Selfloops for Android
Rough on the edges, but there is potentials. I wish they respond to the feedbacks. I can not connect it to Facebook to auto post! Plz fix it
Very inconvenient GUI especially for cycling, where you will have to flip through several views while on the bike to get the full overview of your performance. Plus points for readability and fast connectivity response - minus for not handling backlight/standby in a useful manner for biking. Not handling ANT+ sensor update with immediate speed/cadence stop well - slowly averages to zero. Okay for "in your pocket" use but there are far better app's out there for people seeking a serious training tool.
I have a couple of issues.. I recorded a ride today and got to the coffee stop, hit lap and got the dreaded "unfortunately selfloops has stopped" error.. It would be good if there was a way to rescue your ride after a crash (i tried looking through the files to see if there was an xml file somewhere that i could fix but no luck and it doesnt appear in my training history- will it be saved anywhere on my phone? Also I want to use this to record rides when i'm indoors on my turbo trainer but it seems that any rides that i record where there is no GPS connection generate an invalid file?
This mean that you can't use this app together with another app that you want to run simultaneously the same ant+ sensor. So for now unistaling.
I have a nexus 7, a usb otg cable and a garmin usb stick. Downloaded this, as well as the ANT Radio Service, ANT+ Plugins and the ANT USB service, and the selfloops ant service. When I plug the usb stick in, I don't get any popup asking me to start the service. Opening up the application and trying to pair my Garmin CS10 does nothing. Better instructions would be helpful.
Any chance of getting HRV (heart rate variability) testing? :)
Good
This app has very nice interface, user friendly, and got everything I need for cycling. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow user setting wheel circumference lower than 200 cm. If you use folding bike with 20 inches wheels (or smaller) and want to use your ant+ speed sensor instead of GPS, this app may not for you.
I dont understand why exporting the tcx file compresses it. Even if sharing requires compress I dont want it compressed when I save to my sd card. Adds complexity for nothing. Please fix it!!! The app is perfect otherwise
Simpe and easy-to-use GUI. Recognized my Wahoo Fitness HRM and Stride Sensor (foot pod). One issue I have found is that when I select "Running Indoor" so that the stride sensor is used instead of the GPS, the distance remains at 0 although the speed is displayed in real time. It is not very useful if distance is not computed using the instantenaous speed transmited by the sensor. I could not find a setting to calibrate the foot pod (preferably against a distance recorded by the GPS) against a known distance either. If this functionality can be implemented, it will become my favorite running app.
Works well, really great app and very straightforward to use. Nice clean website to analyse the ANT+ sensors. Great if there was an option to configure the sensor readings to display.
I have a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and a Garmin ANT+ USB stick for my heart rate monitor. With the ANT+ USB and ANT+ radio services, I should be able to use my HRM with my phone. This is one of ONLY two apps that have this functionality, and the only one that is user friendly (the other is IpBike). While others will work with a built in ANT+ antenna, this one works with an external one. It also utilizes Google maps, which is far superior to the maps feature of IpBike. Great app!

It is ok . The downfall is it does not tell you your current heart rate or calories burned unless you stop your current activity... Which then you have to restart again. Also it needs more activity options. Not everyone runs or walks indoor or out. We need weight training too, as well as being able to change activity without interrupting our progress. This is important for those who try to lose a certain amount of Cal's a day and or in a workout period.
