SpanishDict Translator for Android
I think this is a must have app for Spanish learners BUT I am deducting a star for the constant push for a rating in the Play store. Sometimes I just want to quickly check a word or conjugation and then the poo up appears asking do I love Spanish Dict and you can't proceed until you press yes or no then another pop up appears asking you to leave a review. I'm hoping by actually leaving a review the reminders will cease otherwise I will be uninstalling and editing this review and removing stars. I did that before with another app. As I said I hope that doesn't happen as I really do enjoy the app. Developers if the reminder didn't pop up so regularly I would have given you 5 stars
A very helpful tool to learn or enhance your spanish skills. Great dictionary and conjugation table too, and great translation. I gave four stars because it needs a little polishing, but still a great app. Can't highlight text for copy and paste. It would be great to have a choice to fix text size, and maybe choose different colors for like example sentence color vs. definition color. People see at different levels. It also helps people with color related sight problem. This app is on the right track though, make a few tweaks and I will kick it up to five stars.
I like it cause it helps so much. It only needs a better voice for clearer pronounced words. Also it should have a spot where you can add notes to what you are learning. That would make it perfect. The womans voice is way better then the man's. I promise if you take his voice out and add in a notebook for the words we learn ETC.... Ppl will love it. I was bummed cause i couldn't write it right away. Nobody wants to keep downloading different apps cause it takes up space and having to close this app to go to another isn't good at all. It's all about using technology and ppl want to use it to make life easier instead of grabbing a pen and paper. It helps to learn faster cause it's fresh in the mind and having this would be AWESOME!!!! ANYTHING, I can do to help I will.
Extremely helpful app! As a beginning Spanish student, I have used several Spanish apps. Most are very helpful but do not really stand out as great. For me, this is now my "go to" Spanish app. If I've bookmarked it on my laptop, desktop, and phone, it must be very a useful tool. This is also my first rating of an app.....ever! That also says alot about it in my opinion.
Simply put, this app I a godsend if you are in a college Spanish class like I am. I love the layout. Everything is easy and simple no navigate. It explains Spanish saying instead of word by word translations. For example, if you look up hace falta, it will indicate that it means "I need to (do/get something), whereas other translation sites would translate it by word, making it "make absence" which doesn't make any sense
I'm a beginner in learning Spanish, and this app has been really helpful in addition to my usual Spanish learning podcasts. I hear the best way to learn is to practice in conversation, but with the vocabulary of a 2 year old, this can prove difficult. With this app, I can quickly look up words without making the conversation choppy and awkward. Between this app and some patience from the person I'm speaking with, I learn (and remember) some new words, grammar, and get to practice in short period of time!
Is there anymore to say? It has a simple layout and is terrific to use. Love the example sentences as they help clear things up, especially when words have different meanings. Seems almost impossible it's a free app and I hope it stays that way.
A bug that has been very annoying: When translating for example 'descuidó' it always takes me to 'descuido'. This happens with all the words that have an accent on the last letter. The flashing ads on bottom and top can also be very annoying. Otherwise I really like the app.
Best Spanish Dictionary App I,very used so far. You don't have to select whether you want to go from English to Spanish or vice versa, you can type up the word in any form. Some dictionaries I've used only have the verbs workout conjunction so if you didn't know the original word you were out of luck. This gives you all the conjugations and examples of how to use it. Has been so helpful haven't found a word yet that it didn't include.
I know spanish and speak it. My problem is I'm not good at writing it. Takes me a long time just to reply a small comment. Which in English takes just seconds. Anyhow I really like how the words are spelled out exactly as I have seen them be written and spelled. The other day , I did try to get a translation on a comment I wanted to post in Spanish. What I found wrong, was it translates exactly how you put the words, instead of translating it how it should sound. If I'm making any sense.
SpanishDict is the best translation site I've come across. Their Web page can be sluggish due to some of their ads. The app works just like the website but never slows down. The app is very easy and intuitive. The conjugation tables are very helpful. The info presented is extremely helpful for learning Spanish.
This is my 'Go To' Translator. Sometimes I think it makes the translation a bit more complicated than it needs to be, but overall, it is very Good! My daughter graduated with a major in Spanish, and is dating a Peruvian man for years now. They always make the translation simple, and I think: I could have done that! But my Spanish clients always understand, and I lean on this great tool.
This app and its corresponding website has served me well for a long time! I am entering my 4th year in a Spanish class and this app has been a helpful tool for double-checking work and quickly reviewing Spanish grammar. I recommend it to all Spanish students who are looking for a helpful academic resource!
I really like it. Good for looking up phrases and is better than Google Translate. Only problem is that it's still computer created and will get some words and phrases incorrect. Doesn't and probably never match up to asking a Spanish speaker but I don't expect it to.
Great for translations. It's nice that it offers alternate translations. However, it sucks up my data allowances, I use it frequently every day. I believe it's the ads that consume the data. If there was an an ad free version I would buy it. Because of this I have switched to another app that doesn't run up my phone bill.
Very accurate and helpful. I use it all the time. I love that I can write in English or Spanish and it will give me more than one answer. But the thing I love the most is those phrases as example. They are long and fancy. Not some 3-4 word simple and boring proposition.
Great app for daily use! Sometimes audio doesn't play and have to tap the speaker several times, other than that it's excellent. I can't believe it that you don't provide an option to remove ads, I would pay not to see them, since I really hate ads. Useless, annoying, disgusting crap of this decade!!!
I would've rated this 5 stars, had there been a feature to store the database files on the SD card. It takes up an unnecessary 200 extra MB on the internal storage. The developers could easily solve this by changing the app data directory from the /data partition to /storage/sdcard0/Android/data
UNFRIENDLY FOR TABLET USERS as it doesn't have auto rotation to view in landscape mode. Very frustrating. Also there are no suggestions for correct words (like in Google translate for example) after you get the search results, so if you write a word with a typo then you get nothing which is awfully annoying and frustrating. Very decent dictionary with conjugation though.
I don't know about the features mentioned. How would I? Recently I realized what I would really like is to open the app, and as I was reading, be able to pronounce the word and the app would translate it. The app would stay open. A verbal command or a keystroke or a pause would signify that a new word was to come. I use my dictionary due to familiarity, range of the word's meanings and context interpretation. Even a simplification would be a tremendous help. Thanks.
Was really struggling with Spanish until I found this app. Instead of word for word translation and sounding like an idiot, I can actually translate and learn sentences and phrases in the correct context. It's a great app and much advised if you're a novice looking to learn a new language :)
This app has very good translations but it crashes way too often. It's like a teacher that shuts down after you 1 or 2 questions and for me it's a little frustrating. However because of accuracy I will continue to use.
Quick and hepful reference tool. Lots of great examples. The only negative is that some words and expressions appear to be inaccurately translated or used as I found out in my spanish class. So be sure to doublechecksome meanings.
When I use the app, it frequently encourages to use the website to search more if it doesn't come up with results. When I use the website, it sometimes tried to get me to open a search result on the app. Please make up your mind, little app
It is pretty good since it also has audio to help pronunciation. I haven't tried it offline but I found one annoying drawback, it crashes often. Hope you can fix that :)
Pros... It works to find definitions. Works offline. Cons... There's no history of words you have looked up. Sometimes the definitions are missing or incorrect. There's no history or bookmarking words for later (please add this!).
I use this all the time for my college studies. My instructor first recomended it to me. I love how I can look up the infinitive of a word and it has a thorough definition, it gives me the conjugations AND examples of useage. Like all translations, it can't always be perfect, but this one is the best one I have ever seen.
This app helped so much with my junior and senior years of high school! Never before has an educational app earned a spot on my homepage but this one got it. ¡Se lo recomiendo!
I think the translations are done well and that the app also works well. I wish there was a way to input that I want to use the feminine or usted translation, since I didn't know the grammar well enough in the beginning. I also wish there was a way to choose the region that you'll interact with in Spanish. I want to learn Mexican Spanish and to use verbs and saying that Mexicans would understand and use. I hope I'll be able to be understood better the more I use Spanish in the workplace :)
Great app, does everything I need it to. The phrase translator is new from when I last had the app. Offline use is great for travel (I use this when I'm traveling in Nicaragua, then take it off my phone between trips)
I am basically a 'Landlord' with one tenant renting my spare room, right. Well, his English is nonexistent, and the same goes for my Spanish. Since downloading this app, our communication has improved a 180!!! Love, love, LOVE this application.
This app has a tendency to translate word for word which you really cannot do in Spanish. When the app does this, the translation makes no sense whatsoever. Also there are words that I have to Google to find bc this app doesn't have it. Other than these things the app is good for ppl just learning Spanish and I really like the verb conjugations.
I use this app to help with my daughter's kindergarten homework. I love that it provides 3 translation options. This allows me to choose the most appropriate version when doing a translation. Sometimes the translations through the isps are not accurate.
this is a nice app. but i have one problem that it doesn't translate numbers like 1, 2 etc. but on google it translates so please update this feature also...it will really help us for easier work
Great app! Would like the app to help me with spelling when I enter a word in Spanish that I've heard but don't know exactly how it is spelled. The app has suggestions but if you spell it wrong all longer suggestions disappear.
A very easy to use dictionary, it takes pains to separate homonyms and gives excellent example sentences. All verbs have their full conjugations given as well. So easy to use I'm still using it after leaving South America to build my vocab whenever I think of a phrase or word I don't yet know in Spanish.
I recently moved to Puerto Rico and did not speak Spanish. This app has greatly expanded my Spanish vocabulary and helped me talk to people about buying cars and turning on electricity and water.
Great reference app. For verbs, it has a tab for conjugations. If I type in a phrase, it will fall back to Bing translate automatically. Both English and Spanish are supported by the unified search bar, so you can lookup words in either direction.
I live with my spanish-only family, and this helps me out by saying the words that I do not know how to say in spanish.

It's a great app that works great even offline like a real dictionary. Sometimes I look up a word but it's not recognized and I know I've spelled it right. However, I think I'm coming to realize most of those words are specific to certain regions and may not be known by all Spanish speaking people so it's understandable that SpanishDict doesn't always know what they mean. Thanks for helping me out in a cinch!
