I really like this app. I think it's the best security app for Android out there. BUT you should make it more obvious that, after an update, you actually need to open the app and look at it before it will continue to scan downloads. Unless there's a setting I've missed, any apps that get updated after sophos do not get scanned unless you open sophos and close it again. I think that's a bit dangerous.

I cant see what dis app is scaning in scan section while it does virus scan. On the whole nice app as compared to other apps features all are vry good i recommend dis app to all bcoj i hav almost used all the AV's but never get satisfied with any one. But dis app satisfies me. Plse just take care of scan section atleast we should b aware of what it is scanning and if possible add time also not possible addition of time atleast percentage of apps scaned.

It would better if this can be integrated with a start-up manager & a robust firewall. Hope in the next version it will be done. Otherwise great product. But, still can't call it a security suite. App protector crashes time to time.That needs special care from devs. Anyways I will keep using it as long as it will keep me safe.

Sophos knows what they are doing with security. However, this app throws way too many "low reputation app" alerts, with very little information about what is wrong with the (often high-profile) apps in question. Are they false positives or genuine issues? No way to know, so more of an annoyance than a feature.

Yesterday, I wrote a glowing report about this app. But now I am forced to reconsider. I am running Sophos on a Galaxy Tab S2 with Android 7.0. My Tab has never flagged up an app for consuming too much battery - until now. Sophos is consuming 1% per hour, which is an order of magnitude greater than anything else on my device. And I have deselected scheduled scans. Reluctantly will need to uninstall.

The only remaining free AV application on Android that makes any sense. An obvious replacement for MalwareBytes now that they have sold their souls and betrayed their user base. In fact, Sophia is much better than MalwareBytes ever was on Android. Wish I'd found that out sooner!

All in all this is a nice app that is easy on my phone's resources and battery. The fact it's free with no ads is fantastic!! The only three small issues I have are: 1) I wish during a scan it would show what was being scanned and a percentage complete, 2) I honestly can't see a way short of a force stop to interrupt a scan and 3) the notification icon a download has been scanned worked at first every time and now it's intermittent. With that being said it's still one of the nicest security apps I have ever used and I go all the way back to the cupcake version of Android.

I am recanting my initial review due to user error. We have it deployed now to about 12 mobiles, and it's working great. Easy to manage and monitor. Tried to start initial scan after install. It hung during Preparing to scan stage. Never got past it. Going back to Avast...
