch synched to my LG v20 using bluelink prior to Hyundai link update and worked perfectly now the smart watch doesn't remotely start the car. Can this be fixed?

B70%
by B####:

Just installed. Checked everything and it works perfectly! I forgot about the remote start. Score! I do have nav & a Hyundai blue Link subscription. I saw comments about paying for it which would be included.

X70%

Have not been able to sign in for the last few hours. Costs waayyy to much when you can't go beyond the sign in screen.

T70%
by T####:

I would not buy another Hyundai only because of this horrible app and the insane price of using Bluelink.

T70%
by T####:

Total bullshit. Only works sometimes. Not worth paying for.

T70%
by T####:

Doesn't work on rooted phones.

W70%
by W####:

Works most of the time at least a minute or 2 for the car to get single to start. 100.00 a year for the app.

T70%
by T####:

After the most recent update it now works very well.

T70%
by T####:

Very helpful for cold days!

T70%
by T####:

Decent app just cant click any buttons on the bottom of screen because they are hidden behind the android home/back/recent apps buttons. So i can hit send to car from a poi search. If you expect people to pay for this bluelink service every month you better improve the user interface of this app!

L70%
by L####:

I'd rate this 5 except new version has issue. Soft keys cover function keys on map page preventing SEND to car function and others. (Emails, including screen shots of the problem, to Blue Link customer service were fruitless.) Please fix and I'll change to 5. Thanks

Had to install previous version 3.9 This new version 3.9.4 would not work to start car on my S7 or Note 4 on my 2013 Sonata Limited Turbo. Works fine with Old app in phones but not with this latest version 3.9.4 of BlueLink app. Have not been able to use this app since Dec. 2016 and I paid for this service!!!!!

W70%
by W####:

UPDATE! They actually fixed the app and it doesn't crash anymore! It now works as it should! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Stupid app crashes constantly. As in, you'll just be sitting there, not even using it, and you'll get a message saying "MyHyundai has stopped working", even when you're not using it. It's a shame, cause I'd happily pay for the service of the app wasn't junk.

K70%
by K####:

The old version worked well.. Now that there is a new version, I am unable to auto start my car.. It says header authentication required..whatever that means... I called customer service.. They couldn't even help me..If I can download the older version again I would be happy.

Great idea in Theory, part of the reason i bought a new veloster last week was because of bluelink, and the app. App is extremely slow to communicate with the car, the app is extremely sluggish, and overall dissappointing. I paid 30k after all the features for my car, why in the world is one of its best selling points such crap???

T70%
by T####:

Worked once when I bought the car. Since then it never connected to the server. Reinstalled and same issue. Now I have a new issue. The application worked the week after I bought the car in October. By the end of that month, I started receiving "the server failed to respond" messages. Now it just says "additional setup required. Call 1-855-2-Bluelink." I have called them twice. A reboot of the head unit did nothing; now the issue is escalated. Been on the phone multiple times with Hyundai Bluelink. Now the setup message no longer appears but the app still cannot communicate with the server. Now they're telling me to bring the car in for service. I think they are clueless.

T70%
by T####:

I like the service, however keep getting disconnected from the app. When I enter my email address it tells me invalid email address and I only have 1 email to us. You can't contact anyone because they are out of the country. When I sent an email they suggested to go to the dealer. For real just to get into the app. Really considering not renewing this service.

Y70%

Send to car does not work with Google Pixel. Buttons on bottom of screen interfere. My favorite feature and it doesn't work.

T70%
by T####:

Stopped working after the latest update. Keeps throwing an error dialog. With this performance, I don't understand why would someone buy the blue link service. Needs a major upgrade.

R70%
by R####:

I pay for all three Blue Link packages, but this app won't work on rooted phones. I won't be renewing my Blue Link subscriptions.

T70%
by T####:

Very spotty app. Works for a while but inevitably starts giving error messages and locking me out. Customer support is lacking to say the least.

E70%
by E####:

Terrible. Doesnt work most times. Waste of time. Too bad rel Ally wanted remote start for my new car.

T70%
by T####:

Good ideas, poor implementation. Features like getting vehicle status, or starting the car remotely, are hampered by the fact that the system is dreadfully slow. It just took me over 50 seconds to get my car's current status. 5 seconds to log in, 6 seconds to locate nearby Hyundai dealers, 6 seconds to find nearby gas stations doesn't sound like much, but the whole thing feels sluggish. A lot of this can probably be fixed by speeding up the back end, since the web interface also feels slow. What's worse is that it's currently impossible to do things like send the coordinates of a gas station or point of interest to the car, because the "Share", "Save" and "Send" buttons are covered by the Android buttons. Overall, this feels like software written by a company that wants to make cars, not write software. If that's the case, it would be nice if they could allow other developers (perhaps a software company) to step in and write something better.

T70%
by T####:

Only works 70% of the time and the yearly cost is outrageous to remote start your car. I'm due to pay for another year in a month and will DEFINITELY NOT be renewing. As stated in other reviews, you should be able to do this from your key fob and not pay a yearly fee.

R70%
by R####:

The app is great in some areas, but a design flaw on the maps section makes it unusable for the feature I most wanted (send poi to car) because the soft keys cover up the action buttons on the map, so you can't actually click them... I just started my blue link trial, so hopefully they fix this before it's up. it really not worth the cost without this feature, as using the in-dash poi search is cumbersome and time consuming. particularly when I've likely already looked it up on google maps before I got in the car.

T70%
by T####:

The new version still has all same bugs for 2016 tucson. I wanted to continue with this app but it not woth it.

T70%
by T####:

I would love for blue link to update to allow you to turn on the rear defrost as well as heated seats and I would pay for the year after my trial is over. I love the new feature of climate control just need those 2 extra features and you have a new paying customer.

T70%
by T####:

Hate that the hazards flash when the car is started. My neighbors hate it too. The app is the worst, it takes forever to load and open, then takes awhile to send the signal to the car. That's if it sends the signal is to the car at all. Not worth the money, especially since they charge you individually for each package.

Y70%
by Y####:

I downloaded the app trying to schedule an appointment but it tells me I need to find a local dealership and then it tell me that my vehicle doesn't support that option like what???

T70%
by T####:

I can access my blue link subscription from my computer but not from the app. I receive an error code every time I try to log in

T70%
by T####:

Forcing people to update is ridiculous. I needed to find my car but was out of space to update so what I paid (it's expensive!) was useless.

A70%
by A####:

Dony waste your money this app. So expensive for such a useless app. Its super slow and doesnt register your commanf most of the time.

T70%

This app is too slow and maybe an update for samsung gear s3
