Spare the Air Bay Area is the official air quality app for the nine counties that surround San Francisco Bay: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, southwestern Solano, and southern Sonoma counties. The app provides Alert Day notifications, county by county air quality forecasts, several tools to help you personally reduce air pollution, as well as air quality podcasts.

Just read the other reviews and you have a good culmination of everything that is wrong with this app: - Unintuitive - Annoying - Tiny podcasts (unless you view on a tablet) - Ridiculous and blocky maps - Vague status report ("No spare the air day" or "Spare the air day" + date, that's it) - No particulate breakdowns - No "burn" indications The most useful thing is the page that offers the 800 number to call and report exhaust, fires, vehicles idling, etc. And that isn't too useful for the most part anyway. I didn't try the biking feature, but I wouldn't expect much more. I deleted it!

Not intuitive, can't zoom in on the podcast page that's too small to read. App needs a lot of work. Id like to know if I can burn or not as soon as I open the app and ensure its for my county. All it says is status unavailable.

Good app. Nice to know when the state can fine you for burning wood. Push alerts turn themselves on DAILY when I turn them off. Extremely annoying, almost to the point of uninstalling.

This app sucks. The only good part is it tells you when there is a spare the air warning. Whoch seems to be every day.

Seems to do what I expected, but what I don't expect is when I say "no push", I expect it to stay off, not keep turning on. Apps should not stay in memory when not being used, this one does and far too many like it suck the life out of my droid. Uninstalling. Will spare the air the old way.

It is not up to date and is showing the status as unknown when it is in fact a spare the air day. My furnace is insufficient for the are I am trying to heat up and I rely on my fireplace which does a great job. I need accuracy as I do not wish to be turned in by my neighbors for burning on a spare the air day. I'll stick to looking it up the old fashioned way. I uninstalled this app.
