Samsung’s flagships let you use volume up key to turn on the torch when the screen is off, but Samsung has removed this feature from Galaxy S6/S6 Edge for some reason. If you find yourself using the flashlight as a torch more than most, you can bring back the feature on Galaxy S6/S6 Edge without root access.
You can use volume up key to turn on the torch in Galaxy S6/S6 Edge by installing a simple app called ‘Volume Torchlight’.
Enables torch when pressing the volume up key when the screen is off. And, what is great with this app is that it does not require root access on your Galaxy S6.
On Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, you can pull down the quick launch bar and toggle the torch icon, but using volume up key for it is certainly a very convenient option in any situation. Using Volume up key as a torchlight switch indeed a very good solution if you are looking for a simple and convenient way to power on/off the LED flashlight on your Android phone to navigate through the dark.

After 3 hours of taking and trying different torch apps this was by far the best working app for me. It actually works and is very convenient to use as it uses the volume button. Many of the other apps claim convenience, especially the apps that allow light to be turned on by pressing power button multiple times, but i found that this rarely worked properly. Anyway, i think i found the right combination in this app. It's simple and works and no dodgy permissions and no rooting malarkey.

Awesome!, please add brighter light option and unlimited torch light time-out , to avoid battery drain /overheat add a vibrate/ sound notification option when torch light operate for a long time ( custom time / 5 min ,10 min, 30), I will stay tuned for the next updates, sent from Samsung G S5 / 5.0 lollipop ,Thanks.

A little brighter wouldn't hurt and also vibration feedback would be nice. Works on my S5 & On5. WHY IS THIS FLASHLIGHT APP 13MB??!!! UNREAL!

Finally found a flashlight app that works. Every time I get a new phone I have to try to find a new flashlight app (volume button) that works for my phone. Well this one is the only one I've found after about 10 other ones that works when I tried to use the volume button to turn it on. I don't get why these cellphone makers don't already have this as a feature with phones.

Well Done, Exactly what i was looking for. Thank you very much ) Buuuut, it would be better to make it start in a start up, and can you add function to see it on notification panel? İt stops working sometimes, yeah i did add it to ignore list in task manager apk.
