About Shot Control

Demo - Full version is $2.99US / 2.29€, unlocked via in-app purchase.

Capture better photographs. Control your camera. Shot Control. As an amateur photographer that loves to exploit exposure adjustments to capture great images, I was frustrated that I could not find a camera app that allowed quick and easy exposure (EV) adjustment.

I set out to build the camera app that I myself wanted. For me, quick access to camera settings to manage image capture is just as valuable as seeing the photo preview on the screen. One touch exposure changes is key, as I use that on almost every "good enough to print" image attempt.

I wanted a quick way to mark (star) my best images. Maybe you are familiar with the workflow of a hole punch on the edge of 35mm film. I wanted to recreate that workflow, so Shot Control allows you to easily star your best photographs, and copies them in their own directory. You can't delete starred photos by accident, you must unstar them first...a feature that goes nicely with the option to disable delete confirmations...star the best, then quickly delete the rest.

I've been building Shot Control since August 2011 in my free time, released it in January 2012, and continue to evolve it over time into a tool that helps me take better photographs, and helps me better enjoy photography.

If you also enjoy and appreciate Shot Control, I encourage you to leave a 5 star comment. If for any reason you are not satisfied, I am always willing to issue a refund at any time, for any reason.

Here are some user comments...

"Simply put: this is a great tool for every mobile photographer out there. Having all of the camera controls on the main screen is heavenly, & you are able to adjust white balance, flash, exposure, & basically everything else without opening a menu. I love that you can map camera functions to the volume rocker. The developer is extremely responsive & the app is constantly being fine-tuned & refined. He is clearly committed to making this the most flat-out functional camera app on the market. Get it!" - Comment from Trent
"It's so easy to use and equally functional." - Comment From Zac

"Everything you need from a camera app on screen and in easy reach. This is the best. " - Comment From Jason

"The Shot Control interface is very intuitive, and having the "roll" integrated into the main screen makes things even easier." - Comment From Mitch

"I love that I don't need menus to get to the adjustments and filters. Great work!" - Comment From January

"Shutter button remapping alone is worth the purchase." - Comment from kvn

"Really complements the Galaxy Nexus camera. Giving the user more control of the camera which will result in better photos." - Comment from Stephen

I got this app free with App Of The Day and quite liked it. Unfortunately, the developer has decided to withdraw the free version and it has reverted to a trial version, which is only good for 36 shots. You shouldn't offer the app for free if you don't intend to honour that offer.

Is payment per device? I paid for the app and changed phone, now it asks for payment again...

Z70%
by Z####:

Very difficult to use. Doesn't work half the time.

Q70%
by Q####:

Paid for this app a long time ago and for some reason I had to pay again or have watermarked images. Sent message to developer but the email was returned, the developers site was completely gone.

S70%
by S####:

Started out great, then this pop-up with a warning about a watermark and trial period. I totally don't mind paying for an app like this but this method is archaic and annoying. Especially because the app is now performance crippled as well. Uninstalled...Sorry.

by Q####:

Software is using the old Camera api and needs an update. As a result, on the nexus 5x, pictures display upside down in the live viewer and practically impossible to use.

Well suited app for myself. The main feature I like that I can only find on this app is the shot control burst where you can hold the "take pic" button and takes until you release. Then go to your gallery and delete the excess/not good enough :)

Q70%
by Q####:

I just want a camera app that lets you manually control the focus. This needs a meter that you can move up and down to focus and unfocus. Then I'll give 5 stars.

Q70%
by Q####:

Waste of time. Don't bother

Q70%

Why do I have to pay for it again? Sent multiple emails to the developer and got no response. Screw you.

That was loot of use, and many many many option can be setting

Have to buy it for a second time?

D70%

Occasional crashes, sometimes focus area just doesn't focus the image and zooming out to 0% impossible (stuck on 2%). Big pros however - fast EV control, fast ISO control and multi area metering works well. My preferred app for anything other than a quick snap in basic camera.

Insists on having flash on for "fireworks" mode - what am I missing here!? Why on earth would you use a flash for fireworks?

N70%
by N####:

This app does not work on lollipop on nexus 4. You guys need to update how you authenticate purchases for your pro version. It crashes the whole app.

J70%

Great control of camera features. It's a must-have.

I have bought the pro version but it just continuous in trial mode.

X70%

I purchased this app in 2012 and when I received a new phone the In App Purchase was not recognized. I contacted the developer and received no response. I accidentally purchased it again when trying to figure out what was going on and then contacted the developer for a refund per his description. Again, no response. Web site is gone which is not a good sign as well.

I purchased this app, now it upgraded to a demo version with in-app purchase. The author should keep the last usable version for us who purchased the app.

Abandonware. Stay away. The Dev's email does not even work anymore. Big disappointment.

It does everything I need it to do, but quite slowly. It has great intentions, and the concept is great.

Seems ok at first, I could only get 4:3 photos and no videos.

I installed demo. Clicked macro mode. Touched screen to focus and I received a successful app unlock message. There was NO unlock app button on the screen where I touched. Will be reporting this app to Google immediately.

i love this because it will snap a shot (with or without flash) when my phone battery is dying and the camera app closes automatically.

But still not finished (after 2 yrs). Too many unfinished/unrefined features, less wud b more ... I was looking for a manual focus camera. It took me more than 5' to figure out how I would change the focus to manual, but even then, t contols r poor at best. For 1 in infinite mode, whenever I moved it would refocus; in macro it wouldn't focus at all etc ...

B70%

What the hell us this! I touched the screen to focus and immediately it says full version paid?! I didn't want to buy this! I'm going to report this to Google play and give your life a living hell!

It's amazing for macro photos. The best so far for macros! It has only a few things I'd improve, like focus by touch, ISO control and a better UI.
