My only downfall with the app is that you can not use it off line. Other than that, this is a wonderful app and does everything a busy task oriented person needs. It works and looks great on my nook hd as well. You can make different folders and inserts and designs to different colors and fonts. A lot of cool feaures and fun to use! I stated in my first review above that this app did not work off line: My appologies- This app DOES WORK off line! I still have it installed on my nook hd and conftinue to use it.

I am disappointed by this app because the developer claims it works offline, while, in fact, it doesn't. He/she doesn't respond to emails and appears not to be bothered once you buy the app. Seeing that the last update is probably 2013, it appears to be an abandoned project. DON'T BUY IT!

I paid for this app and it still locks me out whenever my wifi-only tablet is offline. I need this to take notes so when it fails to work just one time, that's too much. I am pursuing other options. As far as note taking, it was somewhat buggy and low in features anyway. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

It's almost everything I wanted in a note taking app. With improvements it could have been one of my most used apps. Hasn't been updated in months and its still not up to par for daily use. Its a Real shame.

I have also been using this app since early trial release, the price of it is very reasonable and I can see this app developing into one of the best note taking apps for android. Every update so far is enhancing the experience and if the developer continues to support the app, I can see it clearly beating similar software on this and other platforms. Wish list : PDF support, annotating from screen/camera shots. Sticky notes, highlighting, syncing with evernote, right to left writing support for Arabic.

Best handwriting app on android hands down. Perfect response time, like paper Would like to be able to add/remove the paper backgrounds i.e add some forms I use and delete the crappy looking binder style images

I like the interface. Just hate that it needs to check my license via data connection every day. I dont leave my data on. It makes 2 or 3 more steps just to use it. 5 stars if this is fixed!

C70%
by C####:

The fact that this developer is so paranoid that he has to check my license everyday renders this app useless. Until Cheese gets this fixed, and I do mean fixed as in bug, I would not recommend it to ANYONE. All it takes is one time for you to have to retrieve an important note without an internet connection and you'll wish you'd never heard of Cheese or his Tabnotes.

Love it, easy to use. Enjoy using notebbok/paper types. Does what it promises. Used fine with htc flyer/stylus and iconia tab a500. Suggestion: include in the current the option to jump to next/específic page on notebook

Not the most intuitive writing app I've used, but gets the job done. Would prefer a setting to move the Handwriting Panel to the top of the page for us lefties.

I've tried all the note taking applications on android (PenSupremacy, ColorNote, Writepad, Handright, Lecture notes, Antipaper, etc) and this one has real potential. It has export to PDF, multiple paper templates, easy zoom to see the whole page, zoomed area to write in that auto moves with your writing, and much more. The issue I have is lack of ongoing support and innovation. I had been using this app in a business environment but recently switched to lecture notes since it is actively updated.

Already one of my most used apps. Love the ability for multiple notebooks. Look forward to improving data exchange (PDF of single page or entire notebook, maybe Evernote .. ), and maybe a text typing input option. Great job developer.

This app does everything I was looking for. Notebooks with different covers and page types inside. Easy to pick the right notebook page since they fan out in a thumbnail view. Exports as PDF and keeps all the pages together in a single file. The only problem is... the files are WAY to big and my tablet lags out bad after creating a few notebooks. It becomes entirely unusable until I wipe all my saved pages out. Also, you can only email the PDFs which is impossible because a 5 page book was over 5MB without any pictures, just hand writing. I am guessing that is a clue as to why the app bogs down so bad. This app shows promise, just needs tuning. Seems like it would be easy enough to add dropbox or whatever else as save locations. (Note - You can run the 'email PDF' but not actually email it. It will save the file in the TabNotes folder so you can go back and then move it to dropbox or where ever else you like.)

I use my tablet to take notes for school, this is the best one I've tried yet. I only have a couple problems with tabnotes and they all lead back to the first, NO support. You are supposed to be able to export your whole notebook as a pdf, this worked when my notebook was only a few pages but when I tried again with 33 pages it crashes, this when taking notes for school boarders on a show stopper. Can't remember if there is supposed to be palm rejection, but you better get used to writing with out your hand touching the tablet at all. Last annoyance, if I forget to lock my screen so it can't rotate, new pages are created when it does rotate. All in all I'll keep using it cause like I said so far even with the bugs it's the best I've found. Almost forgot reviewing notes is a pain, because no quick/easy way to move between pages, and since I can't export to PDF.... Toshiba Thrive

This is the best handwriting app on the market right now. With a little more adjustments it will be perfect. Pinch zoom is great - allows adjustment with one hand use. Resolution is great. I have been using this app for taking notes in a numerical analysis class with lots of complex notation. Would like to see these features added: Visible eraser - sometimes at high zoom levels the eraser is wiping out a lot more than desired. Maybe making the eraser size adjust with the zoom level would help. Read only mode for paging through notes. Insert/reorder pages in a notebook. Unfortunately the dev on this app is non-responsive. A bit more attention is needed. Until then, 3*

Just got this app up and running and i have to say this app is amazing. Currently testing it by taking notes in class and for my tutoring comp. This app is great, its fast and easy to use. Un like other apps like this the keys are easily layed out. Just like everyone else the only thing that i could think to add would be a save to PDF for easy print. This is soon gonna become the next bust have tablet app.

Still requires license check and it looks like the developer is out of business because his website and email no longer works so you can forget about getting ANY kind of support from this guy. Talk about taking the money and running. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APPLICATION!

I am always buying blank books for journaling, notes, to do lists, bedside idea catchers etc. This app is great for writing thoughts! Improvements? More papers - music stave paper without clef nor key signature, more colored pencils - e.g. white chalk.

My experience may have more to do with the tablet than the app, since Android Market is only available for the Coby MID1126 (Android 2.3) through a hack. The app crashes unexpectedly. My goal was to hand-write lecture notes for classes I am teaching, but just when I was getting used to the interface and writing a "real" lecture, the app crashed, a page was lost, and the notebook would not open w/o crashing the app. Would also like better background images and greater control of pen color (white!).

Good ideas but not fully implemented or tested. Handwriting box is buggy and since it cannot be resized, the pages end up being much to small for usefull note taking. Graphic on pages themselves is ugly and could be improved. I would be willing to pay well for a notebook replacing app adequate for college level math and science class's but cannot seem to find one.

This app has the best stylus sensitivity that I've found for the ASUS FT 300 Tablet. It's everything I need for free-hand digital note-taking. Has a great selection of different paper designs, and notebook covers, but what sold me was the zoom-in and out feature and how well it actually wrote. I found other apps with better interfaces, but none compared to the actual functionality of this app. If you have an ASUS FT 300, give this app a try, you won't be disappointed.

Please take a look at the beta app called makenotes. It's got a palm pad. If you add a palm pad to tabnotes, it will be truly the ultimate hand written note taking app for android.

They were clearly hearing in the right direction until about two months ago. App is not stable and is missing some intuitively obvious capability. I do not recommend at this time.

This app is the best app that I came across to take notes. It has all the right features and seemed to be going in the right direction. However, it hasn't been updated for a very long time and it doesn't seem as if it will be! Now it is a good idea, but very weak development!

Since purchasing my tablet I've looked at a lot of apps that allow you to take handwritten notes. By far this is the best. Allows for multipate pages per note, quickly process the handwritten content and adds it to the page and also allows for both handwriting and drawing so you can handwrite sections and then draw around/over. Something not found in other apps. What I would hope to see in the future ability to type sections of the note and export to multipage PDF.

This is the closest thing to what I've been looking for in a note taking app for android. I'm desperately looking for something similar to the iPads Noteability app and the like. Some things I'd love to see: being able to adjust the size of the box you write in, PDF IMPORT!!!!!!! (WHY DO BARELY ANY APPS HAVE THIS?), and other syncing with my device such as being able to record notes into notebooks and imbed pictures into them. It has the potential to be great, keep up the good work!

I loved this app ... until I tried to use it in class, where I wasn't allowed an active internet connection. What gives? Why is your note taking app unable to workunless I'm online?! Super inconvenient. Really frustrating. Too bad; it is a great app otherwise....

Smooth hanwriting but palm rejection needs work and pdf export not working at all Most android apps I tried for handwritten notes were pathetic. Even the renowned Papyrus produced jagged handwriting. TabNotes produces smooth hanwriting even when I write fast. It has a nice selection of pen sizes and colors. It needs better paper backgrounds though, like a standard stationery and the option for the user to import a pdf background. The palm rejection works 80% of time leaving stray marks when I try to scrol

Easy to use app, nice an simple but frequently stops working when selecting export as a pdf.

Cons: 1) Must be linked to an internet connection 2) Cannot organize notebooks into folders 3) Cannot pull pages from one notebook to copy/move to anther Pros: zoom, capture and move hand writing, single screen usage for zooming and writing. Sometimes people are in areas where internet connection is poor. Other times they like to turn off the internet on their devices to conserve power. Requiring an internet connection completely kills usability of this app. Reparation would result in a 3. Organized folders with page copying as above with internet issue fixed would put this at a 4.9.

This is a great app for school! But in some classes i need to be able to write on pictures. The other thing is sometimes it will write half of the word i write and i rewrite it and nothing happens.
