About Songwriter's Assistant

Song Assist is an app designed to help songwriters be creative and productive using their Android device. Writing lyrics can be the toughest part of songwriting. It takes a lot of thought and focus, and often significant random inspiration. The phone offers portability and immediate access the the songwriter's tool set, namely Song Assist, to be able to work anywhere, and also to capture those really great fleeting ideas that popup out of nowhere; the ones that can be easily lost if not captured right away.

Song Assist allows songwriters to use their phones or tablets to hone in on some key elements of lyric writing. One element is having an easy playback tool for playing scratch tracks, or even fully produced instrumental tracks from key points in the songs. The songwriter can set start and endpoints for where the song plays and repeats so that they don't have to concern themselves with the clumsy start and stop mechanisms in most media players. Song Assist also combines a text editor along with its built in media player on one screen so that the songwriter can rapidly play, pause and stop the music and type simultaneously, without having to switch between applications on the phone or tablet.

Has great potential. The buttons are not proportionate on any size screen except maybe a small phone screen in HD. Menu doesn't work. Big ugly share button in my writing area. The new buttons do not fit? Please make Main Menu as a single button! Put share button there as well. Oh well, just another flop. The idea is great the style and design are not well though out. I went from 5 to 1 star. What a shame...

This application is exactly what I needed to assist me with the many lyric projects I am juggling. It was great before, but with the recent additions of landscape orientation and start/repeat reset I am really good to go! (Now all I have to worry about is getting one of my songs on someone's platinum album *smile*)

Shoot you are professional song writer's and this is the best you can come up with.. I can get the same results using an ipod and a android note pad. No thesaurus no rhyming dictionary nothing. Cant even load the music. The only reason you got two star s is you had enough initiative to put start an stop point for you mp3. Pity I can't load them . 2.22. Wasted. I would pay 100 For a descent app

This is a really good app. I actually was sold by watching the video more then the description. As someone who developed this for ease of use when not being attached to your daw, I do have a few recommendations. 1) be able to see the time length when you load in a file. It would help with positioning the start/repeat markers. 1b) if possible make it be by bars/measure format for easier looping points to be set. For people who actually know the bpm and structure of there songs.
