Weather for Android
Cannot uninstall the app. Developer argues this app is not bloatware because some customers want the app. The obvious failure of logic here is that happy customers would not be impacted by allowing uninstall. Everyone else is forced to keep it in their phone. Maybe the app isn't good enough to stand on its own in the market and that's why it's force fed. Or perhaps we want to keep people from trying competing products. Like Microsoft's antitrust issues with windows media player! Standard trade practices / antitrust style restrictive behaviour by Sony. I'll make a report to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
This app has been crashing and restating for a month. I send a report every time and nothing happens. I can't even disable it, because even disabled it still manages to start up and crash.
Good. Very detailed. LOADS of info on whether I forgot abou(astrology)! Easy to use. Accurate as far as Iv seen. One problem, software needs to be updated, but otherwise is informative, attractive and user friendly!
The widget for this app is so bad & you can't do anything about it. For the last 4 days, it has told me it is foggy & 4°c! It's not even remotely accurate!
Great, straightforward weather app without unnecessary bloat. I really like the style/artwork. The only thing that I'd improve is that extended forecast would open in-app. Great job overall! Thank you.
Love the use of AccuWeather, just one complaint - needs update/refresh options for those who don't have 24/7 data connection, for example update on connect, plus update on wake, periodic update (every 30 mins, etc) with last update timestamp on widget. Also - any chance of key weather conditions in the status bar? Update - adding 5th star because of developer's responsiveness, attitude and ambition
Great. The pictures don't do this app justice. It's a small widget up top, unlike other bulky apps. I like how the thunder, sun move in real time ⌚
When it comes to weather applications, "Weather" is undeniably the "prettiest" application I have found... But beneath all the glamour, "Weather" is basically a web-app (a website made to look like an application), which is just lazy. To make matters worse, the application has advertising throughout! Being a web-app is lazy and unprofessional - but it's a minor annoyance... To fill the application with advertising though? It detracts from the experience and ruins what would otherwise be a great application! Most of Sony's applications are pretty polished, but "Weather" is an obvious exception and until these issues are addressed, I'll be getting my weather from elsewhere...
The app only shows the weather right now, which I can get myself by looking out of the window. Weather for later in the day/hourly redirects to the accuweather website. If the devs are going to be that lazy, they should just change the app into a simple webpage bookmark.
Well done Sony! I really like the improvements made to this app. The visual style is beautiful ????????????????????Rating it 4 Stars is a bit harsh but I feel there is room for improvement: if all of the weather data is available within the app, instead of opening a browser when checking detailed info, that would make it a top notch weather app. Thank you and merry Xmas ????
Application + active clock widget requires a location turned on all the time, which is power consuming, and with no reason at all... Otherwise a good weather app.
When i tried removing Washington from the list of the places it keeps coming up automatically. Need to fix it. Its Simple but without air quality index too.
The widget has become unreliable. Often showing "blank" with no details at all or showing wrong location (suddenly not the one it had been showing for the same physical place) or not sticking to one pinned. (Selecting a location and turning off use location doesn't seem to stick to the chosen one - "seems to" as it isn't scientifically recorded but felt. Blank widget is on reboot but it can stay that way for some time after the phone is running and everything else is stable... by sometime I mean more than a few minutes) I have assumed the errors are caused by some Oreo/Xperia battery management restricting the app/widget from updating but I don't know. The data it gives when asked is great.
Pretty good accuracy on weather forecast, when the widget can find my ACTUAL location, instead all I get is a widget forecast 185 miles away. No other app I run that requires location has any issue with where I am. Possible rating review following resolution.
new: updated to 1 star, because the current location is always incorrect. and i have regular weather widget plus one coupled with the clock, when i check weather on regular widget with no clock, automatically still brought to what it thinks my location is,instead to the city being shown on the widget. time passes by and things change, only the built-in weather widget stays the same. because my old review still stands: Under temperature I can only choose to see 3 characteristics, but I want to see more, like humidity and uv index and precipitation chance and wind speed and sunrise/sunset etc. accuracy is also not top notch, so i always rely on official local meteorological report and doublecheck.
I have tried every weather app out there and this one has the best widget I've seen. Good information, no wasted space, and it's always up to date. 5 stars when the app is compete and no longer links to the web site.
The developers should give the widget black font as well because I use the light theme on Xperia and the white widget is not visible
I like it, but for some reason it keeps adding Washington (DC) to my locations. I'm nowhere near Washington. I'm not even in the US. What could be the problem?
The widget appeared at the Lock screen ain't work on Android KitKat though. It's the latter one, of which version is 1.3A.2.3. Sometimes it doesn't find my exact location.
***I use the english version. still has some problem with RTL layout, even after updating. e.g. numbers are inverse ***(-2 > 2- or 25 > 52)
Please work on new XZ series this is the best I mean the animated widget no other apps can beat this. So please work on New series then 5 star will appear, thx u
No good...Widget on Home screen spends 50% of its time out of action.
This is boring design. Why remove the animated (Z2&3) widget ?? Put it back!!
What it doesn't have is my home town. Accuweather does who provides the forecast and their app does. This app has smaller towns that surround mine, but not mine. Come on Sony, use the same locations as Accuweather.
It's sad that the widget works only when the gps is on.
Need to go outside of the app and into a browser for any detailed information. Just implement an hourly view please!
The random location thing is why I'm uninstalling this
Location is wrong sometimes. Specially when I'm at home.
It keep adding location (london) automatically, although i have delete the location.
Why every time i delete Washington it keeps coming back? I do not live in America.
The Location function does not work properly. It points to an absolutely random location not even close to my location
Cannot change the location on the desktop. Only works when you delete all saved locations and add the wanted one.
Consistently gets it wrong. At least it's consistent.
Very detailed forecast. UV fand wind forecast is really handy.
Can you add option to make it look transparent so i can see live wallpaper in background.
Updated this morning and was hoping the location function would have been fixed. Nope.
See sir please include air quality index in next update
Washington in my location, and cannot be deleted.
Weather, temperature, and forecast in real-time no matter where you are in the world.

I like the app, sometimes the weather is slightly different in reality, but i understand the data itself comes from another source. What seems to be a bug: Since the last update, Washington keeps adding "itself". I remove it manually, then it's there again. I live in Europe, and was never even near Washington. It's not a problem, just somewhat annoying.
