About ECA 2017
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the European Cytogeneticists Association (E.C.A) and the Scientific Programme Committee, I warmly welcome you all to the "11th European Cytogenetics Conference”, which will take place 1-4 July 2017 in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy.
Distinguished speakers will provide the most up-to-date reviews from the spectrum of subdisciplines of cytogenetics, including chromosomal imbalances and rearrangements, segmental duplications and CNVs, CRISPR-Cas9, telomere dysfunction and chromothripsis, meiosis and non-disjunction, chromatin organisation, tumour cytogenetics, prenatal diagnosis, quality control and animal and plant cytogenetics. It is our intention that this meeting should provide an opportunity for the participants to not only expand their knowledge and experience, but also to interact with each other as well as with the invited speakers. There will also be fellowships as well as prizes for the best poster presentations.
Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany. It is famous for its history and is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance. The conference will be held in Palazzo dei Congressi, which is situated inside the 19th century Villa Vittoria, with a unique city centre location in the heart of Florence. Experience the richness of history during the conference dinner in Palazzo Vecchio, the symbol of the civil power of Florence for over seven centuries! So don´t forget to mark your calendar for the first week of July 2017; a unique opportunity to combine science with a visit to wonderful Florence.
