Dictadroid Lite Voice Recorder for Android
I've tried all the audio-triggered recorders and this one seems to work perfectly straight off. Recording quality is excellent and triggering is intelligent; audio attack of new recordings is never truncated. Just to comment on some of the erroneous criticisms: it's clearly explained that you can go either into insert mode or overwrite mode if you hit record when in an existing clip, so just a case of RTFM. The Bluetooth comment is likewise confused. It's not listed as such a product and works just fine with the inbuilt device mic. One feature I'd like to see in the Pro version is the option to create discrete files with time-stamped names. Current behaviour works well for its intended purpose, but it would make a great field recorder (interviews, commentary etc) for uses where the time is important. With such a feature I'd grab the Pro version straight away.
No Bluetooth. No point.
The lock feature works nicely "within" the app, however in File Explorer it is not protected; I can access the files or delete them via Explorer. So the lock feature is .. well, ya know.
App, the paid one, works like a charm
Suffered really important data loss multiple times because of this all. It randomly decides to start overwriting my files part way through and the start of them disappear. What's the point of recording if you can't feel confident the data will survive??? Uninstalling.
Very useful, and simple, small works great
Great program to use if you need more functionality than the included voice recorder for android. I'm going to purchase the paid version so I can record over 5 minutes -however I'd like to suggest some improvements I've thought of while trying the lite version. The ability to adjust the voice activation level for voice activated recording would be great. An auto transcribe option (a big addition, but hey can suggest)
This is the app for dictation. Pause. Skip back & forth. Press & hold for repeated skip so easy to find your place. Insert or overwrite or append on existing recordings. Voice activated recording. Mic gain slider you can use during recording - better than other apps do. I liked it and bought full version. Note: AAC compression only on android 4 and above.
It not a modern dictation software program
This app is misnamed. Dictation means creating text from the words i speak. I misunderstood and thus am uninstalling now. I already have a great voice recorder.
I'll be upgrading. It works great to send instructions to my secretary..
Been looking for a Android based Dictation app that mimics a dictation recorder, including insert and overwrite functions, which are key. This is the first Android app I've found that does that. Good user interface and easy to get started with. Only improvements I would want is: (1). voice activation feature so recording automatically stops during pauses; (2) automatically disable screen turnoff during usage; (3) add an additional compressed files format to reduce file size. But for Android, recommended.
I have lite and its not bad. The 5 min limit sucks, but other than that its okay. The uses are endless. I use it when I'm off on higher thought! : )
A good first effort, but saving in WAV is a problem. At the very least, there needs to be an option to post-process the file into an MP3, M4A, etc.
Probably nearly perfect, and the overwrite function is excellent, but definitely needs some kind of support for compressed file formats.
I kust loved it's it's is a dictating machine . I JUST LOVED THE VOICE MEETER 6 STARS
Very clean and easy to use interface. Also, really like the insert recording mode. Would be great if the app had a widget. Samsung Galaxy S
Great app...many cool features...works great
Great app looks cool works gteat
Super intuitive and easy to use. Big colored buttons. Cool sound sampling / sound quality adjustment feature.
Clean and easy to use. Lots of helpful settings.
Dictadroid has replaced my expensive Olympus digital recorder. It is both easier to use and better in sound quality. Very responsive customer support. Thanks, Boris. The only thing lacking when compared to the more expensive Apple product is voice activation. Next version?
This little voice recording app has an original interface that's actually rather functional. Unfortunately, the free version is limited to just 5min recording, so I didn't explore it further as it doesn't really fit my needs.
Okay for creating recordings, I guess, but the web was telling me this worked like Dragon Dictation, and there is no transcribe feature I could find. That's what I need.
The name "Dictadroid" implies that it will transcribe what you say (generally that is what dictate means). It does not do that. This is just a simple voice recorder.
Works well. Great interface and options. Now to get conversion to text!
Does not work.5 minutes record time passed in seconds and nothing was recorded.uninstalled.
I never recommend this app.
Version 2.0
Downloaded for taking short notes while doing laptop repairs and every single recording tried(3 in all) lasted about 5 seconds and then timed out,no use whatsoever, wont be buying the FULL Version.
This is the app for dictation. Pause. Skip back & forth. Press & hold for repeated skip so easy to find your place. Insert or overwrite or append on existing recordings. Voice activated recording. Mic gain slider you can use during recording - better than other apps do.
Very good. Would like to see other popular audio types.
WOW! This is a great app. Hats off. But 1 I.portant clarification. This is a voice recorder. Not a dictation device/app. Dictation implies 'transcribing what some is dictating to you'. Still a great voice recorder.
Simply wonderful
Nice app but the overall UI design is poor.
Can configure to use the volume keys to emulate a tape based dictaphone thumbswitch which seems to work very nicely. Extra star would be forthcoming for a waveform view of the recording to aid location within the file.
Just installed and LOVE it. Using to record ideas but also probably for grocery store, to do lists etc. Thank god and soft8 no ads!!!
We use the full version of dictadroid in tandem with express scribe from nch software and it is a match made in heaven! None of the hardware recorder nonsense and a streamlined process. Just need more flexibility in specifying fields in a filename and email title (to save typing time). Well done!
This might seem minor until you start regularly wanting to record notes and send them by email, but this is one of the few out there that allows you to set a default recipient email address, rather than having to retype it each time. Also, one of the few that allows you to go back through your recording and insert audio in the middle of an existing recording. I tried over a dozen and settled on this app for my dictation needs.
