Self Control for Study

It helps me get off my phone when I need to do something productive. I wish there were more exception options, or an option so you could always have an exception. I also wish that they made it so it didn't always say "study" time since I use this for more than study, as well as individual restrictions for each individual time. What if I want to restrict Skype in the morning restricting time but not at night? It hasn't been added so far. Other than that, its perfect for everything.

BEST self control app EVER! This app prevents me from using my smart phone effectively and doesn't let me give into my cravings. :P If you really want to study and don't want any distractions then this is the app that you need. Once you enable it you can't change the settings which I think is a great feature because that restricts you from using your phone furthermore.

It was working marvelously before, but after I upgraded to cyanogen os 12.0, not all of my apps are in the Exception list, so I can't allow some key apps such as Google search. Edit: some bugs are fixed, but Google search still isn't an option in the Exceptions. Also, the exceptional state to cancel doesn't work either! August 2015 edit: still the same issues! I need this app, and it would be fantastic without the bugs, so please fix it!

Works as intended. Note: to all those people saying it doesn't work with android 5.0 and above, I found a fix (sort of one) that works on MY phone (doesn't mean yours will). What I did was install the app as a system app. To do this you have to install an app called system app mover which allows you to convert normal apps to system apps

For the most part, it's really good, and does help. However, the apps you choose to allow access to don't always let you in, which gets annoying. I allow myself to use texts and the calculator while studying, but most times it won't let me in. And sometimes it does allow access to the internet, which I shouldn't be allowed access to. For the most part, the biggest issue is that it won't allow access to the exempt apps. If this was fixed, it'd be 5 stars.

Its says study time but I can still check all my apps like fb, insta. Is it compatible with android phone oppo f1 plus? So confused and disappointed. Lot of people have given such good reviews.

Gets pretty annoying when the apps you put an exception on aren't accessible until you close and open it 20 times. You can also cheat out of it by stopping the process

The app is so perfect & so simple. It really helped me to concentrate into my studies and keep my self away from the 21st century's bigest diversion (mobile):-D. Loved it ppl shd try.

This app worked brilliantly up to 1 or 2 months ago, blocking everything, but now it's stopped working, anyone know why? I start the blocking and I can still open Internet and all the other apps. if the creators can get it back to how it used to work, that's be amazing

It was Good Before but when since a few days, when i try to open some apps(which are not ticked in the exception list) , it doesn't pop up any " It's study time now" even when the study mode is ON.

This app is great it helps u remember that u have to study and stop procrasinating. I always say ill take a break for 10 min but it usually then turns into an hour. This helped me ALOT hope it helps u too!!

I installed, uninstalled and reinstalled it for about 5 times but it's not working on my phone.. It is not blocking any of my apps n I hv access to all my apps even wen I hv not added them to executable onea..Please fix this.. I need this app right now so bad!!!

Soooo. Helpful in the worst way. It literally block you for a set amount of time, no fail. And I get frustrated cause I'm lazy, but it has really helped me get my work done.

I had this app on my older phone and it worked great! On my new phone, which runs lollipop, I keep getting the app malfunctioning, it blocks me from apps that I've marked can be executed at all times. Please fix

Used to work fine, but now it tries to block me from system apps like Gallery or Phone, which aren't available on the exception list. Otherwise it works well for me blocking the apps I actually set it to block (galaxy s4 lollipop)

I used to love this app! But now it just stopped blocking my other apps. I checks my exceptions list, but that's not the problem. I hope they fix this. Until then, I'm trying different apps.

Phone app is not selectable so i cant make an exception for phone calls. It also trys to stop me using unchecked apps. Using latest version of android

I think that you should develop a way that should ban us from Uninstalling this App While we're on Study time.. cuz I always cheat and uninstall it to use my phone lol :D

Works fine. It does what its supposed to but it's very unappealing to the eye. So a theme or color scheme or something besides what looks like simplistic programmed colors if possible. And its frustrating that you can't press and hold the home key to get to open apps that are not restricted

I use this app to block youtube app for certain time in a day but it also blocks my onedrive app, could you please explain and fix? Thanks.

For someone who isn't a very disciplined worker I find this app helps me heaps! It's cut down my study times, and my marks have improved. Personally, the extra time the app gives me give me more time to enjoy more sleep and downtime which also helps me as I am in a critical stage of my studies. 100% recommend for anyone who is studying.

It stops me from accessing the applications which I have checked as exceptions and rendered my phone useless to me for the entire time the study period was active. The only function it doesn't block is incoming calls

Earlier it was running fine on lollipop 5.0.1 i don't know what the hell you did with it. Now this app don't allow exception apps to run. It blocks the exception apps too. That's horrible.

Hi I have yesterday downloaded this application for blocking Facebook Whatsapp during my working hours. But it didn't block any. I'm using it on one plus 2 phone.

No longer works. Comes on, but everything still opens. Miss it. Update: now exceptions don't work.. Most things I want to use get stomped. Still miss it.

Used to be great on my former phone. Tried using it on my new phone (Android 5.1) but it doesn't block anything. Developer, please reply. Does anyone know any alternative app that does the same job

Loved it until I updated my phone, now it doesn't work right!! Once I updated my phone it still allowed me on the apps during the times I told it not too! Very disappointed because before that this app was awesome!! I emailed the creator about this issue weeks ago and still have not heard back from him!

A good app, it does what you want it to do. The only issue I have with it is when you use the "run right now" feature, is the numbers you are putting in is the amount of time it's going to block, not the time it's going to block until. I've had issues where I want to block until 23:00 and instead it blocked me for 23 hours. Once I figured out that issue and adjusted, it works great though. UPDATE: previously 4 stars, down to 2, CANNOT ADD PHONE TO EXCEPTION LIST AFTER LOLLIPOP UPDATE

This app was perfect for studying. Now i try to use it to force myself to go to sleep and wake up instead of messing around in my phone. The problem is that now the apps i have checked as exceptions wont work. I just want to use my calculator and it will not let me. I have also had issues when using an excepted app, the Self Control page will constantly pop up and it's really bothersome. I dont know what the makers did to change this app, but the need to revert back to the way it was.

for all who say that they find way to uninst. or exit and etc. itis made to help u to not waste time with your will to do that but if u not...nothing can stop u wasting ur time ..so stop saying garbage it is genius prog

This app was helpful for blocking apps that I want to avoid while working. However, I recently put my apps into folders, and whenever I try to open an app from a folder, Self Control blocks it, whether it's checked as am exception or not. Additionally, at random moments while I'm doing something in an app I have checked as exception, the self control screen randomly pops up and I have to close the app. It also blocks the system UI and task manager, so I can't close apps while self control is running.

I just moved from my Samsung s3 to Droid Turbo2. I loved this app. Worked perfectly, but, doesn't work on new phone. Very sad! Please update it!

I have installed this today. Able to access everything despite setting study time and preferences. Will uninstall it tommorow if it continues like this.

This is the perfect app to keep you away from getting distracted and wasting your time on stuffs in your androids....helps a lot in studies...there is no chance to open it once you have started the timer.....but if someone has started the timer and needs to use the phone for emergency then i have the solution.....restart your phone and within four to five seconds uninstall the app....then you are free.....thx dev for this app....

OMG this app was amazing I needed it in my life. I hate updating my phone, but it accidentally happened. And then when I started this app after, it doesn't work right!! The stupid self control sign pops up 10 times in a row in my home screen and same when I'm trying to use my exceptions. Like wtf so then i need to take off self control and now my life is going downhill just cause I'm so addicted to my phone. HELP MI PLIZ. I'm giving you guys a chance, fix it or you are out!!!!!

Same Problem as always. I've used this app off and on for years on three different phones and I can't believe the problems still haven't been fixed. All I usually want to do is block my browser so I don't get distracted (but still have access to email, messages, camera, etc.- everything else). Unfortunately, while it DOES block the browser, it also blocks a bunch of other unrelated apps, and it seems to be totally random which ones it picks. Camera, Gallery, Maps, etc. It's so frustrating- I just want one app blocked; you would think that's simple enough. It works fine if you want to block everything on your phone, but then why not just turn it off or hide it? Please fix the bugs- this could be a great app!

Nice Thought, It also does its work. But I am Still not on Track. I Force Stop it and start using my mobile need some little improvement in myself. By the way It could be good if it display customizable screen instead of always displaying ITS STUDY TIME and should have customizable background when locked it will help in getting more Motivation.... By the way Thanks For Providing Such a Nice App....

Checked the contacts app however i cannot access it when locked out... have had to make a few calls but couldn't... only issue with the app

I don't usually rate apps but I must say this app is awesome..it keep me away from using my phone when am studying...and this app does keep me away from my phone..and there's no work around unless u set it or cancel under option available under setting
