Be sure to save your emergency removal password!! This app used to work perfectly, but a recent update has made it such that upgrades to the app cause its data to get reset. This means that every time they make an update, you have to do the emergency removal procedure, then re-register... Every. Single. Time. If you don't have that emergency removal password, be prepared to be locked out of your account for a day or two...

Just upgraded my Android operating system and now the key constantly crashes. Please come up with new code so I can use it again. Thank you.

Keeps resetting itself. Now I'm locked out of my account for 24 hours because it reset itself twice in the last day. Thanks for your garbage app.

This app is usually very good until Android updates and then it just stops working completely. Make sure to store your emergency password if you intend to use this.

Also not working for me since last Android update, suddenly cannot access any games.. instantly crashes.

Everytime Android has an update, app does lose functionality. Takes forever for Square to update. Make sure to have emergency removal password if you want to play a game.

Doesn't work at all. Can't get into my account to play or cancel it or anything.

I've had the security token app for about 3 weeks and it's lost sync twice. Each time I have to remove and redo the setup. The whole setup is a chore. The registration password is ridiculously long and the actual app itself is not user friendly. Blizzards mobile authenticator is far easier to use

Losses token information frequently and cannot remove the one time password more than once every 24 hours. Square enix should implement a good system, or even just integrate Google authenticator, anything that works better than this please.

I'm on a Pixel phone. This app completely loses whatever sync context it has every single day. My new routine for logging into my account is: 1) Open the app. See that it has started over (accept terms, enter information, etc.) 2) Use my emergency removal password. 3) Set the key back up. 4) Sign in to the game again. This is a problem.

The biggest flaw of this token is the fact that in order to remove it from the account, you have to verify the serial number which is supposedly accessed through the app itself. However, there is no way to access that information and attain the serial number, thus forcing users to rely strictly on the emergency removal password provided by SE. Super poorly thought out and very lazily executed.

What else can i say, really? It'd be nice if the app used more modern APIs, but it wouldn't really change anything on more than a superficial level. It works. Use it. Keep your account secure.

I have been using this app for years now on my galaxy s6 edge it performed flawlessly. They could come up with some more flashy design though but it is not like I care much as long as it works fine.

Designed for an ancient version of Android, unreliable on newer versions, and uses a proprietary system vs. a standards based two-factor system similar to Google, Authy, etc.

Does what it should be doing with pleasant simple design. Has worked fine for me on my Sony Xperias even after I had to use the emergency removal key and re-register it on my new phone after breaking my old one.

I thought I was the only one having a problem with this app. It has unsynced me twice now- decided to just avoid the nonsense and order the standalone key, until then I will keep this app for security. Don't bother with this app unless you want to go through a crap ton of hoops just to log in.

FREQUENTLY DESYNCS AFTER AN UPDATE. DO NOT USE If the app desyncs and it's the weekend you're completely out of luck, there is no support available after Friday evening.

Like some other reviewers, my app is constantly being reset. my login routine now is to check if the authenticator app reset, use my emergency removal code to remove the two step, setup two step again, then play FF XIV. I don't know why they can't just use a standard two factor format like Google Authenticator, Duo, Authy, etc.

For a company known for great art this app is super plain. They finally updated the icon and all it added was so colour. Dropped the ball here imo

I can't get past the registration screen. Had to make four different accounts and every single time it keeps saying password and username doesn't match. This is getting on my last nerve. Registered and linked both ps4 account and square enix but the damn thing still doesn't work.

Get the physical thing, a lot less headache. Also incompatible with Android 7.0+, wish I knew that before upgrading!

Just subscribed to get back in to game. Setup token on phone, played for few hours. Left to grab food, came back, & token no longer setup on phone, as if it was just installed. Re-setup, logged in. Logged out, token lost again. GG square enix

It's an app to aid in securely logging on to FFXIV, I don't care what it looks like. It in no way affects gameplay. People need to stop hating on SE, they are a great company and are finally putting out great content and games. Suck it up.

Doesn't work properly, randomly resets and even with the recovery code you can only use it once every 24 hours. Now I have to wait 24 hours to play for a game I pay monthly for. I'm sick of this game and square enix this app has been broken from the day it was released and after all these years it's obvious they won't ever fix it. Avoid this game and app and all square enix products!

The square Enix ID or date of birth dosnt match even tho they clearly do after 20 times and password resets it's uninstalled why is so difficult to log into this game

The app has been unregistering itself daily. Reinstalling it entirely doesn't fix it. Now i can't log into the game. This is not how you encourage people to improve their security.

Trying to set it up on my new phone, but the removal email comes so late the link is already expired! Have to wait 24 hours to watch this probably fail again.

It stopped working and now I can't use it what a bother

This app needs an update or be discontinued. It is not working properly with Android 7.

App will unregister if you close out all apps. Leaving at least 1 app running in the background will keep it registered.

Gets out of sync with the server at the drop of a hat. Desperately needs a resync feature.

The app worked for about 3 logins. After less than a day, the app forgot its configuration, so now I'm locked out. The app also never gave me an emergency code that is required for its removal. Apparently there is some deep dark corner of the SQEX website you have to get that at, which they email you in a "confirmation" email. I would suggest SQEX include that code in the app registration process or labeling the email "action required" so users don't ignore it (thinking it's just a confirmation).
