Amdroid for Android
Unusable on Galaxy Nexus. Application is displayed incorrectly.
Fast over 3g but navigation stinks and needs a better now playing screen
More stable than lullaby but the interface is not very good.
stops after each song
Works sporadically, often won't connect, crashes frequently and can take ages moving between songs. Just left me frustrated
User only it can use .how do need without login users.
Crashes... That's about it.
Ill give you 20 bucks for a ported version of ampache mobile for webos. Please help.
Very simple. Could use menu button to add all songs to enqueue.
I take that back, its working fine
It force closes everytime I try to log in.
Excellent. Would love multiple servers support.
Most amazing stuff out there!
Always close on me! Samsung galaxy s 2
fair app. buggy on DroidX rooted. lot of force closes.
Galaxy S2 Shame on ampache too, no Android client which works so far
AWESOME!! Does the job well, though the interface can be a bit slow, and occasionally force closes.
Sorry, but this app isn't working anymore for the latest ampache server versions.
Works great, less filling. Not anywhere as good as my webOS version though.
Works great, thx for the update.
Force closes every time. I expected better coming from Ampache Mobile on WebOS. Switched to "Just Player" which is working great.
Works OK on jelly bean. Jitter free playback compared to Just Player.
Does not work for me sadly
Fine except all the forcecloses... should have better controls too, like pause button.
Works, very plain.
What a shame that such a great idea is so shittily (yup) done on android. Take a lesson from the webos devs. This app makes me want to delete ampache.
Nexus 7, as soon as I leave the first screen, it crashes. Restarting, I don't get far before more crashes.
Alpha quality. After selecting tag, artists aren't sorted. No ability to work with multiple servers or wifi. Vs. 3g. No bookmarks or playlists.
It's brilliant except I usually find 3 issues. 1. It's not a proper service so it gets killed when ram runs low 2. Shuffle and repeat don't stick on transfer from landscape to portrait 3. Would be nice to be more optimized for tablet devices
I run my netbook as a webserver and this is a great app for accessing my music collection via ampache. I love the minimalist UI. One complaint: if you input the ampache server URL wrong, instead of complaining, it force quits. That could make people think it's broken and turn away customers. Still I really like it.
I have to give this app a decent review, because it's the only one that will actually work with Ampache ACL correctly. Lullaby does not work with nonstandard ports, something that must be done when using most consumer Internet services, and also has not been updated for ICS, so I can't put it on my new phone anyway. Justplayer will connect to my server and load the database, but will not start streaming. So, I have Amdroid. This app is very simple. No album art is loaded, it's just white on black text of Artists, Albums, or Tags in very low resolution (looks terrible on a tablet)... but IT WORKS, unlike others. One major issue I have with this app is that it will not run in the background. If you leave Ampache to do something else, it may or may not keep playing. It usually will stop playing and lose your current playlist. Doesn't sound like a great review, I know, but it's the only app I've found that will actually work, which is kind of sad.
This app works fine, and if you want ampache on your android, this is the only ad-free app that is available on recent platforms. I'm rating it 3 stars because it does what it's supposed to do and doesn't crash, but the interface could be improved a lot. I'm sure some of the short comings are due to backward compatibility (it works all the way back to android 1.5 apparently) rather than design. It's my opinion that apps should have an explicit (menu) way to do every function in addition to shortcuts like the long tap, but it requires a guess to know how to load an entire play list (long tap, ofc), and then to play it involves backing through some menus. Not a crime but not ideal, imo. The app Lullaby seems to have a much better interface, and is based off this app (both are open source apps). Unfortunately, if your device is running an android more recent than 2.2 (like mine) then you'll need to have a friend running 2.2 download it and get it to you to side load it via a file manager app like astro. But worth it in my opinion.
Way too many force quits. Took too long to cache my database (artist names, not songs). Uninstalled. evo4g
It's a great start. But the controls are somewhat lacking (e.g. no way to remove from playlist). And it says album art is working, but I don't see it
Looked cool, but locked up my phone for a minute or two before I could even force close it when connecting to my server on WiFi. Uninstalled.
Keeps fc-ing while Lullaby works - has been like this on Hero for months now so I am giving up. One star for the idea...
Doesn't work, force closes whenever I run it on Evo.
Works very well (nexus 1). UI needs work. Can't wait on next version.
It works perfectly! Only thing i dont like is the lag, but that is due to my low bandwidth on the server.

Disappointed it doesn't run in the background. unstable.
