GPS Point to Point Distance

GeoDst calculates the geographic distance, elevation and initial bearing between two GPS positions. Geographical distance is the distance measured along the surface of the earth. This app does NOT calculate the distance travelled (odometer) - just the shortest path from A to B. The measurement can be shared to other apps like notepad, email, Twitter etc.

How to use the app:
- Make sure you have GPS enabled in your device - It won't work without it!
- Start the app and wait for the GPS receiver to obtain a fix on your current position
- The round orange locator will appear as soon as there is a GPS fix - and disappear when its lost
- Use the "pin" buttons to start and stop measuring distances
- Use the "pause/play" button to freeze/resume updating your current position
- You can zoom and pan the display with pinch and drag motions
- Tap the display once to reset the panning, twice to reset the zoom as well

Tips and hints:
- It may take several minutes for the GPS receiver to get a reliable fix; the initial fix may be highly inaccurate
- GPS is not particularly well suited for small distances; the accuracy is a few meters at best, so don't blame the app :)
- Long distances: You can lock the screen, or even use other apps, and then switch back to GeoDst at the destination - as long as you don't leave GeoDst with the BACK button!
