Not sure why Sony gave up on this app. Does not work with android 7. The app only shows HTML script when you open it. Is this how Sony treats it's customers? Why should I even buy any of their products if an app they create will not be updated a short time after rendering the app and the product useless. You might want to get your ship together before you lose ALL of your customers.

Preset station buttons for each radio station saved. Larger radio text saying whats playing, there is loads on room on the screen not being used. Keyboard would be useful for when i pull over to enter a satnav destination. At the moment i have to disconect the app, program sat nav, reconnect app, start music again. Please trust me not a text and drive!

If you purchased a Sony head unit and want to use this app, don't waste your time....it hasn't been supported or updated by Sony in years and is a waste of time... When it did work, it was intrusive and poorly implemented. I updated my Xperia XA and now this app will not load correctly (displays HTML code)... Get your act together, Sony, so I can integrate my Sony phone with my Sony car stereo using the Sony app!

by X####:

Drops audio connection at times, not the phone happens with multiples devices, the head unit color synch hangs or freezes and won't change until you reset it. App won't let you use your own background? And gives you 3 generic ones to pick from. This app needs improvement please. Atleast custom backgrounds? I mean cool concept just get someone on the job that cares.

Doesnt work at all! Just HTML script once opened the app. This app is the reason I bought a Sony headunit and it doenst even work. Absolutely shocking from Sony to just forget about this app and not bother to update it since 2014! Disgusting

It's a good app but has a few issues. The most annoying one is that it opens the app on your phone every time it connects, and there's no way to stop this from happening. A little annoying.

Please make it where it there is an option to stop the music from muting when recieving a call so you csn manually lower the volume before answering. Pays havoc on car amps when on full blast. Dont wana blow anything. Also dial pad on dial screen is missing

Especially radio operation is not easy. While we are using smartphone screen, application does not allow you to operate the device easily. You have to swipe in order to seek for radio station but instead of swiping there can be easy seek+ or seek- buttons. Also device settings should be achieved by the app. Otherwise there is no meaning to use touchscreen of smartphone. Only utilizing source management? More can be done. Application should be more user friendly.

The app is great and linked perfectly to my car stereo until my phones operating system upgraded to Android Lollipop. My phone now links to the stereo but none of the stereo apps appear on my screen. An urgent update is required on the app, I gather this has been a problem for the last 2 months and no fix yet.....come on Sony sort it out!!

Love it when it works. It connects to my Xperia Z2 fine. But couple of snags: 1. Even when accessing google maps through the app , voice directions are not thrown over the car stereo. Interestingly, when I start using Spotify, also through the app, it seems to realise there is a car stereo, and the google maps voice directions are suddenly transmitted over the car speakers. 2. If a call comes in, while Spotify is playing through phone and app, and I take the call using the MEX car stereo functions, spotify stops "throwing" after the call ends, requiring a full phone restart to sort out.

Works well, I can easily stream podcasts and Spotify from my phone to my car stereo. Only bad side is the USB function. It works but could really do with some way of visualising folders on your phone, so that it is easier to locate the album you want. At the moment all you can do is scroll through them alphabetically which can take an age

Ripped the jvc double din dvd player out of my car, got the sony N1BT or what ever it is, installed this app on ma S5 running Alliance V1.91 rom and all I can say is.........F*CK YEAH!!!! best combo ever, all though I think the RDS could be better, unless it's the stations i'm tuned to, doesn't display song title being played.

Hey Sony, what IS the point in using App Remote for YOUR radio's, when you block it's use? You block casting my cell phones app to the screen wirelessly! I thought that was the purpose for it. Why do I need this app when I STILL have to use my phones screen instead of the HU touch screen? If I open Google maps on my HU, why the hell would I want it to open on my phone??? Sony please do not Mirrorcast me, because I would have to buy a new phone for that feature to work!!!

App worked fine on Samsung Galaxy S5. Upgraded to S6 and now doesn't work i.e it plays music via Bluetooth but app screen gets as far as telling me what it's capable of and does not take me to the tuner control etc. No resolve apparent on the internet. 2 stars for at least playing music from device

U70%
by U####:

Disconnecting and reconnecting has solved the issue of remote option disconnecting in the Bluetooth settings. Something must really be done though about this as it is still a annoyance to have to do day in and day out. There is also the issue of phone overheating when using most navigation apps like Waze or Goggle Maps while also playing a music app like Pandora. This also brings up the issue that we are unable to use the radio while using a navigation app. Work still needs to be do.

This app totally eliminates access to your keyboard while it is active. It seems from all the complaints about the same thing Sony hasn't gotten the message. Maybe we should lobby North Korea to hack this app and fix it for us.

Sort this app Sony, you're fooling alot of people into getting sony head units for their vehicles thinking this app is all singing all dancing when it comes to controlling your unit with this app in reality it's tone deaf and has two left feet!! Please you have the technology to make this soooooo much better, look into it now and update this app you're letting people down.

No support for Android 5.0 lollipop. How is one supposed to use cradle receiver completely. Hope the developers are working towards solution. Others updated their apps before android updated itself. Edit: still no improvement. What's the point of buying sony system of app is almost useless.

We uninstalled this battery killer. We had this on a Samsung cell, Acer, Samsung Tab and Dell. All of them had short battery time. It constantly searches for the radio even away from the car and trucks. The music apps work great without this app. If this had a way to exit the program it be 4 stars. If it would stop when a radio was shut down it would be 5... I can't afford dead batteries.

Bought the n1bt, app worked twice for voice recognition. Now won't work at all, and only shows apps I've assigned for voice recognition. No tuner, cd,read message etc is displayed. Bought as a brilliant idea, but wont work with a Sony z3 whats the point!!

U70%
by U####:

I'm uninstalling this app. It has decent features but when it connects to the stereo it takes over the phone and the radio. So when you want to switch the source you can't use the radio if the app is running. It also takes away the ability to type anywhere in the phone when connected to the radio.

This app is either severely broken or unfinished. Sometimes you can adjust the equalizer other times its gone. Keyboard is non existent. App doesn't shutdown when you close or quit. You have to use a task killer. Can't remove apps or unused options. No presets for tuner. It goes on and on. Just use the remote.

Is Sony abandoning this? Android 5 and 6 have been out for a while but this is only good through 4. BT functions do work on my Android 5 phone but not USB. I've had trouble with getting the app to use the radio microphone. When pressing the voice button I see the microphone icon appear momentarily but it almost immediately stops and displays a message about unrecognized command. This is intermittent-sometimes it does work.

U70%

Tuner should be a full fledged tuner app. In fact, the radio's entire menu structure should be exposed here. And RDS should be decoded by default on everything. Finally, a tie in to Soundhound or another service would have been sweet.

This app never keeps it's connection to my Sony head unit. If it worked well this app would be useful but I really can't be bothered unpairing and pairing each time I get in the car. Shame

U70%

Pathetic. Has numerous problems and annoyances, including some that affect safety when driving. Sony needs to update this for their customers. Poor app support is a good reason to switch brands.

When I get into my vehicle it doesn't automatically synchronized to my phone or stereo. Is there a way it be updated? Also it's not letting me do anything else. The setting to send and have text doesn't work. Please upgrade immediately!!!

Upgrade this app to Lollypop compatibility please. It's just played havoc with my new Sony WX-GT90BT head unit whilst using the app from Sony Xperia Z2 on Lollipop 5.1. I now have no sound from the deck & have yet to figure out how to rectify. Advice?

I thought this was buggy with the iPhone so I switched to a Sony Android and it is even worse! Major issue of not being able to automatically connect once paired. So many other problems - hard to list them all. AND I am using a Sony headunit with a Sony phone. You would think connectivity is easier and less bugs with the same brand, but it is quite the opposite in this case. Very disappointing. And no updates to the app - abandoned by Sony. Like it has been said before - great idea, bad implementation.

Only bought the head unit because I thought the app was a good idea but turns out the app is seriously half assed and has been neglected by Sony. Very poor effort SONY, I WANT MY MONEY BACK SO I CAN BUY FROM A BRAND THAT SUPPORTS ITS CUSTOMERS. FEELING VERY LET DOWN AND RIPPED OFF!!!!

K70%
by K####:

App could work well unfortunatly it's far too unreliable functions only work about 50 percent of the time. That makes it pretty useless for real life use especially whike driving woukd be dangerous to use. Seriously considering going back to oem head unit and there's no way to have the app close automatically when I leave the car so again another thing that makes it a pain in the back side having to keep closing it when I next use the phone after being in the car

Bought a car stereo on the basis of having this app but smart connect crashes every time it tries to connect. I don't get any of the screens shown to interact with the stereo, I would love to be able to select music off the USB and change volume but it does not work. Please fix this app. 4 months still broken.

The app was great when it was working. It did a lot of things other car receivers don't allow you to do. But now I can't get the app to work. Even though I'm paired and connected to my xb1bt car stereo, the app acts like I'm not. None of the things likes tuner or CD will come up and I can't do anything with the eq. It acts like I'm not connected at all. I really need help on this. I have researched but every time I get nothing. Please help.

K70%

It needs to be updated. The UI is terrible. The connectivity isn't that great either. To tell the truth, I just use my Android lolipop home screen instead of the app remote app in my car (unless I want to use the radio). Still not sure how to access my saved radio stations when on the app. This app and system works but I expect more from a Sony head unit connected to a Sony phone. Come on Sony, update this app.

I70%

It would be better if it could be stopped from top left by a swipe, it is really heavy on the battery usage, and annoying that I have to go into settings to stop it running.

K70%
by K####:

NOTE: the app "worked" for the first day after I installed it, every time after that it would start up upon sync of my phone (Xperia Z3) to my radio (Sony XSPN1BT NFC) but none of the actual radio functions show up on it with the net result that I now have an unusable (and new!) car radio unless I use the music player from the phone or the remote control to change the source. The radio I have XSPN1BT NFC depends on a smartphone to control it... See my original review below. I keep the three stars rating but I do hope the developers find a way to improve the app or to at least make it work... This is supposed to be the main interface between your phone and radio. As such it fails in many ways. Navigation is unpractical, awkward at best. Requires a third party music player to stream music from the phone. Voice commands are impossible to use efficiently. It's a bit like having your drunk friend operate the radio while you guide him over the phone. Only advantage is that the microphone in the radio works well with ok Google commands.

G70%
by G####:

The features of this application sound great. Unfortunately the application spends most of its time being unresponsive and occasionally crashes. A notable deficiency is the inability to select my stereo's bluetooth audio input mode. On user experience, I can only say how frustrating it is to only be able to see the "what this application does" screen.
