About Volume Booster
Volume Booster for Android - a free app that will raise your volume above regular levels. This is NOT a volume controller, it really is a volume booster. It should be able to volume boost your audio by about 300% (15 dB).
How to use Volume Booster:
- play music in your favorite media player
- enter Volume Booster app, use the slider to adjust the sound boost level
- if the volume boost effect disappears, enter Volume Booster again and change the boost strength.
Remember that this free Volume Booster should be used with headphones! Use Volume Booster with caution - too high boost may damage your speakers, headphones or cause hearing impairment. Use this sound booster at your own risk - you agree to not hold the developer liable for any damage caused by the Volume Booster.

This does work up to 70% increase (above normal max volume). For audio-only media (music, podcasts) in VLC, it works fine. For videos (in VLC), it requires extra steps to work, but it is possible. I have to set the video to pop-out mode, then open this program and set volume, where I can then open the video fullscreen with increased volume (it stops working if the video pauses, and you have to redo the pop-out method). Ads aren't too obtrusive (back button closes the rare pop up when changing boost %).
