This is the official Sony application for Smart Imaging Stand IPT-DS10M. It is a dedicated app which contains a smartphone-to-imaging stand connectivity component and a smile catcher component. With this app, your smartphone, will be able to control Smart Imaging Stand so that it rotates and tilts, follows faces, catches smiles and takes the pictures. Intelligent imaging.
To use this app, you will need to install Smart Connect from Sony, a popular device-to-device connectivity app. When you have installed Smart Imaging Stand app, it will not appear on your home screen. Instead, it will be integrated into Smart Connect.
Smart Imaging Stand application is optimized for Sony Xperia™ smartphones running Android 4.0 or later. Functionality may not be optimal when using Smart Imaging Stand with other smartphones.

Does not work with my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. As others have said it does not recognise faces it just keeps moving the camera looking. No reticule appears ever. Have systematically gone through all settings. Sony are effectively selling a broken product for £120!

Needs update and proper support from developer. The Smile Catcher application that came with this Smart Imaging Stand app no longer functions as intended. NFC and bluetooth pairing allows Z5 compact to connect with the Smart Imaging Stand, but it will rotate aimlessly without tracking or detecting faces. Test conditions optimal for photo taking, smile detection, and gesture options enabled, however no joy! The developers need to support and develop more apps in house, eg 360 or remote control of stand.

I am using the application altogether with the stand on my Xperia Z5 Dual. The application is not detecting the faces at all while the normal camera is detecting it easily. While the phone is mounted over the imaging stand, it keeps rotating and tilting to try to find a face to detect.

Tried camera but cannot find it you should have this in apps n when opened connects with camera. I sure cannot find it or use it either shame. If I'm not told where n how it's used I will remove it. I opened smart connect and nothing there about this app. Not even listed

So many people saying it doesn't show up on there device. This app is an extension to Sony Smart Connect. It even says in the description that this is required and it won't show up in the apps menu. Once both are installed launch Smart Connect and this app will be listed under the applications section

You MUST HAVE the sony IPT-DS10M smart stand; you MUST HAVE Sony Xperia Smart Connect app installed in order for this application to work. You MUST HAVE Android 4.0 or later OS. If you read the instructions, it just might make sense to you. Also, most importantly, you MUST HAVE a later Sony Xperia Phone as this is a Sony specific device application! The app connects to the stand and controls it for smart picture taking without you touching it. Another great innovation by Sony!
