Spot On – A Birth Control, Period, & Cycle Tracker for Android
This app seems really useful and I liked the ability to track moods and symptoms. However, it would not predict my periods... I think it was because I have a hormonal IUD (mirena). I changed my info and said I wasn't using any birth control method, and then it would predict my next cycle. I am still experiencing regular periods with mirena so I was hoping this would help me keep track of my cycles. Unfortunately, it did not do that for me after 6 months of entering my cycles.
Spot On is way more than a period tracker! I use mine for accountability: am I respecting my body, how are my moods, when did I last have sex and the flow tracker - AMAZING! My cycle has never been ideal; I love how I can pull the calendar up at the doctor's office and give exact dates. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY
I appreciate the design style of this app - the fact that the interface isn't bright pink and suffocated with flowers is a big plus for me, especially since I'm not a particular fan of gender stereotypes. I do still have the need for a cycle tracker, though, and this one is simple, straight to the point and minimalistic. I don't feel like it's invasive at all and it doesn't make assumptions about my sex life or push fertility goals. I wish I could change the mood and activity input options, and more customization in general would be nice. There's room for improvement but overall I feel Spot On fills a need in this market.
This is a really amazing app to keep track of when to take your pill. It has really good info on lots of stuff period and sex related. It also lets you log your mood and other things along with how heavy your days are. It's super helpful and educational! I love it!
So far seems ok. Though I do wish it would allow for customizing symptoms/moods. Not everyone's symptoms fall into the most common ones. For example I tend to experience back pain around periods. There was no option to add it. And that would be handy because if I can put everything in one place it would help see if there is a pattern to everything)
:) real great. Tracks things well. I would suggest an option to notify you when your period will start or a notification to check the app every sat. Maybe they have that? I don't know, I haven't found one though
I really like the tracking of mood and activity. I just wish there were a few positive options when it comes to tracking how your body is feeling. Currently they're all negative so most days I don't track anything in that category.
I got this app when I started the birth control pill, and I hoped it would remind me every day when to take the pill. But the reminder was very unreliable and failed at that more than it succeeded. I'm deleting the app because that was the only reason I really needed it. I'll be using a normal alarm and Clue to help track my symptoms and remind me when to take my pill.
I love that I can track how im feeling day to day throughout the month. I get a better idea of my emotional connections with what's going on in my body. I just wish there were more options on the emotions as well as what my body is feeling. If we could pick more accurate choices we would better know what's up when and after time why.
It's a very simple way to keep track of my mood and my daily activities. Also way more in sync with my period than I have ever been. Literally been having my period for 15 years and have always been surprised or unaware of when it would show up. Was able to plan for recent vacations I've had. Whether or not to bring my period underwear or extra feminine products!
The app says its a birth control tracker but I don't use birth control. I'm just using it to help track/predict periods. I have been completing the mood, food, etc. sections too. I'm hoping to notice or spot a future pattern of chocolate/sweet cravings so I can prepare better in the future for it and plan a healthier snack regimen at work during the time of those cravings.
It just seems like a journal... if you don't go back to a specific day then it tells me nothing otherwise. I wanted to use the fertility tracker, but because I don't use any form of birth control it's pretty useless. It doesn't tell me when I should expect to ovulate at all. Not what I was hoping for.
I like the app but didn't realize until I had to get a new phone and download all my apps again that this app doesn't have you create an account so nothing is saved to you. It's essentially starting all over and again. If I'm going to have to start all over, I'm finding a new app.
I love PP for so many reasons, not the least of which is this app. It is more informative than other period tracking apps, and I like that I can track my mood and physical symptoms. Keep up the great work, PP! Much love!
Super helpful and informative. I've used period tracking apps for years but this one works uniquely to help me understand how my bc methods affect my body. Could use more symptom options though.
I love that I can track my mood and symptoms through this app while also keeping track of how my flow is. The reminders have never missed a day either! But I've been using this app for over 3 months and it still doesn't predict my periods. I'm usually regular starting either on or a day or two before my 28 day cycle. I don't know if it's a glitch in my app or if I just need to keep tracking everything for a few more months. It's just a little annoying that the feature doesn't work for me. UPDATE This app works perfectly. Never miss any reminders. And the day after I posted my review about not being able to track my period it started. Guess I was too impatient. I will definitely keep using this app!
Wonderful app, the only thing I can think to add is customization: the ability to add an emotion or activity to those provided. I love how it reminds me daily! I'd never remember it otherwise. Great for tracking my cycle.
Best birth control and female health app I have used. Abandoned my $120 bellabeat because this is just better. Donate to Planned Parenthood, they need it most right now.
I like this app for most things I just wish under the categories when you log how you're feeling/doing/what you did today there were everyday actions. Like I work most days and I don't always experience symptoms of my period. So more selections would be nice.
It was ok after a month but when my next period came around it was irregular. Instead of marking the date that my period came on it marked it 2 days later instead of the date I wanted. Never had this problem with a period app
It's a good app, but I wish I could log my own notes and body symptoms. Also, it's a bit annoying that it doesn't remind you to take placebo pills... Kind of ruins the "habit" I'm trying to cultivate.
I want to see my body and mood emoji on the calendar. I want more body and emotion options. I want to enable body ache, tooth aches, options for smoking and drinking, etc.
"Unfortunately Spot On has stopped." The message I've been getting since the new update, before that the app was wonderful, I use it to remind me to take my bc pill, I need the app to work!
I love this app! It really is Spot On (haha) but, seriously. It has been accurate after calculating my data. I know exactly when I'm going to start, and I've never been able to to that!
I think this is an awesome app for a million reasons. The only thing I would change about it is when you're logging, you should be allowed to pick the dates you're logging for. I usually get around to bed and entering my log after midnight, so the counter will be off. I can't write what my whole day is until my day ends, after all lol
It's very gender neutral which is great. All of the other period apps I've tried were hyper-femme and made me uncomfortable as a trans-masc person, but this one is very nice..
Awesome app! Love that it's not some girly flowery nonsense, and the dinosaur is adorable! The emojis are cute and I like that it allows you to track mood, body, activity, etc. Good info/tips/facts too. (I also like that it's centered around period tracking, not fertility!)
Great app until the reminders stopped working. They go off once after I set them, then stop unless I go and reconfirm the time, despite saying they're on. Missed a day because of this.
It's cute and easy to use. My pill reminder alarm goes off every night, so I haven't missed a day! Love it and recommend it!
I downloaded this app since I switched to from the pill to a copper IUD. My periods were always irregular before I was on hormonal birth control. Now that my method is non-hormonal, I wanted to have accurate information to provide my doctor in case it could help detect any potential health issues. SpotOn has made tracking my cycle so easy. I do wish there were more options to select for the symptoms you experience throughout your cycle, or at the very least a "write in" selection. Other than that, I am a very happy user and haven't had any performance issues.
This is an awesome app. If you have trouble answering the nurse at your Dr's office or want to track your mindset and look over your life's changes, this is for you
This app makes period tracking so simple. No excessive steps or functions making it a tedious task, just cute and silly pictures. I was torn between one detail: customization. While I was unhappy to know you cannot put your specific symptoms there, I also was relieved to know that I couldn't over complicate the app for myself. Perhaps Planned Parenthood could create a preset list in settings of maybe 15-20 symptoms. User would select 10 upon setting up for the daily check-in, leaving the rest available in the settings.
Used it to track my period after having my Mirena removed since it wasn't regular again right away. Now I've gone on the pill but am doing continuous use for three months, and that's not an option when you input that you are on the pill. Please make this an option!
Great app! I just wish it remembered when I'm supposed to take my pill when I open the app. It asks if I took it today even if it's hours before I set as the time i take it. Just a small thing though, all in all GREAT APP
I really like this app and def support the company that released it. However, my cycle is highly unpredictable, so I'm not so interested in trying to predict my next one (you can't!). However, since I have so much going on with my body in general, I'm a lot more interested in tracking my symptoms, moods, and activities, all of which are much more diverse than the choices available for selection (for example, chest acne vs. face acne, cold symptoms, regular cramps vs. Cervical ones, etc.) Periods are hella complex, and I don't feel like the available selectable choices per category can accurately capture the whole picture for myself or, frankly, others. Off to a good start, though, and I'm excited to keep using it and supporting PP! :>
I really enjoy the app. I do wish there were more options, or the ability to write your own. I also feel like there needs to be a way to mark down a flow heavier than heavy.
I love that this app doesn't assume gender! As a non-binary femme I hate the apps that assume not only that I'm straight, but also that I identify as a woman. I also love the extra features tracking mood, actions, and symptoms.
I like this app a lot, just wish you could add custom symptoms and activities. Personal notes too would be nice.
I like the concept of this app, but want more options. Right now, the body options are especially limited. I'd like to be able to add my own options to the daily categories like "clotting", "diarrhea", etc. A feature like this would let users track events and side effects that are unique to them.

I think the app is lovely. I can keep track of how I'm feeling and what I'm doing that day, as well as how long my period is. I'm thinking that with tracking my habits, I can see how certain moods effect what I eat or vice versa. I just wish I could put more than one with the bleeding, as I've had medium and then light (or nothing at all) or vice versa - for that I compensated with just putting what it is at the end of the day for me. It's very useful and I do recommend it.
