Sonalight Text by Voice

It speaks text messages, but only lowers the volume if something else is playing, rather than pausing it. Voice commands when replying do not work at all. It just keeps saying the data connection failed.

Keep getting error data connection problem. No mattet what you do the app wont even recognize the word cancel. If all you care about is hearing text a loud. Then that works other than that its useless.

This doesn't work at all. I can't even receive a message by saying yes when promoted. It also does not work over Bluetooth car connection.

I installed this on my S5. When text comes in it asks if u want it read. I say yes every time, and every time it errors out, claiming data connection, and shuts down. Disappointed. Uninstalling. And i AM connected to wifi, so it IS connected.

However I get nothing but data connection error when asked to respond. Then you have to listen to the request 3 times without being able to respond

Keep getting data connection error. S Voice works SO much better and can be used with several apps! Don't waste any more time on this app

Had this in 2012 and it worked amazingly.... Now I downloaded it again and it doesn't work at all... All I get is data connection failed and it won't read my texts or let me respond

Won't recognize anything I say. Third app so far promising great performance and still can't find one that actually works

I am a quadriplegic and I need this app for communication with my kids and family members. This app used to be the best thing on the market I even paid 9.99$ for the full version and it didn't work! Can I get a refund or fix it!!

After reading about it on a blog posts I eagerly installed it. However, current version blows. Apparently it worked flawlessly before?

Only thing it appears to understand is "text by voice". After that names and other commands just result in the response "error, try again". Now going to delete it.

When I try to use it it asks .e who I want to text. I try several times to text people and it gives errors.

this program used to work until this recent update when you ask it to call or send a text message to someone it says error try again .you said there was a hotfix I redownloaded it and still the same thing

I'm sorry to say this app does not work at all. It just says "Error Data connecion problem." over and over. Developer, if you fix this, I will come back and give this more stars, but for now, it's hopelessly broken.

Will not initiate texts. Always says, "Error: Data connection problem" even though I'm on Wi-Fi, using an HTC One M8. None of the three FAQ solutions applied.

Worked back in early 2014. After that I get non stop data errors no matter if I'm connected wifi or lte with full strength. This app should be pulled.

Thought this would work for me but regret to say it’s absolutely useless - will not accept commands such as “Text by voice” (very basic) or such words as “Yes” “No”. Hope you have better luck than me.

error try again is all i got on the nexus 5. dont waste your time. their ad sounds great, but the software does nothing

I just installed this and all it says is I have a "data connection error". It doesn't recognize anything I say. It won't even respond to "Cancel". This app is a total waste of time.

Don't bother downloading until this app is fixed. If the voice comments worked I'd give 5 stars.

What could have been an amazing application for the blind is worthless as it wont work with accessibility and now noonger connects to google voice or data.

As numerous people have mentioned, this app was fantastic. It easily ranked as the best hands-free app I had ever used on my Nexus 4... until updating it. Now, all I receive are "Error: Data connection problem" messages over and over. The app even fails to recognise the highly ambiguous term "cancel". I'm now so emotionally distraught about Sonalight letting us down that I've been shedding a tear every time the app's sweet voice utters "Error. Try again". I'm uninstalling right now.. before I drown.

was the best and worked great now it stinks and only create problems, not worth downloading it is only problems!

I have the Galaxy Note 4 and it didn't work one time no matter what I did. Uninstalled! !

Etverytime I try to reply to a message it does react to the command. Deleting junk app such a same

I have clear diction, Google and Siri understand me perfectly every time, but this thing just gives me a data connection error for everything I say, even "yes" and "no." Great idea if it would just let me use my voice. It did notice when I got a text, but if it won't use what I say, it's a useless app.

Like others, for some reason it no longer responds to me. Disappointing :/

This used to be the best hands free app out there. Now it just takes up space like a virtual paperweight. Obviously there is no one at the helm anymore. Very sad because there are none out there that are truly hands free.

LOL...everything you read is true. I had such high hopes for this app that hasn't worked after a good 30 minutes of fiddling around! First off...it asks "who would you like to text" 100% of the time I got an error. I even went off wifi and it has been at least "thinking" for at least ten minutes before I just cancelled. Apparently the developer has given up. No responses to the complaints. I would recommend Google remove it from the Market until it is fixed. No point in having a bad app that doesn't work now is there.

Occasionally initiates in error, but, all things considered, good for safety on the road

I keep getting "error try again" when I say my contact's name. The screen says I have a data connection error but data works fine in other apps. This used to work on the same phone a year ago. Sorry to give you guys a poor rating, but it's not working anymore. When it's fixed I'll give you a great rating :-)

I downloaded the app today (Aug 30th, 2014) and opened the app. It said I could say TEXT BY VOICE or tap on the screen to send a text. So I did. It then asked who I would like to text. So I said a name, but it said ERROR. Ok, maybe another name? I asked to send a text to DAD, but again I got an ERROR. I went through my list of contacts and every one of them got an ERROR. What was the point of that? Deleting from my phone immediately.

Always get data connection error and it does not understand my voice commands.

Was great, but apparently abandoned. Whatever data scheme this used, must not work anymore, and the dev won't fix it. Something else will take it's place eventually.

Used to be an excellent app...worked great gave it 5 stars...then one day stopped working just get data connection error...please fix and will reinstall and rate again

Well the app is nice in the sense that it turns itself on as soon as I connect it to my car's Bluetooth audio. It'd be even nicer if it recognized ANYTHING I said when asking me who I'd like to text. Not uncommon names, too, like John. It just says there's an error and asks me to try again. Continually.

An article I read said this was the best... I can't get it to work at all. "Error: data connection problem". Uninstalling in 5 4 3 2 1...
