About My Loka
Loka village is located in mountainous area facing the Flores sea. It has a population of approximately 1430 people with 700 females. The male population are mostly working as farmers.
The village is appointed as the "desa percontohan" (pilot village) by the Bantaeng regency government. The government built an agriculture laboratory and green house in the village to conduct experimental studies, hoping to produce better seeds for farming by utilizing some of the traditional methods.
Most of the farmers plant onions, potatoes, chilli, carrots, taros, cabbage, etc by using inter cropping methods learnt from the agricultural instructions that come from Bantaeng regency.
The nearest city to the village is Bantaeng city which is about 30 minutes drive away. On the journey up, prepare to witness green hills and plantations of crops, accompanied by the breathtaking scene of the clear blue sky.
Upon entry into Loka, you will be greeted with a large arch that reads 'Welcome To Rural Agro' , as well as a hug statue shaped after various types of fruit and vegetable crops from the land. Along the way, you are welcomed by Chrysanthemum flowers that becomes a mainstay in the village.
