EyeDTV Pro for Android
Streaming TV from eyetv 3 never got it to run
With this app I am again able to watch live TV anywhere (after leaving iOS) I have an Internet connection (cellular too, but beware of data charges). This app sends an address to your mobile browser (use Chrome) after logging in with you EyeTV account. This syncs to your computer that's logged into the same EyeTV acct. via the free EyeTV software. I'm on Comcast and use the XFINITY app to remotely change the channels on my box at home.
Interface is simply awful. Doesnt do most of what it claims to do. I cannot find a way to watch recorded shows....there is no guide...no way to go from channel to.channel easily.
It works!
This app is designed poorly, but it does have possibilities. First off, why no Program Guide? One of the most useful features of Eye TV and it's totally missing in this app. Also, why is the channel selection page all scrunched up? Half the page real estate is not used. Spread the buttons around, make them and the 'wheel' a little bigger and easier to use. It looks very amateurishly designed now. It would be VERY easy to fix this, yet it's overlooked. None of the recordings work, which is a big disappointment, and yes, I prepared them for mobile access in EyeTV's preferences but they still didn't work. On the plus side it is easy to see what they are supposed to be. This is a very expensive app, and it should be more professionally designed and put together. It is only version 1, so hopefully soon some of its possibilities will start to shine. One can only hope.
Works on my Android under Jelly Bean. Not quite as easy to use as on my iPhone, but really quite good for Live TV, which is the main function I use on my iPhone and Android Smartphones. Not sure why others are having problems. I did have to scroll the gray channel wheel with my finger, as the keypad didn't really work. Took a few minutes to figure this out. After that, I am very satisfied with this app. Thanks, Alan P.S. - Just found one problem. While it works well over Wi-Fi, this app does not work over LTE or 4G. The Elgato EyeTV App for the iPhone works well over Wi-Fi, LTE, and 4G. Please add this cellular feature. Thank You. ********************************************************************** I have one request that would really help: Please simply enable for LTE (or cellular). My LTE is much faster than Wi-Fi, so I don't expect any streaming problems. I am not worried about streaming over 4G or 3G, just LTE. Please enable and provide an update. Thank You Very Much!
Works well. Kinda basic. I wish it worked over 4G and not just wifi.
Worked straight away on samsung note 2 and sony xperia z at the same time. Streaming over mac book pro wifi hotspot. Very very happy (connected eyetv dtt tv tuner stick to mabook) melbourne
Live tv and recordings work as expected on HTC one x... Can we get the guide working please?
Stinks!
I had to download Adobe Flash 11 to get this app to work. After that it worked fine.
you guys with problems have to turn on IPHONEMODE in eytv 3 preferences in order to function. May be its a bit hard for an Androidboy, but you have to do it. ;o) It works as promised, but not at all as polished as the original eyetv app on the iPhone or ipad ...... Lots of room to develop the app.
Works great, but I had to do a little work on my part. Running Samsung Nexus Jellybean, using Eyetv on my new Imac, opened up eyetv preference and checked iphone mode, then on my Samsung Nexus phone in Settings I had to enter my protected password again, it showed it was working, but this is what made it work for me, same thing as the other guy said, NO Network,so do that and it should work. I will try this out at work tomorrow, my ipad works on my local network but not at work, will update this later.
Force close. Never worked. HTC desire s.
Spent 16 minutes trying to get it to work, forgot about 15 min refund policy. Doesn't work.
Livetv works okay. Little buggy but easy to set up. Obviously the apple version is better but this is okay * recordings keep crashing.
No good
After downloading free version which only function is to change channels on EYE TV I decided to try Pro version. I can select and watch a channel however I cannot access recordings or access the schedules. Both result in an instant "connection timeout, please try again" error which despite many attempts does not result in calling up either. Luckily the ability to watch Live TV is enough to justify the price but as I easily meet the "minimum requirements" I cannot reasonably score higher. I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 running Andrioid 3.2 (Kernel version 2.6.36.3) and Eye TV Version 3.5.4 (6786).
I have a 2007 24" iMac running Lion, EyeTV 3.5.4, and an EyeTV 250 Plus. I have my Mac on the same Wi-Fi network as my Galaxy Nexus, but EyeDTV Pro couldn't find it. I made sure EyeTV was running and it worked fine with the EyeTV app on my old iPhone. Uninstalled until there's an update that gets this issue sorted out.
On my Captivate running the Apex ROM, it nicely displays a list of my recordings. When I select any recording, though, I immediately get a "connection timeout" error. When watching live TV, I get a "cannot play video" message. To be fair, I guess it could be my phone.
Works Amazingly Well! Works on my Android under Jelly Bean. Works decently well over wifi with the occasionally video tearing (which is not due to the signal) and "cannot play this video" error that requires restarting the stream. Interface isn't great either but the backbone is there for this to be a killer app. Pls update!! :)
