About Mounts2SD - Storage & Memory

Mounts2SD is a customizable sd-ext control script that can be used to move content to and from the second sdcard partition known in Android as sd-ext. In addition to moving content, Mounts2SD comes with other features and is also the only script that has a bunch of safe guards build-in for almost any situation, making sure that when things go wrong, the script will adapt and try keeping your phone running 100% and try to make sure that data is not lost or corrupted. And it comes with an app to configure the script and monitor the options current status in real time.

I was getting insufficient storage space even after rooting and installing mounts2sd, moved dalvik cache to sd-ext4 partition and my internal memory increased to to the size of sd-ext partition.

X70%
by X####:

The app does exactly what it says it would. After installing the boot script, /sd-ext is mounted and ready to be used - as is the swap partition. Thanks a lot for this useful tool!

X70%
by X####:

I have no clue if it is worth rooting this htc desire x for this app since I can't find out how to increase the app-storage

X70%
by X####:

I try install script but it says "fail to copy mount2ds system/etc". What happen?

With update it is going to better then better... Tremendous work by developers.. thanks to all developers for this kind of work for low memory devices...

This worked much better than Link2SD, at least for my use case. Thanks for this easy to use app. I'm happy! TODO: build a kernel with swap support.

took me couple tries to get working but once i turned on usb debugging it worked

Running succes on My Lenovo S920. I got so many internal space. But, ALL MY APPS being SO SLOW. Help me How to fix it? I partitioned my 16Gb sdcard into two part. 10Gb for my MP3 files and 6Gb for Sd-ext.

M70%
by M####:

After modding my HTC Droid Incredible and putting Kit-Kat on it, I needed a way to increase the pathetic 700MB of internal memory, especially if I am going to be using ART instead of Dalvik-Cache. This app works very well and now I have 6GB of "internal" space. This, alongside zram and a swap partition, have breathed new life into my phone. The only problem that I have is that it isn't showing the remaining space of the external partition. Even though I formated this partition as ext3, it's showing yaffs2.

O70%
by O####:

Having a phone with very little internal memory this app is a life saver. After it creates a start up script and you specify the setting you would like to use it will automatically move the things you want to the sd-ext partition on your SD card. I am running a custom rom and have not had any problems thus far.

Z70%
by Z####:

Need to have all apps installed to SD card both small and large data, not install to internal them move to SD. A. D how did you rewrite the script to install directly to SD card?

X70%

Please , is there any solution to solve bootloop problem after using this app ?! i forgot to take a backup -_- so if there is anything tell me ,please ? Thank you :)

X70%

Perfect solution to low internal memory.works flawless. please check pre requirements like root, ini.d support before installing then it won't disappoint you.need a class 10 card for smooth running.

Just the app what I wanted! For those who get the sqlite error just extract the APK and install the Fallback.zip from Recovery!

M70%
by M####:

This app gave me the much needed extra app space on my Nexus One. Though it took me many hours to get it working, it's worth the effort.

I am able to mount my sd-partition :) :) However there is one problem, sometimes after reboot the system fails totally and irreversibly , a factory reset only solves problem, I am still testing this trying to move the required apps like play services to sd FAT partition so that in case of a crash the system will only fail partially. For those who are facing problems This might work 1-Backup data and then factory reset 2-First install - mounts2sd 3-open the app, , grant root access when asked, 4-Go to Application settings, install the script, re-run sqlite 3 fix just in case 5-check the relevant boxes in settings-the "data move", "cache move" etc, check the debug box, just in case anything goes wrong 6-Allocate 10% in "Storage threshold" just to be safe, but may not be needed for some users 7-Move "mounts2sd" to phone memory (not sd card) manually from android system settings (most important) then Reboot, 8-Mounts2SD should run automatically on next boot 9-Open the app and check the log for more info, and the storage use in "Android applications menu" should show very limited internal memory usage

Just moved from Link2SD. I feel this is easier and more user-friendly than the previous onw. This brings my Arc back to life.

C70%

One word to describe it. My phone is 4 years old and without the script provided by this app, I might be able to install SwiftKey and one other app. If you are getting an insufficient space warning from Play, and you still have space on /data and /sd-ext, the app is probably to large for download, install and replacement. Open the settings, select move data to SD option. Reboot. Install update. Change setting back to normal and reboot again.

Always helps when I change ROMs. Does what its supposed to. The low ratings are because of people not knowing how to use it or a problem on their end.

The app says Could not locate the SD-EXT partition. This should be the 2nd partition on the external sd card!! There is no startup script present on your device. Go to app setting and install it! I dont understand what it says. What should i do? Please explain it to me. HELP

Very good script and app, keeps my internal storage on a 'cool' space. But i've uninstalled this because of random reboot caused by mounts2sd. Up to 10x or more reboots in single day. I am using galaxy ace 2 with CM11. Can you help me?.

Does nothing at all, not one function.... all it does is have some obscure tip and nothing else. Waste of time and energy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Sorted out my HTC Pico space problem after almost three installations and two CM9 flashes :/ but yet its not showing total mounted space on APPs n internal memory portion, though working perfectly with granted space.

Great app. Freed some 500+MB from 1.1GB internal memory. Can see that extra zip in phone response now.

C70%

I tried it. My internal storage kept getting used up, regardless of what settings I made in this app. Three stars for an honest effort, though. This app didn't make my apps not use the internal storage, rather more like it only moved some of the app data. I still ran out of storage space for apps, data and caches. I wrote an init script to replace /system/etc/init.d/01mvdalvik, so the system never has to worry with regards to app/cache storage. I decided to completely remove the internal storage from the equation, with regards to apps, dalvik-cache, system, cache, app-data. I have a second partition on my SD card that completely replaces the internal storage, and I love it. My solution forced me to learn the internals of CM7.

limited toolbox binary .... WTF ... nothing happened 1. write hint how to continue if a report dant recommend further steps, and there is no intuitive file log than is useless :/ but thx for effort hope next version will hint a clue

- I was getting so tired of my phone's 1.5 GB internal memory limiting the number of apps I could install. Now that most apps as well as most of their runtime data is saved on a separate 6 GB ext4 partition on the SD card, that's one thing less to worry about. Currently running a custom Android 5.0 Cyanogenmod 12 on my Xperia L with ThunderZap 4.10 and full Gapps, and so far Mounts2SD works a lot smoother and more intuitive than Link2SD Plus. Thanks SpazeDog (Hoping that Mounts2SD isn't dead)
