What are users saying about BestRoute Free Route Planner

by Q####:

It doesn't calculate the best route. Only creates a route depending on the order you list your stops. Pity, otherwise a great app.

T70%

Great free app. But what happened to the shortcut icons at the top in latest version? Please bring them back!

I love the app use it everyday for work there no other app like this one on the market I try them all and free is a plus only miss the icons on top on the addresses page.

Very useful app, one of the best if not the best

K70%
by K####:

The algorithm calculates wrong routes if you use a lot of stops (25), at least in the free version.

L70%
by L####:

No way to import from excell. The optimization is quite off. The closest points come added the furthest points.

Quirks: App UI is weird and took me an hour to figure out. Specifically on how to clear a stop once I've made it and move to the next. This doesn't happen automatically and requires jumping from Google Maps back to Best Route then hitting the check mark (which moves you down to the next stop), then hitting navigate to begin navigating to the next stop. The app doesn't account for where you are being your starting/return point. So when you do a round trip optimization the app assumes your first stop is the place you want to return to and optimizes around that stop being home. This caused me to go in a figure 8 type of route. Maybe lost 5-10 minutes. The work around is to make your location the first stop. Overall pleased. :)

N70%

Use the app every day the people who say it takes to long to put addressee in you can just put the company name and town it will find it and also you then have a list of company names not post codes

T70%

Finished saving 3 routes took me ages to type in over 60 addresses .. went out the next day to do my deliveries to find the saved routes have disappeared !!! Waste of time !!!

T70%
by T####:

Not smart optimization. Lost time and money.

Has a learning curve 4 sure, probably scares off many new users. Long pressing the icons pops up some helpful text. Maybe devs could do a screen shot walkthrough tutorial at first start to help users. I think it's the best app of its kind in Google market. It gives you the most stops, for free. Highlighting routes in map view would also be a plus. 5 stars if a real time location is enabled in map view. For now if you have 8 stops or less Voyager is better, just because it's more user-friendly

Great app to plan and optimize my routes every day! However, I wish they had CRM integration as that is really a huge advantage for me. I'm on the free trial for Badger Maps, also sales routing app, and really love it so far. With that app I can simply integrate my CRM and have all data on one place.

Z70%
by Z####:

I wish there was a way you could just click on the next stop and hit go. There's no button that just lets you go to the next stop. Or even if it automatically went to the next stop would be great. Part of the time I have to start all over halfway through the route or even exit out and use Google maps. What's the point if I have to do this.

I emailed you some suggestions (if the devloper(s) are still maintaining this app) like adding a duplicate/copy/paste & manual address/waypoints entry feature on your lists page and (not in email) a Satellite/Hybird view using GMaps Satellite views, please. But I TRULY like what I see thus far. Keep up the great work.

Very good free app I haven't used my satnav since i installed this app about a year now. not long learnt to use it properly as the basics were more than good enough. Very useful for multi drop and the pro version is ideal but I only do max 22 drops per day so I put up with the free version at the moment. I will buy the pro just to say thank you and support the project.

As a lawn specialist, I travel everyday to various subdivisions. My question is simply this.... When optimizing, why would u want to leave a subdivision before all customers were done, travel to a different subdivision, only to come back and finish where you started. Wouldn't it be faster and maybe a little better to finish one subdivision before you went to the next one?

T70%
by T####:

I like how I can plan my daily routes with this app but unfortunately I can't integrate my CRM to have my customer data. I am trying Badger Maps for that and it seems great so far and it can synch all my Salesforce data!!

T70%
by T####:

Great for planning my delivery run before I go to take into account my total days work. Would be better if gave a total of driving time with kms at the end of the run after putting in individual stop times at locations. Only does this if you don't add stop times in to each delivery.

R70%
by R####:

I am a multi drop driver thought I'd try this out have given a few chances but it's optimization is sooo bad for eg it'll take me to number 1 then put number 2 the other side of town and then number 3 back where number 1 is so just for 3 drops it's takes you 10 miles instead of 6

R70%
by R####:

Has some good ideas. Optimization is useless when more than 4 stops... Although the marks on the map helps doing it ourselves... Which is a loss of time due to the fact that the app is meant to do exactly that...

N70%
by N####:

Routing is totally stupid. It routes in the most chaotic way and I have tried different setting options... Still have issues. When searching for a address you must have it close to the exact house number, road and zip or it finds many addresses not even close to your location (Google maps does take in account for your gps location as a reference but this app does not) I use it for pin marks so I can goto bulk area points (works good for my job but as for saving time and perfect routes... Forget it.)

Ive been in the freight forwarding business for over 10 years and am always looking for very user friendly and ease of use routing software and this ain't it. Sorry but i couldn't find instructions and what is this variable and sticky stuff supposed to mean. If i can't figure out the software in a very short time to be able to set up my route then i have wasted to much time. And i am phone and scanner and computer savvy coz i have to use one every day

K70%
by K####:

I'm a driver with sometimes 30+ stops per day. I used this application and it's really help. Sometimes the optimization function doesn't organise the stops well if I have multiple stops one street but nothing a little common sense can't help with. Since all my deliveries from the right side of the truck it would be nice to see a feature for that.

R70%
by R####:

I agree fully with some of the reviews seen on this app - the core function of calculating the most efficient route between multiple points is excellent, spot on in fact. However the UI needs some work to make it intuitive as there are some frustrating issues with it at present. I'd like to offer to help the developer improve this app by suggesting changes that should be made; if the UI can be made more user friendly then this is a five-star app just waiting to be bought and rated

R70%
by R####:

This app really does work. The UI is clunky, and quirky, but it does plan good routes if you learn how to use it. The main thing is, you have to punch in where you're starting, and where you're ending. So if you're leaving from home or the office, and returning to the same place, you'll load that address in twice manually, at the top and bottom of the route. That way when you optimize it will give you a nice route of everything else in between. Like I said, quirky, unintuitive, but it works.

Works well. Used 3 times a week for over a year to deliver to around 25 - 30 drop offs with no issues at all. It has saved me miles and hours

R70%
by R####:

Doesn't work offline. Takes you to the first stop ok, but then the map goes blank and requests an online connection to move onto the next stop. Why? "Optimise" is anything but. Two addresses 1min apart, had a third address inserted between them, that was 20 minutes away. Why? I had round trip NOT checked, but it treated all stops like I was planning on making a round trip - by skipping some stops, as if it wanted me to catch them on the way back, zig-zagging all over the place. Why? I had to swap back and forth between this and another app, to cut & paste the addresses, because the map had blanked out after that first stop (because it needed to go online). It couldn't even leave the map on the screen so I could work out an approximate location of the next point. Had high hopes for this, but I went back to using pen and paper.

I gave my high school math class a travelling salesman problem using real locations in our city, and some of the devious little devils used your app to find the solution. I wish it were 1969 so I could give them all a sound thrashing. Wonderful app.

J70%
by J####:

Optimizing is horrible. completely worthless. Google Maps is my main navigation app. but does not provide multiple destinations. I am a delivery driver and can safely say this app will not route you properly nor give you the option to fix. So don't waste your time. Google Maps needs to implements this feature into maps and lay this app to rest

R70%
by R####:

I tried this app. Loaded in the addresses. Each address asks to be optimized. Once the list was optimized and made it just sat there. I pressed one button and the start time was entered and the whole theoretical route was set in stone. I could not change the order or add to the list. Worst part was, after entering all the addresses and getting ready to use the app. Absolutely nothing happened, click on the first address..nothing. Also, no way to figure it out. Non intuitive, click or double click an address..nothing.

R70%
by R####:

Needs improvement. I like that it has a GPS feature but adding addresses is long and confusing , what is a "sticky address"??

R70%
by R####:

I'll be buying the pro version. Saves time this app. No subscription fee either. I hope it gets even better! Ade.

R70%
by R####:

Badly needs a tutorial. Even a silent screen recording of basic use would be very helpful. I'm still stuck at entering stops... entered them and then what. I click everything around and then what? How to see the route...

R70%
by R####:

App has no instructions, no help files or YouTube training videos. I would have bought the premium version had a demo been available.

R70%
by R####:

Hi, im using this app to make a motorcycle trip, selecting curvy roads. I would love to see the app load the nextwaypoint after one has been reached so i can just ride on. Would be a killer app for motorists around the world this way.

Z70%
by Z####:

I tried this and it royally SCREWED me. I will give one more chance tomorrow. If by some miracle it decides to work right, I'll increase your stars. And why doesn't it take your starting point as the begin to round-trip? Obviously I'm gonna start from where I'm at!

Z70%
by Z####:

Use this app occasionally for work and it'd be nice if we can change the stops by holding and dragging it to the order we like. Using the arrows take a little time before hitting the optimization button.
