Birder - Record birds you see for Android
At first I loved it but after a while I discovered that I am not able to edit sightings, you cannot even delete and replace them which would be a solution.
So much better and I do enjoy this application. They continue to improve it . A big YES for me
I was happy for awhile, then after submitting 10 sightings they disappeared. Also, none of the songs work for me. I would like to change my profile from anonymous. Can't find a way to do that. I did purchase the unlimited version, but am regretting that.
Would be good if there was a search all birds option instead of going to "other" and seeing if it's in there and then finding out its not and then having to guess which group it's in if you are a beginner, like me. Would also be good to edit sightings. Also on the nearby birds map you click on a marker and a picture pops up but nothing else, would be good to be able to see what bird it is. Oh and to be able to turn off notifications in settings. Hopefully the app will improve more over time.
Edit: Thanks for adding the feature I requested!! I bought the unlimited sightings option and I'm finding it useful. One more suggestion- I wish i could share my sightings on twitter instead of facebook. Old feedback: Is there any way to post a sighting for a bird that happened in the past? I can only find a way to post a sighting for the place i am at this exact moment.
I spotted a lot of birds, but when I made my profile it deleted all of them. Now they are not attributed it to me. Also very hard to find your profile.
Not as good as it used to be. Used to show several sightings but now only one
I haven't been able to submit sightings anymore! it keeps saying I already submitted exciting for this day. I haven't submitted anything for weeks this app sucks since the last update
I like it alot. It's a great app
I have 20 birds visiting my yard and I regularly post them on EBird's free app. This app will show some of them, but not most. It does have some useful features. I still prefer the Cornell Merlin app.-also free for bird info and Ebird for recording your sightings. This could help me choose where to go to find birds I haven't yet spotted. New update trying to force me onto Facebook which I don't have, very annoying!
I really love the idea of this app! The laggyness of the pictures of the birds is pretty frustrating, but a little refreshment on remembering taxonomy would help! But for that to be fixed would be greatly appreciated. Also I think for the app to save your location would be useful too. But either way this app is still very useful!
I like it alot
Great app

Love how this app is growing. Sharing photos is a great new addition.

Great for quick browsing, but seems to suggest a few rare birds while skipping some common ones (e.g. hermit thrush instead of veery)
Yes! Wish you didn't have to upgrade to add more then 1 sighting
Easy to use and gd to see what's spotted in your area
I have used this app for a year. I love the improvements. It's very accurate. And it's handy for when you travel. Picks up sightings no matter where you are.
Great app's for tracking what you see.
I like the updates and will continue using the app, especially when I travel. One note is that the Wikipedia content lookup makes mistakes. For common raven, the app displays info about a German band with the same Latin name.
Good app. I don't like the fact you have to pay to submit sightings.
The new update allows me to list my sightings. Much better!
Paid for the pro and doesn't work trying to get refund
Almost Perfect. I would prefer a listing by name without the pictures though, with pictures as an option after clicking on the entry, and then a distinction between All birds found and the Notable/Rare ones (I believe ebird does make this distinction in their api). For the price, though, I shouldn't complain.
If you enter parameters into the settings they don't work. I enter birds within 5k and it displays birds 100's of kilometers away. Same with dates. Way off.
Too bad you can't determine distances in miles rather than kilometers.
I would like this more if you could add that you saw a specific bird near your area, otherwise awesome app.
Now that I've figured out I was using it wrong before... lol!
Thank you so much , the gps sightings function is so practical I'm surprised no one else has done this. I suppose someone has to be first! Bravo! Thank you
I love this app, it's very useful for quickly identifying birds I am seeing or hearing in the area. My only issue with it is there are pictures for the birds (I think user-uploaded) that are offensive and insensitive, for example the pic for the mourning dove is two hunters shooting, and the house sparrow is a cat with a dead sparrow. There is no way to report these pics, change them, or rate them down. They need a way to get rid of them when people are being jerks. Otherwise, it works great.
On initial download I was frustrated by lag in picture download. So uninstalled. But soon missed the ease of finding birds in MY area. So I have reinstalled. 2 things I really hope u are working on are: Ability for user to register own sightings and secondly the lag and maintaining of pics once loaded. For sure this app is 5 star potential and I will be keeping with the hopes that you are working on these items. Thanks for making it.
The idea is great - use your GPS to create a circle around you listing all the birds recently sighted. Provide a gallery to easily identify them. The problem is, it appears the images do not cache, or are not stored on your device. That means, they are constantly downloading as your gallery scrolls through a continuing slide show. WHAT THIS NEEDS: a way to permanently store the bird photos on your phone & maybe a way to select the ones you want to keep (or not). Also a way to easily contribute.
Great app. Thanks for sharing your good work. Wish all can contribute to the locations as community, than just use
I wanted to add the birds I spotted in my area but the app doesn't appear to have that option which is a real shame, I would've given it 5 stars if that was possible, sorry.
Very helpful app, only thing I would improve if I would know how to report bird sightings.
I love this app. How do I add birds that I have seen?

The app has problems. It supposedly only lets you save one "sighting" per day unless you pay. This is fair enough, but once you've submitted a single sighting, you can't submit another even days later! The app insists that you've submitted a sighting already today, despite the home screen showing only one sighting three days ago. Why would I pay for an app that is already broken? If fixed I'd consider the premium version.
