About Timbang
Timbang is an automation tool that records weights from First Philippine Scale's FI03 indicator. The app connects to the indicator device using either an RS232 to USB connection (device supporting USB Host API required), or bluetooth (cables, and dongles sold separately). Once connected, when the "Print" button is pressed, the indicated weight is recorded by the app in a CSV file stored in the Android device's internal memory. This CSV file can then be sent for inventory, or payment processing. The file's naming convention is the current date, and time appended by the supplier name. yyyymmdd_hhmmss_.csv. The file contents comprise of:
item 0 name,weight
item 1 name,weight
item 2 name,weight
...
Other features of Timbang:
1. Supplier Selection. Users may select the supplier name from where the items come from.
2. Item Selection. Users may select what item is being weighed. Both supplier, and item list can be modified. There is also a bulk upload feature where the app uses a CSV file to populate the internal supplier, and item lists.
3. Tare Weights. Weights are usually positive, but there are times when extraneous items are included in the items (i.e. container, spool, etc.). The weight of these extraneous items can be deducted.
4. Flexible connection method. Users may either go wired, or wireless.
The app was developed for use in a plastic recycling plant, but can be used in other applications such as in farms, fishing, laundry, and meat processing.
