Airplayer for Android
- stream audio playback from your favourite iTunes (Windows/Mac) to your Android device (Phone/Tablet/Set-top box)
- show track info, cover artwork and playback progress currently playing in connected iTunes
- tune your phone/tablet's volume from the connected iTunes
- auto mute audio playback for incoming call
This application DOES NOT let you...
- remote control (play/pause/shuffle/etc.) music currently playing in connected iTunes
- browser library in your Android memory storage and stream music from Android to iTunes
Why another Airplay/Airtunes receiver?
- smaller memory footprint
- less cpu usage
- zero configuration, keep it as simple as possible
- user has full control of when and how service is running
The application provide a basic solution for home media integration between Android and Apple. It is perfectly used, for instance, when you have an Android compatible dock speaker, or an TV set-top box running Android, and let you share your media content over the air without coping them everywhere via cable. Note that this application only work under WiFi network.
This application is specifically designed for phone, however, install and use it on tablet is not restricted.
But that's really it. One thing I miss is the ability to rename the device as shown in the airplay devices list. It will show the device model regardless of the device name setting or anything else.
Worked consistently streaming system audio on Yosemite, but is completely unable to connect after Capitan update
Works well. The only thing Id recommend is allowing it to run in the background. That way you can use it with retune and only have one app open
I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS! IT ABSOLUTELY WORKS!!! Why only 4 stars?... For my needs, I'd like the option to Start the Server on app launch. This way, I can set Llama to start Airplayer when my old repurposed phone turns on. :-) This really is a great app, though!
To the person below, the people who rated the app low were probably looking for an app that allows them to play off of Apple Airplay speakers. The title of the app would lead an android user with old AR speakers to download this app and rate it low.
I use this in my room. i can stream from my 5s from my bed all the way across my room to my speakers. Great job guys!
Sometimes works
It messed up my macbook, made it laggy, and after u just turned it off my Mac says no output devices found.
Works perfectly on Samsung galaxy s5, and it's completely free
The app does not work. I am unable to get any audio to stream. Android 5.0
Discoverable but stream closes right away. Galaxy 3 and 1 (old devices).
So far works awesome on my note4. This app paired up with an iTunes remote app to control itunes does all I need!
It'll stream fine for a while but then randomly disconnects
I think this is a heavy application and seems to conflict with Retunes. As a results music stutters.
Sometimes works
This is probably the easiest app ever. Open the app, there is only one button which is shaped play, press it and bam. Your Android device is now an airplay audio receiver. Thank you for making this app free
Works very well in conjunction with an ITunes remote app to allow me to use my iTunes library on the Mac on my android phone.
Great app, works perfectly on both my Motorola XT926 and HP TouchPad. Requires no unnecessary permissions. A way to increase the stream buffer and a way to rename the device would be nice. You can't skip tracks, pause/resume, or adjust the stream volume in this app, but Retune can do this. It's still a really great app that does exactly what it's intended to do.
It works every time and I have never had any problems. Install if u are looking for a android airplay reciever
sadly, will not launch at all.. despite rebooting Android.
This app does one thing and it does it very well. Let's me stream music to my phone from iTunes. Don't need to restart iTunes, it just appears. Used on two phones without issues. Thanks for a great app!!
Allows me to cast to my Apple TV both Plex for Android and the YouTube app. It does not seem to cast the native video player on my smartphone or the VLC app. Everything plays well and smoothly at great video quality.
AIRPLAY is a PROPRIETARY and LOCKED DOWN trademark and streaming compression technology for use only on Apple and Apple-approved products. Having an app like this in the Play Store that promises compatibility is illegal trademark and copyright infringement along with being degrading to both the Apple iOS and Google Android names because this app is not always compatible even though the app description says it is and if Apple changes the RSA key to AirPlay, the app will have no chance of working at all.
I use this in my room. i can stream from my 5s from my bed all the way across my room to my speakers. Great job guys!
Rubbish doesn't work
Excellent app
Its not showing on my iTunes, somebody help me out here :l
Doesn't work..just crashes on start. HTC m8
Woks great with the Retune app.
Works perfectly, with album cover sent to your phone!
working great between my itunes 11.0.4 macbook 10.7.5 and samsung galaxy note i717 v4.0.4
How does this work?
Simple And Easy!!!
Sweet
Some cool ideas here, like the album art display. However, can't get audio to work with a Samsung Galaxy S i (i9000).
Didn't work
Pointless app.
This app does not work as it should and has connection issues
Worked when I tried it a few months ago. But now just shows up as an airplay device, but apple device fails to play to it.

It works great. No bloatware or unnecessary features... just receives an Airplay stream on the local network, which is exactly what I wanted. Took about 5 seconds to get set up. Thanks for your work developing this app for us to enjoy.
