Squarespace Blog for Android
Copy and paste function does not work
For those looking through all the Squarespace replies to the negative reviews and thinking "hm, they seem like they want to help," just know that the support team is just as bad as the app. Contacting Squarespace with app issues is pretty useless, and I think I've had probably four separate tickets open with them (concerning four separate bugs) for over a month now. In general, this app is terrible.
Well, it doesn't finish logging in until you kill the app. It also doesn't show my own site blog, only another one I'm an author on. Means I can't use it. Buggy.
Can't save your work. Just loads and loads and loads... How long has Squarespace been around? How long have these mobile platforms been around? There is simply NO EXCUSE for the mobile app to be in this constant state of afterthought. The modern phone is powerful, capable, and convenient, so let's see that leveraged and with the proper app. Your desktop tools are great, match them on this side as well!
The latest update didn't work right. It is not displaying thumbnail images for posts and the last post I added is dated 1970 so didn't appear at the top. This app is broken. Please fix. I already submitted a help request through the app...
Tells me I'm offline and don't allow me to save any work. Desktop version on mobile works better than this app. For such an expensive hosting company could try harder
Ugh, I'm trying to edit an image but it's but saving. No error message, nothing. Grrrr
App is broken. Doesn't let you sign in.
Why does this app not work? I wrote a blog and tried attaching an image. Tried to publish my work several times but it didn't work.
Why on earth does this app not support audio uploads? Useless for podcasters.
Pretty bad for a successful business. I mean I expected more from squarespace, this is a half-baked application, with things that need fuzzing around With, it should be simple and as feature rich as it's web interface. Come on Squarespace you can do better than this, we have blogs to maintain, make our lives a bit easier here.
I just realized today that a post I wrote a couple days ago is missing 4 paragraphs. This is not the first time this has happened. This app can not be trusted to upload something as simple as a blog post. Also, very little control over how you can edit.
Added some useful features in latest updates. Missing most block types and page editing still though. The line block and button blocks would be useful. Tags and category selection is VERY difficult to use, I'd prefer a dropdown selector. I've seen other random bugs too. Navigation between blog posts is terrible as it asks you twice do you want to save changes, even when there are no changes. Doesn't let you edit complex pages , which is anything with more than one column.
It would be nice if the app would actually let me log in. It keeps giving me an error notice although my password is correct.
The drag and drop to rearrange photos is TERRIBLE! Other than that this is a great app for simple posts and site maintenance
Hi, cannot get the posting to facebook business page to work. It works from computer but my client exclusively uses his phone.
Stopped allowing me to post.. anything.
Can't log on.
Could use some work. It's ok for managing a blog post that is already up, but content creation on this can be a real bear. Only four objects available. No ability to edit/delete objects already added to the page. It is very simple and clean, but the cost to functionality is severe.
I'm glad the sign-in bug has finally been fixed - it's great to be able to blog on the go at last! But it needs some work - adding links, editing objects are essential - even just a few of the things we can do on the desktop would be a huge improvement.
Good app if you're just writing a basic blog post, not if you're trying to do anything beyond that. I couldn't even find a way to create a hyperlink.
I run a podcast using Squarespace as my website. Unfortunately, this app is useless to me until audio blocks are supported.
Good app, just what i need
I can't delete photos after uploading to blog posts while editing. This seems like it should be an important feature, and not having it makes this app basically useless to me. I spend two hours a day on the train to work and that's the main time I work on my blog. Will look into moving to a more app-friendly service.
Helps for a way to update my site from phone since Squarespace does not support edit from mobile device. Simple, and easy to use. But takes forever to save. And also leaves a long trail of edit files that could be better fit into one file
I hate this app, it won't let me sign up on my phone! OUTRAGEOUS! Please help!
It won't let me sign in on my phone and I don't have a laptop so I can't sign in.
Immediately buggy and impossible to use on my Android. I wasn't able to create one post: it froze, was unable to save changes, and crashed multiple times. There was no way to add a gallery, upload multiple images at once, or delete an image once it had uploaded. This app has a beautiful design and if it worked I would use it often. It's disappointing squarespace doesn't offer the basic ability to blog over mobile.
The app is often unresponsive which sucks the life of of my phone's battery. It's also pretty annoying . Kind of defeats the purpose of why the app was created. Supposed to be convenient right?
Can't log in.
Won't allow me to login, just hangs. Very disappointing.
for my childcare business, if I didn't have to sit at a PC to make full edits to photos, and text for each entry. Also the photos sometimes load upside down, and side ways. Can't seem to fix it from my mobile device. As a child care provider I NEED to be able to add entries quickly and without this ability from Square space, it makes me feel like I need to register my domain and build my site from the ground up through another host. No news on when this app will be fixed is def. why it has such low ????'s.
This is absolutely horrific. You cannot edit blog posts that are already published, only ones that are still drafts. Even at that, most features of the web is absent, including the quote block. There is no reason why in this day and age a company like Squarespace should not have a fully developed, functional, and fully featured Android app.
I spent a lot of time creating multiple blog post and none of them are showing up on my blog. I only downloaded the app to use the photos on my phone and now I've wasted so much time
Not even me or you is perfect. The internet isn't perfect either .
I've had an excellent time using this app. It's as clean and elegant as the desktop interface. Glad I use this service.
Nexus 5x with Android 7
Trying to see a post just shows a mess of code.
And it's not always just in front of the computer. It seems your note app has a dark mode. That would be a GREAT addition to this already very handy app. PS- people lo e my website, thanks team! EDIT:: I am now seeing that note can publish to blog draft. No wonder the theme from I Dream of Genie was playing in my head. Wish granted in a way. Now to see other ways to use it. Thanks again..

Works in a pinch. Please add a date/time picker so I can change the publication date. There is one on the full web site, but it can only be moved one month at a time -- I need to backdate posts as far back as 1951 (for our group's archives).
