Fantastic Dictation System! I Dictate complex medical reports to be transmitted to a Transcriptionist. This app works much better than Digital recording systems costing Hundreds of Dollars. The customer service is excellent. My emailed questions were answered promptly and efficiently. I highly recommend this App

This is a great product. I have used other recording apps and this is the best that I have seen out there. It is great to be able to pause, overwrite, continue recording even though a call comes through. Even when I had an issue, support promptly replied even though the issue was ultimately associated with another app.

Revolutionary and very simple to use with all the insert and overwrite facility you need. All 3 directors use it. Highly recommended.

I used this application all the time. It incredibly helps me organize my work. Simple as a hammer! Love it. And work without it is much more difficult

This app just continues to get better. And you can trust the people and the person that has made this app safe and secure! He doesn't take advantage of his clients in permissions. In fact actually not wanting to put certain ones in to protect you and me. Need more apps like this. Recommend highly.

No frills but unlike other apps that claim to do dictation this actually does it. Allows you to scroll back in real time and edit your dictation. Only problem is that I need my files in mp3 so I've had to purchase a converter to convert the wave file. This would be five star if it allowed the option to dictate in other formats or had a built in conversion.

My app says it is recording but when I go to stop it - i only have 5 minutes of recording. It just started doing this.

Uncompressed dictation with no frills seems to work reasonably well. Unfortunately, the compression is buggy, particularly when files get bigger, e.g. more than 30 minutes. Sending the compressed file through gmail appears to work, until you realize that only the first 30 minutes of the file was sent. There is no error message. I only realized when I tried to play the recording. Other means of sharing simply error out (e.g. google drive) or do not work at all (e.g. Airdroid). I was finally able to share the file uncompressed, but since it was large this took some time. It's ok if the app struggles with large files, but then there should be a warning to this effect or the file size should be limited. Also, compression must be performed every time a file is shared, even if the file has not been changed since the last time it was shared. This is frustrating. I also had problems inserting. The app would lose track of the file size or somehow lose its place within the file. Although the app recovered eventually, it was disconcerting. From all the positive reviews, I assume inserting works fine with small files, but once the file gets big, things seem to fall apart.

So much better value than a dictaphone!

It does NOT upload entire file to dropbox. It has happened several times. Beware...!!!

Recording works fine. But I can't record using the widget, which is one of the reasons why I chose this app. Help pls

I'd like to be able to record in MP3s and save to external SD card.

Very good app haven't tried any of the new features yet though so I can't comment on that. Otherwise its good excellent have a good job!

MIC NOT SEEN BY DICTATROID Was working for awhile. No it doesn't see any audio to record on my Note 4. Could not find any settings for the mic. Used to work. Also I wish they were more clear on how to find and implement the widget. Had to help my 90 year old Mother to find it and it took me awhile and a couple of Google searches. One star till they fix the mic issue.

I am a practicing lawyer who dictates letters etc and wanted a full-featured dictation app that let's me move around, overwrite, insert and do the other things I need to do.This does it very very well. And it easily emails to my secretary for transcription. The newer versions automatically compress the file. I dictated for over 20 minutes last week. What would have been a 20 Meg file with the original version was less than two. Great app.

I have just bought premium version (lite is limited to only 5 minutes). I am delighted at first sight with the abilities and functioning of Dictadroid because it has exactly what I searched for: 1) it has sliding bar for fast rewinding of recorded; it has even the "page down" or up possibility to traverse the sliding bar so I can listen the previous 2) dictaphone for speach recording 2) it has silence detection and elimination from recording (adjusted in settings) for in-office recording It has even insertion or overwriting in the middle of recording if wanted. Seems missing for my usage: school mode: to record not only from the moment record button is pressed but some time previously, to catch the whole sentence. But apart from that, excellent application!

I would have given it a 5 star otherwise. Limiting to phone memory only limits how many dictations you can have

Before I discovered this app, I was shopping for a digital voice recorder that I could use for my transcription needs. Then I downloaded this and, at the higher sampling rate, this app outperformed the digital voice recorders priced in the hundreds. Fantastic app. Thank you!

Works like a charm. No longer need a dictaphone, batteries, tapes, and the mechanical problem of that system. My transcriptionist was driving to my office daily to pick up tapes. Now she opens an email. As a doc dictating office visits it works perfectly. Since I always have my phone, I can dictate from anywhere and capture all the interactions I used to miss like phone calls from patients at home or wherever.

Record button could be larger. Still best app around for now.

To the developer: I really love the simple interface, and particularly the ability to INSERT recording. IF you can do this I would pay double the price you charge now: 1) tagging function 2) speed-playback ... not skip fwd/back like now. But speed up from 1.5x to 2.5x for example. I love the VU meter and the Gain and Volume sliders at the bottom. Maybe if you can make them permanently visible, not auto-hide, that would be awesome too. Great work, 4 stars. 5 when you make the upgrades :-) D.

Worked great for a long time, but it has locked up twice in the past week when dictating. Lost a 10 minute recording and have to record again.

The ability to rewind with the volume button and overwrite errors makes this really useful. Compressed output and multiple ways to share or send dictations-five stars

This is a great application that allows a lot of different ways of communicating recording and sharing. But it does have one flaw or two. It it still does not allow you to record phone calls! What you have spoke with the designer about 5 times now. It would blow away all other apps is she to add this. Actually left this recording during lectures before and it has work slowly does a good recorder. Please add this feature.

Since rebooting my phone issues are resolved and I think this dictation app is the best after trying others

This is the best dictation app for Android. The newest version supports compressed audio and sharing through multiple services such as dropbox, google drive, box, etc.
