Stereo Bluetooth Headset SBH52

After Android 6 update to my phone, Bluetooth connectivity issue is started, not able to end the call. If switch from Bluetooth to headset disconnect automatically.restart need to reconnect.

If you have problem with your loudspeaker try this its solved my problem ------------------------------ I had the same problem before. Finally i found that it came from the 3.5mm socket on Sbh52. Normally when you plug in the headphones then the sbh52 automatic switch the sound from speaker to headphones and vise vesa and this can be done by 3.5mm socket function (phisically). And somehow it does not reverse sound back to speaker after pull out the 3.5mm plug. All things that i had done just insert/pull out repeatly serveral times then it back to normal function. Let's try this.

This headset is awesome. I had a little trouble with it at first and started to feel very disappointed, but after installing the right apps and firmware update it works perfect! Listening music with it is just wow, who would have thought! Crisp and clear! Too bad it doesn't come with more detailed instruction.

The app does not work on 4.3 onward. The SBH52 is now a 100 dollar dumb Bluetooth device UPDATE: Sooooo you have to have the smart connect app AS WELL to work. The description is vague at best SONY needs to reword the description stating that this is an add on to the smart connect app. i will now bump it up to three stars we will see if they fix this

I used sbh52 with my xperia m2 dual... Worked perfectly fine... All functions were working... Even this software was opening up fine... Switched to oneplus one and installed this software... Though it shows the software is installed, it does not show in the apps menu... Please fix this issue.. This actually is a junk if Sony phone isn't there.. Hope there is a solution fast..

For the amount of money this costs it's a bit shocking in this day and age we have to put up with buggy software. Concept is great and the hw is also great but it is executed badly. When you listen to a song then answer a call you cannot have access back to your song's, you have to disconnect then connect again.....Really.....But when it works it's pretty good and is a good companion for the ultra which in itself has more bugs than starship trooper.

While the description mentions Sony's Smart Connect App it's not entirely clear that it's required to use this app extension. Once I figured that out, it works like a champ. I like the added functionality available via the other app extensions. I now really dig my new Bluetooth headset & the software Sony made for it.

I've connected this to my Xperia Z&Z3+ and it gives great control of the media on the device (Music, Audible & video players), plus can read texts which is SUPERB when you're driving, but why is it missing voice control? The display shows information of what's happening on the phone, meaning I can leave the phone in my pocket when a call comes in. Overall, this app improves the usability of the headset, although it does need additional functionality for voice control - I'd like to add a little suggestion for this, when the SBH52 isn't connected, get rid of the Notification... I use the SBH at work & another set of bluetooth headphones when travelling, but the phone always "complains" that the headset isn't connected!

It was designed for Z Ultra and it does not connect with Z ultra itself properly it keeps disconnecting very often and it is extremely irritating, an update is required immediately. OMG It is becoming worst day by day. I never ever expected that Sony would make such a worst gadget. I recently got an update but still no change it is wosre.

Worst £55 I have ever spent. Just doesn't work properly with Z Ultra. Says it is connected when it isn't, have to restart Bluetooth and SBH device. Also stops WiFi from scanning networks, have to restart Bluetooth for that too. Supposed to provide convenience but only serves to annoy. Please update device firmware and this app. No update since Jan is very poor.

EDIT: Sony your software sucks!............. read all these reviews! - My Sony Z1s would disconnect intermittently during call or music. It is not the Bluetooth stack, it is this program. I am now using a LG G3 and got the same results with program. I uninstalled the program and paired directly, still disconnects but not as often. Sony really needs to improve their software to the level of their products!

Even though it is sold as a perfect accessory for the Z series of Sony phones and Tablets.... It drops bluetooth connections, and disconnects the wifi, so you have a choice, connected to your device and unable to get notifications or disconnected and unable to get notification. Fortunately this isn't limited to the Sbh52.. It is the same for the Smartwatch 2! So until Sony fix the issue with thr ltest update to 4.3, don't purchase!

Accidentally turned on this setting and now cannot turn it off. Can't announce phone number properly. Finally it hangs frequently and got to reboot to get it working or suffer miss calls plus notifications. Also sbh always disconnect itself from Z ultra and the only way to reconnect is to restart sbh.

The SBH52 handset keeps losing its connectivity with my Sony Xperia S phone. The app shows that SBH52 is connected but none of the apps are accessible from SBH52 and it needs to be restarted to fix the issue. Incoming calls get routed to mobile earpiece even though SBH52 is connected and it doesnt also switch. Tried reinstalling SBH52 firmware but it doesnt last for more than 2-3days. Didn't expect such POOR performance from Sony!!!

Rings even on vibrate! Good when it worked. Now not even connect. It rings even if my phone is on silent - this is big fail SONY! I am also amissing where is my phone app? It is even on your older MW1 device. Nevertheless it's a great gadget!

Excellent product but it should have a little more battery juice. I think the ring tone is annoying expecting a change during next update. I have also noticed when calling screen wil turned on till the end. So will loose battery juice in the hand set..

I am using sbh52 with lenova tablet 2. 1. It connects and dis connect automatically and again I need to restart sbh52. 2.Sometimes tablet is not showing in sbh 3. I am unable to make call from sbh. 4. Need version upgrade. Please fix as soon as possible.

Nice gadget! However it has an annoying bug. Shows connected on bt device but in reality is disconnected or vice veraa. Need to restart bt on sbh52 to fix. More features could be added like global notification readout

Should say 'Official Sony app for SBH52 THAT ONLY RUNS ON SONY PHONES OR TABLETS'. Works just fine on my Sony Z3, does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on my Google Nexus 2013 LTE. WTF, Sony? However, the SBH52 works fine with the tablet without this crapware.

SBH52 keeps disconnecting when out and about. Even keeping the phone close, still happens. This is with a note 3 where all updates are applied on a regular basis. Given as a present so makes it worse. Gone back to my old MW600 Sony Ericsson. Very rare it disconnects. Please fix. UPDATE 04/10/15 Since January update for the sbh 52 and phone update, now works very well. I use it a lot with no problems.

1st. Ear plugs not comfortable. 2nd. On talking directly through device gets ear trouble. And. 3rd. When we put our phone on silent mode during call ringing this SBH52 device still keep ringing and could not put on silent mode.

Worst device. It stops working in a month and had very poor performance. Sony does not giving warranty on his product if it is purchased online in india :(. Do not waste money on this device.

Im facing problem in connecting its randomly disconnecting..and I can't use the multi function.. when I play my music I can't used the sbh 52 the display appears is only the bluethooth name. Please help us about the problems we encounter in sbh 52.

This device is unusable because of frequent disconnects. Would have given 5 stars if it was stable, as it is very good in other ways. When it disconnects (and says it is connected but does not work), it sometimes connects again if I unplug the minijack and then insert it again, so this is clearly related to the SBH52 and not the phone. Using Galaxy Note 3 with Android 5. The Sony MW600 BT headset works perfectly in the same scenario. SONY: Please fix the stability issue.

It's not support android 5.0 anymore, can't heard sound from whatsapp wechat, need power off n on only works!! Common pls fix it

Now that your software became more stable, my sbh52 started to lose its mind and has become useless. To warranty I guess. You really know how to completely screw things up sometimes. Like that some previous gen liveview - what an amazing blunder that bluetooth stability was. How can you mess up something so simple compared to the phones that you are making?

This product is good but not good enough. The HD Voice is not actually good and the battery life is not long lasting as Sony mentioned. Despite only listening to music, the bettery is drained quickly. A big problem now is no noise cancellation. When I use it outdoors for the phone calls, it's interrupted by surrounded noise. No one can hear me. Don't know why this good product doesn't have this important feature. Hope Sony will do the best on noise cancellation as a major updating for this device very soon.

I bought this coz I was thinking to rely on company like Sony, I am using this Bluetooth with Samsung Note Edge, but this device disconnect every 5 minutes, this so annoying I m thinking to return..it shows connected on phone but on call it doesn't work

The controls issue has been fixed and my Z3 Compact now works great with my SBH52.

It's a very useful device.bud software had problems in Android 5.it's disconnected from phone frequently and connect again.even in call during.it's need a good software update to solve the problems.

Issues: 1. Sometimes, SBH52 is loosing connection with Sony Z Ultra when I receive an SMS. I'm using Hangouts as default SMS app. 2. If the loudspeaker is selected while calling a person, when the called person picks up the call, SBH52 changes calling mode from loudspeaker to headphones. Its annoying because I have to push once again the Back button to change mode to loudspeaker. 3. Sometimes I hear jerky (dashed) voice while my Z Ultra is in my hand or in close range. READ THE DESCRIPTION ABOVE CAREFULLY. If you're not using a Sony mobile, and for the app to work properly, you'll need to install Sony Smart Connect app too. This app itself does not have an interface directly from the app drawer. After installing the Smart Connect app, connect your SBH52/SBH50 and then the notification will appear. Enjoy! (The device does have some problems with non-Sony devices, like frequent disconnections. I know this because I use my 'SBH52' with a Sony Z2 and Samsung S3)

It has some problems with Sony Android 5.1.1. After disconnect the device (SBH52) cannot reconnect and needs to a factory reset. Sometimes speakers has no sound.

Hi there, the application is not getting auto start when I turn on bluetooth..my mobile model vivo V1. Kindly update and release for latest android os.. thanks in advance

This device is very stylish but the software is terrible . Device frequently dosconnected and somtimes reconnected with both note3 and note 4 the only way i found to be stable working is just connect with bluetooth without installing smartconnect and device driver on this state work fine but the features like callerID , sms and ... not working Sony please update your software for kitkat and lolipop asap

It automatically disconnect and sometimes8 reconnects itself otherwise u got restart the app or the Bluetooth headset. App hangs in between like it shows connected in Bluetooth headset but it is not for which again restart the Bluetooth device. I THINK IT IS TIME TO UPDATE and FIX THESE Bugs. Last update was on Jan 2014.
