About Comica

Comica is THE digital comic reader and image viewer for Android devices.

It has a beautiful graphical interface, that uses the thumbnails of your comics organised in simple and pleasing ways. Full dual-pane mode is available and you can even take snapshots of images you have zoomed into and store those separately. Bookmarks per comic are of course supported.

Comica can scan for comics on your sdcard, add those to your collection, and organise them all based on the folder structure you have placed them in. Very easy.

You may also search your SDCard using the file browser option and find the relevant comic or image files that way.

Best, width, height and '1 to 1' aspect ratios are supported.

Dual Pane MODE now supported!

Controls :-
1) Tap once on the screen to bring up the image controls.
2) Double tap to zoom in and out.
3) Pinch and Zoom.
4) Touch and move.
5) Tap side of screen to turn page.
6) Flick finger left or right to change page - or use the image controls.

Press Menu > Options on the main screen for the system settings.

You can even add an extra folder to be scanned - or scan the whole system..

Accepted file formats : -
1) .cbr, .cbz for comics
2) ,jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp for images

All temporary files and thumbnails are stored in the folder 'Comica'.

TROUBLE : Every effort is made to ensure a bug-free application. If you do encounter a problem - SEND ME AN EMAIL! and I'll fix it. Write a harsh comment with no real info and I'll stumble around in the dark trying to find the bug - psychically. Your choice.

I really like this app but please fix the transition problem. Would be great if it had smooth sliding like the dc comics app

I bought the paid version a while ago and it worked wonderfully. Some time later I came back to this app to find that it doesn't even read comic files on my SD card and the menu text gets really wonky when scrolling. Maybe it's the newer phone.

Occasional out of memory errors but better compatibility than acv. REQUEST: Would love ability to set default zoom options. (By width in my case.)

Comica is hands down the best .cbr reader on the market. Totally worth two bucks. Just wish it had a screen brightness adjustment.

ver close to all my needs in a comic reader. Browsing style and automatic Bookmarks are great. Maybe the reading experince could need a little work.

C70%
by C####:

Comica is a solid, reliable comic book reader. The author keeps pumping out updates and fixes which is nice because the reader improves. I have tried most of the readers out there and this one is great on a tablet!

Would like sorting order options (directory then subdirs sorted first, then alphebetical/numerical.) More like a tree sorted in explorer.

Would be great if menus looked more clean like ibooks style. Reads the comics really well and very clear images.

This blows Acv away. Well worth buying, with new tap to turn pages its gone from 4 to a solid 5 stars.

Works well when it works. Marred by memory errors and the odd refusal to open a file that other apps treat correctly. The odd crash on start or scan made for a poor experience.

Worked perfectly before my Nexus updated to 4.1.1. Now occasionally force closes. Still the best in the Play Store by far.

Needs a more natural scrolling and always getting a memory error

I totally love this reader it is far superior to any other reader. Some may look pretty but are not so easy to use after all this is for reading your beloved comic collection. Only gripe it no longer reads from sd card bit of a pain but after all I dont really need all my collection on my phone or tablet.

I love the way it loads most comics. The only problem i have is on my samsung galaxy tab when i leave to go do some thing else and come back it is not where i left it. It is where i left it the day before.

I have tried countless other comic reader apps, and none of them come close to comparing to this. Easy-to-use and beautiful interface, amazing compatibility (every comic file I threw at it, it read), and great options for use. I never buy apps, but I was more than happy to cough up the $1.99 for this one after using the free version for about two months. I was giving it a chance to crash and break my heart like the others - it never did. Buy this now - you won't regret it! (Used on Acer Iconia Tab A500 running Android 3.2.1)

Truly a wonderful reader. The reading experience is perfect. The library setup is nearly perfect. Haven't seen any updates in a while, but it's not like there are any bugs that need fixing. A 'mark as read' feature would make this app truly the best.

Nicely lain out , easy, intuitive, looks good , good selection of options without becoming annoying or clumsy, needs ics or tablet ver , works just ok with my tablet, amazing on my charge, nexus, galaxys, and droidx , runs on my asus prime but crashes from time to time , still works though , thanks dev

To be honest, I thought this app will provide something that other apps don't ie page turn but it just gives fling effect not a real page turn. I guess, it is an alright app but IMHO, Comic Rack & Perfect Reader are far better as they have smoother animations & more friendly menu & customisation option. Unfortunately, Android comic apps lag in one respect to ios comic apps & that is photorealistic page turn effect.

Simple to use, beautiful to look at, & straight to the point. Comica is the app I needed most for my manga collection. Best of all it's stable on older phones!

I was struggling to use another app when I decided to try this and what a difference it made. Loved it almost straight away and recommended it already to others. The only thing I ask is an option when viewing a single page in "width" fit zoom, that tapping the side for "next" take you one full screen down (if that makes sense) instead of going to next page. I would prefer this to dragging the screen to move down the page. For an example of this behaviour try CDisplay on the PC.

Here I found the best comics reading experience. Works well, has the smoothest panning and most of the options I needed. Not recommended for large CBZ, takes forever to extract hundreds of images.

R70%
by R####:

I love the clean UI which helps is keeping focus on the comics and not the app. GPU rending support is needed though for ICS devices. Automatic detection of dual device storage is badly needed as it will help people with phones that has both an internal storage and external SD. Currently users are required to enter manually the directory location in the options.

Very nice interface. Only suggestions would be if you could start reading without it having to load the whole book which is a problem on larger books. Also an option to reverse which side of the screen to go forward
